Valve is working on a new system to show Steam users how well a game will
perform on their computer, pooling data from the millions of users who
frequent the platform.
Valve 正在開發一套新系統，透過匯集數百萬經常存取該平台的用戶的數據，向 Steam
用戶展示遊戲在其電腦上的運作效果。


As spotted by ResetEra user dex3108, a new Steam Client update references a
"Framerate Estimator" which will display "a chart of estimated framerates,
based on the framerates of other Steam users." It will do this by looking at
your saved hardware and then comparing it to the performance of those with
similar GPUs and CPUs, offering a more transparent insight into what you can
expect from a title before purchasing.
ResetEra 用戶 dex3108發現，Steam 用戶端的最新更新中提到了一個“幀率估算器”，
它會顯示“基於其他 Steam 用戶幀率的預估幀率圖表”。該工具會分析你儲存的硬體配
置，並將其與擁有類似 GPU 和 CPU 配置的用戶的效能進行比較，讓你在購買遊戲前更清
楚地了解遊戲的預期表現。



This discovery comes after Valve announced in an official blog post last
month that it had begun collecting framerate data with a new opt-in program.
"Added the option to provide anonymized framerate data," it explained. "When
enabled Steam will collect gameplay framerate data, stored without connection
to your Steam account but identified with the kind of hardware you are
playing on. This data will help us learn about game compatibility and improve
Steam."
此前，Valve上個月在官方部落格上宣布，他們已開始透過一項新的自願參與計劃收集幀
率數據。 Valve 解釋說：“我們新增了提供匿名幀率數據的選項。啟用後，Steam 將收
集遊戲幀率數據，這些數據不會與您的 Steam 帳戶關聯，但會根據您正在使用的硬體類
型進行識別。這些數據將幫助我們了解遊戲兼容性並改進 Steam。”
