Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

We are back in eclipse season, and that’s especially important for you, for you feel the effects of the moon especially because as a Cancer, the moon rules your sign. We have two eclipses this month, the last two of the year, coming September 1 as a new moon solar eclipse, and the full moon lunar eclipse, September 16. Typically we get four eclipses a year, and the first two came on March 8 and March 23. Why should you pay attention to eclipses? They are known to bring massive change and in the case of a lunar eclipse, a floodlight of truth to the surface.

This is truly an important month because we also have the move of Jupiter out of Virgo and into Libra on September 9. Mercury will be retrograde for a while, AND we have the luckiest day of the year September 25-26. Many people psychologically think of January as the start of a New Year and a new chapter, but in many ways, September will be that for you. Let’s start at the top of the month with the first eclipse.

That new moon solar eclipse of September 1 will be in Virgo, and it will arrive surrounded by the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter in Virgo in your third house of communication. It certainly will be a hectic time for you. Your email will overflow, the phone will be ringing, you will be in demand, and among your assignments you may be working on a writing or editing project involving one or more manuscripts. You will need to stay organized because you will need to keep track of a substantial amount of detail. You also may be traveling this month, and at the start of the month the distance you cover will not be far. (That will change mid-month when the push to go a long, far distance soon will become very strong.)

This eclipse is a beauty because it will open a new path, as all solar eclipses (new moons) do. This one comes with Jupiter conjunct Mercury, an extraordinary alignment, for this new moon is in Virgo and ruled by Mercury. This aspect will rise above all the others in importance.

It is true that Mars and Saturn are locked together in your workaday sector, so that tells me work has been very demanding. Mars and Saturn are starting to separate by mid-month, making things easier for you to make decisions and move forward, but with Mercury retrograde, you won’t notice this to be true until the last week of September.

Mars will be in hard angle to both eclipses, so you may find that obligations at work will make it hard for you to pick a day to pack and go. You will find work very busy until September 27, at which time Mars will finally leave Sagittarius and lighten things up. Remarkably, you’ve had Mars in your work sector from March 5 to May 27, and then again from August 2 to September 27, when this trend will leave. Having Mars in any house of the horoscope is like having a dozen cups of coffee in one morning – a bit hard to take, and you’ve hosted Mars in your sixth house of work projects for months! The usual amount of time Mars spends in any house is six or seven weeks.

Getting your tasks done quickly and accurately will be hampered a bit, as Mercury, the planet that rules communication, negotiation, contracts, research, perception, shipping, and travel will be in retrograde from August 30 to September 22. Mercury will retrograde in Virgo, and that will increase the chances for you to miss a detail, so you will have to slow down to concentrate. It’s not a time to sign a contract – delay signing papers until September 25 or 26. Why? I will explain more later, but suffice to say those days are the two luckiest days of all of 2016 and they will light your contractual house!

Your manner of thinking – your approach to the world – this month will influence what actually occurs. In a very true sense, your perspective, opinions, and thinking will propel you forward to succeed. In other words, positive thoughts will have a powerful effect and can help you achieve goals.

The eclipses are putting a strong emphasis on intellectual pursuits, and the effect will be broadening. Travel could form a huge part of the month, for both eclipses will accent both short distance and long distance travel. Think back to March – did you travel then? The activities you were involved with last March and early April will continue to be an important theme, and those discussions, goals, and dreams will be advanced this month. If you traveled in March or early April, you will likely be packing your bags again.

Each eclipse is joined to the ones that previously occurred in the same family of signs until that particular series of eclipses end. This one, this month, is connected to the Pisces-Virgo family of eclipses (each sign lies 180 degrees from the other, and therefore are found on the same axis). There will be one more eclipse – a new moon solar eclipse in Pisces due February 26, 2017 – and that will end the Pisces-Virgo series.

If you cannot travel, you nevertheless will feel a strong hunger to widen your horizons. You may be preparing to back to college or start graduate school, or take a qualifying test to get credentials, or defend your thesis. The ninth house, which will be emphasized at the September 16 full moon lunar eclipse, may bring a decision to get citizenship in another country, other than the one of your nativity. Or, you may apply for a visa or green card. Eclipses bring on big life events, so it’s very possible that something big and life changing is going on.

If your birthday falls on June 30, plus or minus five days, you will feel the September 1 eclipse the most. The same is true if you have Cancer rising at 9 degrees (plus or minus five degrees), or have a natal planet in Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn at 9 degrees, also within a plus or minus five degrees.

The luckiest day of the year will be on September 25-26, when the mighty Sun will align with Jupiter, planet of good fortune. You’ll have luck with home, property, or family at this time.

In terms of the September 16 lunar eclipse, you will feel it if your birthday falls on July 16, plus or minus five days. The same is true if you have Cancer rising at 24 degrees, plus or minus five degrees, for you, too, will feel the September 16 eclipse directly. The same is true if you have a natal planet at 24 degrees plus or minus five degrees of Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn.

Simply having two eclipses in one month would qualify it for being a big, major month, but we also have the monumental move of Jupiter changing signs. Jupiter will enter Libra and your house of home for the first time in 12 years. Jupiter is set to stay thirteen months, until October 10, 2017. This is fantastic news, for as a Cancer, your family and the physical home in which you live means everything to you. Your sign naturally rules the fourth house of home and family, so literally nothing would make you happier than to be showered in dazzling aspects in your sector of home. It doesn’t matter if your plans are big or small – Jupiter will stand by you for over a year from September 9, 2016 to October 10, 2017, to help you make your home your castle and to be a haven against a sometimes harsh world.

If you find you need to buy or sell property, you will be pleased with the price you agree on. If you need to find a new apartment to rent that you can afford, keep your options wide open, for you are likely to get lucky – the right apartment is likely to show up in the right neighborhood. It will be an apartment that offers large rooms and big closets, will be sunny (Jupiter is known to enlarge AND bring warmth) and it could even give you a view (Jupiter loves views). Don’t settle for anything less than your ideal situation. If you are in a space you love, you may now have a chance to finally remodel your kitchen or bath, or paint, do repairs, put in new windows, or do anything you’ve hoped to do for a long time.

I remember when I had your aspects, and my husband at the time was out of work again. We had no money, and I was struggling to provide for my two children as best I could. I had them in private school, which I paid for myself, so I pretty much wore a hair shirt most of the time. One evening I went to the laundry room in my building, and I saw a sign for a glass dining room table. The photo showed it was beautiful, with very thick glass, one and a half inch, so I instantly knew this would be not a table for me, but the desk I had wanted for so very long to do my writing. The thick glass would hold my desktop computer and it would be wide enough to hold my books whenever I was doing research.

I called the lady who owned it in my building and bought it for a mere $600. She also offered to give me a pretty white couch as well for no extra, which was thrilling. I had my messenger service carefully transport the desk and couch to my apartment. Miracles do happen. I still have that desk, and I bought it years ago. To this day I have never seen a prettier, more elegant desk. Keep your standards high and keep looking – the right apartment, house, furniture, contractor, or designer – you name it – will show up. Simply having your house painted, cleaned, or de-cluttered could be enough to make you happy. As said, you can use this trend on a little or big scale.

Another different way this influence could work out is if something happens within the family to make life joyous – such as if your sister has a baby, or if you are mature, if your daughter gives you your first grandchild. Happiness in the family or receiving powerful family support – which might translate into a financial gift to help you buy a house – also is possible. If you have been concerned about the welfare of a parent who is ill and needs the right doctor, or if a parent would do better if moving to assisted living, the answer will now likely show up and please you. None of these areas are mutually exclusive – you can have several areas related to home and family that glitter and glow for you.

To show you just how powerful Jupiter can be for you, you will have two events this month that will prove to you just how lucky you are when dealing with anything home or family related.

The luckiest day of the year will be on September 25-26, when the mighty Sun will combine with Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. You’ll see happiness related to home, property, or family at this time.

With Jupiter present, you should see a big profit if you sell a house, or get a great price if you buy one. In the latter case, you may pay more than you anticipated, but the value you will get in return will be well worth the price. Look for furniture on these days too. You might find a valuable piece that you love and need. and it might be on sale too.

The Sun, which will be drawn into the conversation on the luckiest day of the year, rules your second house of earned income, and Jupiter rules your work projects, so it appears you can benefit in another way too. You might receive a check or bring in an important new client (which will translate into a check coming soon. Jupiter rules your sixth house of work, which is why I say that you will likely get a stroke of financial luck through your work too.

There are other possible bonuses on this day – you may get good news about your health, or you may choose to go to the animal shelter to pick out a new little pet on this day. If so, your new little dog or cat would likely work out to be very lovable. I say that because aside from workaday projects and health matters, the sixth house also rules small domestic animals too.

Next, you will come to the most heavenly new moon of the year, September 30, which will bring the new moon arm-in-arm with the Sun on one side and Jupiter, the great good fortune planet, on the other. (This event is a new moon, not an eclipse.) Anything you do in the ten days that follow September 30 that is home or family related is sure to make you thrilled. You might buy, sell, rent, find a new roommate or tenant, do repairs – you can decide. New moons are VERY powerful, and the seeds you plant at the time FOLLOWING the arrival of a new moon will have the power to change your life for the better for the year or more, until the next new moon comes in to refresh this one. I moved one year under the aspects you have, and I love my apartment – I have been living there for decades. It is unlikely that any new moon can beat the gorgeous aspects that this one, September 30, will bring you – a new moon this lovely is as rare as diamonds.

Summary

Do you have a book idea inside you? If so, write up a treatment, write two chapters, and speak to agents about representing you. If you are an actor, you may get the role of a lifetime this month, and when you get it, you may need an acting coach to help you prepare for it. No matter what you do in the communications arena – write, edit, translate, act, sell, research, proof, or do social media, public relations, publicity, or advertising – you will do well. Your communications third house sector will be lit up with a bevy of friendly planets – Jupiter, Mercury, Sun, and new moon solar eclipse September 1. Those heavenly bodies will be like a group of little friendly relatives to help you succeed.

Travel is also indicated, and if you do pack and go, you will enjoy stylishly beautiful accommodations, and you will love the location you visit. Choose one location that’s close to you and that is not far from your home base. If you are looking for a suitable location, choose a lush mountainous region, as you have a crown of stars in Virgo, an earth sign that will give you a yen to be amid nature’s lush greenery. Finally, at this busy eclipse you may also hear news about your sibling.

More travel, this time international (or very distant) in nature, might come up on the lunar eclipse, a full moon, September 16. All sorts of topics may come up as well, with a special accent on learning and study. You may be going back to college or graduate school for an advanced degree and be choosing classes, or you may be working hard to finish a publishing or broadcasting project. The ninth house, so accented, also rules in-laws, and all distant aunts and uncles, so you may want to check in. Mars will be in hard angle, so you may feel tension with too much to do – ask for extra hands on deck if you need them.

In this extraordinary month, Jupiter is moving to a new sign, one of the biggest news of 2016 as it glides into Libra on September 9 to stay thirteen months, until October 10, 2017. Home and family matters will soon begin to shine. The home is the one area the little Cancer crab cares about most, so this coming trend will make you very happy, helping you make your home your happiest place to be.

A case in point: on the luckiest day of the year, September 25-26, you may hear very exciting news about a family member, most likely a parent, or about property. You may bid or buy or sell a house / condo, or lease an apartment or vacation home. This will be the best month in 12 years to address any home or family matter. If you need help with a down payment, ask your parent – you may be surprised to get the check as a loan or outright gift.

Mercury will be retrograde for nearly all month, but will move direct on September 22. Do not sign papers until after that date. This is not a month to rush forward, even if you are pressured or feel you are ready to state a decision – delays will benefit you. Mercury will retrograde in your agreements / negotiation sector, making its retrograde doubly forceful. Any document you sign will have to be revisited and renegotiated later. Start on the right note in the last week of the month.

In terms of love, you will have a lot of emphasis on your partner from September 27 through November 8 as Mars moves through your opposite sign of Capricorn. You will have Pluto in your partnership house too, indicating your partner has strong opinions. You may have to talk your partner into rallying around the changes you want to make in your living situation. Most people experience this trend with a romantic partner, but it could be that you will have to negotiate many decisions and plans with your business partner, collaborator or agent. The control will not be completely in your hands, so be conciliatory until Mars moves closer to Cancer.

If you are single, you will have Venus in Scorpio, a lovely place for Venus to be, for you will find the month lightened by sparkling events that will bring you into contact with many interesting people. If you are unattached, you can find love, for your magnetism will be very high.

The new moon September 30 will be the finest new moon of the year, just perfect for working on any property-related matter. With the moon conjunct Jupiter, you may pay a bit more than you anticipated for anything you do that’s home or property related, but the value you get in return will be well worth the price. If looking for a new residence, it will be large and sunny, and offer unusually large closets and very possibly a view.
