A Note from Susan Miller
FEBRUARY 2019
Dear Reader,
We have made it to February, a darling month, made all the sweeter because most of us have come through some tough tests in January, which held two eclipses (January 5 and 20) triggering one or two sudden changes. If you felt January was intense, you are not alone. I would like you to share your stories about the eclipses and other aspects on social media—each night I read every post. Please include your month and day of birth (no year necessary) so that I can see your sign and rising sign.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
Life has not been easy for you over the past year, for you have had to deal with Saturn in Capricorn. This the first time Saturn has occupied your sign since February 1988 through February 1991. If you were an adult back then (and not too young to remember that period), you may recall that you made some big decisions, and you were busy setting up the foundation of your life, at least for the coming three decades. Now you are adding to that foundation, or if you were very young in 1988 to 1991, you’re starting your new foundation now.
People with Saturn on their Sun, as you have now, often make a commitment—you might go to graduate school, get married, have a baby, buy a house, or start a business and so forth. If you already lived through Saturn in Capricorn back in 1988-1991, you already learned a great deal during those years, for Saturn’s job is to bring maturity and wisdom through taking on responsibility. If you did live through those years, theoretically you will find the current visit of Saturn a bit easier.
Saturn also shows us where we have veered off course or made an important mistake, say, in your career, as one example. That’s fine, we all make mistakes. You will be given a chance to rebuild any part of your life that you’d like to fix or strengthen.
The eclipses this year are in Capricorn and Cancer, adding some pressures, for you will need to adjust to swiftly changing circumstances. One eclipse arrived last month, a difficult eclipse in Capricorn on January 5, that forced you to face tough realities. One more is due in your opposite sign of Cancer on July 2, and two more in Capricorn, July 16 and Christmas Day, December 25, 2019. (December 25 is the nicest one of the year. If you have my Year Ahead 2019 calendar (see my homepage) you have a description and outlook for each eclipse.)
The eclipses in your sign and Cancer are somewhat similar to the ones that arrived on those precise dates in the year 2000, so if you can recall anything that stood out in 2000, you may be able to pick up a theme that could be echoed again this year.
If your birthday falls on or near January 5 and you didn’t notice any dramatic news, then you need to watch February 5 for news, or think back to December 5, in both cases plus or minus five days. Sometimes an eclipse will deliver news one month to the day earlier, and sometimes one month later, plus or minus five days. We also had an eclipse January 21 that fell in Leo, accenting your income, and the same rules apply. Astrologers work with bell curves, which is the reason we see time differently than other people. Most people notice news of an eclipse on the day or close to it, but 10 percent will feel it a month to the day earlier, and 15 percent of readers will notice news a month to the day later.
This month, Venus is orbiting close to Saturn, so when it comes to love, you are in serious mode. You don’t want to tell your life story to many possible romantic interests, for you seem ready to commit to one person. You seem determined to build a real relationship so you can both have a future together.
Compared to January, when a lot of shifts were happening, February will be a brighter month filled with plenty of opportunity.
The month starts with a peach of a new moon, February 4, in Aquarius 16 degrees, lighting your house of earned income. If last month’s eclipse on January 20 blotted out a source of income or brought news of a big expense, this new moon will help you replace the money you may have lost. This new moon will work hard on your behalf to bring financial opportunities.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
The reason I am so excited about your financial prospects this month is that this new moon will receive shimmering vibrations from Jupiter, the magnificent planet of good fortune, and that is no small advantage! Jupiter is now in your twelfth house, so you may get a confidential tip from someone successful and highly placed, and if you follow up on it, this might be a way to uncover a way to earn a lucrative sum.
The second house, where this new moon of February 4 will fall, rules earned income and salary, not prize winnings, gifts, or loans. All new moons are strong for ten days, so be sure to look for ways to make more money within that time frame, and if you turn up one or more, make an appointment with that influential person. Your actions should pay off.
Aquarius, where the new moon will fall on February 4, is the futuristic sign of science and also rules all things newly invented, so you may be working on a project that is new to you, say, in the digital world, telecommunications, apps, rocket science, geology, or in the humanities, such as social work or work that benefits your community, a charity, a humanitarian cause, or political candidate. Whatever you choose to do this month, it will likely be something where you will pioneer and eventually become a pathfinder in a new realm. The experience you get with this project will put you in an enviable position to get ahead, possibly as soon as April
Valentine’s Day falls on February 14, the day when Mars enters Taurus, and lucky you, from February 14 to March 30, Mars will energize your solar fifth house of love, just in time for this day for lovers. You will be passionate, warm, and ready to enjoy love. Meanwhile, Venus will be in Capricorn from February 3 to March 1, a perfect place for you, for Venus will see that your charms are hauntingly visible.
This month, Venus is orbiting close to Saturn, so when it comes to love, you are in serious mode. You don’t want to tell your life story to many possible romantic interests, for you seem ready to commit to one person. You seem determined to build a real relationship so you can both have a future together. (Saturn rules the concept of time and makes you want to use your time well.)
Valentine’s Day may bring a proposal (or you may give one), and if so, as a typical Capricorn, you will have thought things out thoroughly. If you feel you have found your one truelove, you are ready to commit. If you are already married, you nevertheless are in a serious, realistic, practical mode, too, and may be drawing up a goal that you and your partner can work on together.
Venus and Neptune will combine energies to produce one of the most shimmering, glamorous aspects possible over the weekend of February 16-17. You might want to plan a getaway for two over this glowing weekend.
If you are not interested in love right now, you can direct the aesthetics of Venus into your creative work. Saturn’s closeness will give you a realistic appraisal of what your potential audience/client/customers would respond to best. Capricorn is known to be an ambitious sign, always aiming for higher professional goals, but many don’t know that Capricorns can be very creative, excelling in music, and often in artistic illustration. No matter what your passion in the arts, if you are creative, let Venus whisper ideas to you—after all, she is known as the planet of beauty and grace—so let her be your muse.
This would be a good time to stock up on new wardrobe items, for now that your birthday has just come and gone, you may have some birthday gift certificates or birthday cash to spend. Next month, Mercury will be retrograde from March 5 to 28, so you should consider shopping now for best luck.
This also goes for picking up an electronic treasure—a new computer, smartphone, flat screen TV, electronic game, kitchen appliance like a refrigerator or dishwasher, even a car, or any other item with moving parts or electronics that would thrill you. Shop now, not next month. Stay as far away from March 5 as you can.
We always feel Mercury’s impending slowdown ten days before it officially turns retrograde. In truth, Mercury is on his worst behavior at the start and end dates of his retrograde period, which I call the bookend dates. Still, many people I know run right up against those start and end dates, thinking those are weakest days, when in truth they are strongest.
After a month of thinking a lot about generating new income, thanks to the new moon of February 4 that will set you on a course to get more money, you may feel you need a break. The universe agrees and has provided a chance for you to get a beautiful change of scene.
On the full moon in Virgo, one degree, on February 19, with a strong plus or minus four days, you will have a chance to travel far and wide. This would be an ideal time to take a mini vacation, starting the evening of February 14 and continuing through February 20. I realize these are odd days to take off, but my job is to give you the best possible time. I feel you should consider going to a gorgeous mountain range (a full moon in Virgo points to mountains) either to ski or to a spot with mountains that’s near white sands and warm surf.
You might be asked to sign paperwork at this full moon, but if so, I do not want you to. Although this full moon is as sweet as sugar, Mercury will be conjunct Neptune, suggesting ambiguous clauses could easily give you problems later, or your lawyer may have forgotten to add certain contingencies that were not covered at all, and those could come back to bite you. If you know you have to sign papers, do so on February 7, your best day of the month, or February 27, your close runner-up for a joyous outcome.
Other areas that may come to culmination will be publishing, broadcasting, an Internet project, or the finalization of an immigration question. You may also be concluding a special test at the university (and you’ll do well) or successfully defend your thesis. If a court case finishes, you are likely to be very happy with the settlement or verdict. The reason I am so enthusiastic about this full moon is that Uranus and Mars will both send you glittering rays, so what comes up will be quite unexpected, but in the best possible way.
If your birthday falls on December 21, plus four days, you will be in line to get a double dip of pleasure from this fantastic full moon.
Near the very end of the month, on Wednesday, February 27, the Sun will align with Mars, making this a highly romantic day, especially if you go away with your one-and-only. If you could not take any of the days off that I mentioned above and you have a little vacation time due, by all means loop this day, February 27, into the string of days you take off. Also, on this day the moon will conjoin Jupiter, making it a day when optimism reigns, and privacy—for two—seems quite divine.
Summary
As you enter the month, on February 3, Venus will enter Capricorn for the first time in over a year. Venus will bring out your charms and have you on all the important A-lists for festive events. You should get out as much as possible, for doing so would do you a world of good. With Saturn orbiting close, you may meet someone new who seems more mature for their age or who has a wide age difference from yours. No matter—things seem to click, so if you are single, continue to investigate this relationship.
You had an austere year in 2018, for Saturn entered your sign last year and will stay until December 2020. By now you are learning the ropes of dealing with the demands of this taskmaster planet. It is a time to build a foundation for the coming three decades, and that involves some serious thinking.
You will not feel Saturn’s influence during the entire three years that Saturn tours Capricorn. If your birthday falls from December 21 through January 3, you felt Saturn’s influence the most last year. This year, Capricorns born January 3 to January 10 will notice the influence the most and feel the need to commit to an important goal. While nothing comes easily with Saturn, all that you achieve under his stay you will keep forever and will be what makes you most proud. Capricorns with birthdays that fall after January 11 will feel Saturn’s influence the most in 2020.
This month has beautiful aspects, not the crosscurrents that we have seen recently—this month has a purely positive new and full moon. The new moon on February 4 will occur in your second house of earned income. Gather up your courage, for it is time to ask for a raise or negotiate a better salary for a new position elsewhere. If making more money is important to you, you have your chance now. Start seeking opportunity immediately, for with Venus in perfect angle to Uranus, you may hit on something special unexpectedly.
This suggests that you will have important support from an anonymous source, most likely in terms of a high level executive who believes in you. Ask for your raise within the ten days that follow this new moon—choose February 7, a particularly strong day—when Jupiter and the Sun will align perfectly and brilliantly.
On February 12, make sure all electrical outlets at home are not overloaded. You’ve had quite a lot of emphasis on your home property or on care for one or more of your family members, but now that emphasis will calm down, for it looks as though you’ve completed all you’ve set out to do. If not, hurry and get as much done as possible while Mars remains in Aries.
Once Mars moves into Taurus, your fifth house of true love, from February 14 to March 30, your social life will sparkle. Life will take on new luster, and you will feel your spirits soar. Between Venus in Capricorn and Mars in Taurus, an earth sign like yours, you will be the star of any gathering.
Your wanderlust will increase at the full moon of February 19 in Virgo, one degree, and you will long to be in a fresh setting. Mars, in your house of true love, will coax you to go away with your romantic partner (or to see that person at your destination).
How wonderful that Uranus, planet of surprise, and Mars, planet of action, will both be perfectly supportive, and from your romantic sector. (Uranus is in late degree of Aries, only a half-degree away from Taurus in your truelove sector, to enter March 6 for the first time in your life. Close enough! Uranus took 84 years to get here, so it is the only time you will have this influence in your life!) A trip you take may become very romantic, either because you meet someone special you will want to see more of while you are on the trip, or because you will travel with your sweetheart.
If the trip is for business, the fact that the Sun is so sweetly angled to Uranus suggests you will either get a healthy commission or that you are about to make a fine financial deal that pays well.
There is an alternative way you can use this full moon, February 19, and that is to wrap up an important creative project to much applause. It might involve a publishing, Internet, or broadcasting project, or it might be academic, where you finish an important paper. These two alternative possibilities are not mutually exclusive—you may do both.
You also seem to be making money at this point of the month too, so perhaps when you launch or ship your creative project, the money due you will be wired to you straight away. Mercury, ruler of this full moon, will be meeting with Neptune, Venus, Saturn, and Pluto, indicating how much clout you will have at this time. It’s a magical moment, so enjoy it to the fullest, dear Capricorn.
