A Note from Susan Miller

NOVEMBER 2018

Dear Reader,

Tomorrow, I fly to San Diego to give my Year Ahead 2019 weekend seminar at the La Costa Resort & Spa in nearby Carlsbad, CA. I am doing a cool Yoga + Astrology 3-day weekend from November 2-4 with Alanna Zabel of AZIAM Yoga. Neptune will be trine the Sun, denoting extreme harmony and spirituality, making this the perfect weekend to recharge. This will be a calming weekend where we will set our intentions for the New Year 2019.

I will speak on Friday and Saturday evening, both talks different and very detailed, with plenty of time for Q+A. Men are invited too, of course—this would make a fabulous couples weekend.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

I realize that life has not been easy for you, but the good news is that there are cheery days in November that you will enjoy. The first weekend of the month may bring a reason to take a fun weekend out of town, not too far from home. Neptune, the planet of imagination, will be contacting the Sun in your friendship and groups sector, so you may spontaneously decide to leave town to enjoy a new setting for inspiration. You may travel to see a friend, to attend a trade show, seminar, a wedding, or charity benefit, as some examples to get you thinking.

Then on November 7, you will come the new moon in Scorpio, 15 degrees, that will jazz your social life in a more important, noticeable way for weeks to come. This new moon is darling in every way, for with Pluto in Capricorn in an ideal angle to the new moon and with Neptune joining in as an even bigger supporter of that new moon, you have it made. Your friends will play a large role in this new moon, and again you will be coaxed to travel short distances. Your friends may have wise advice about introductions and events they want you to attend. Jupiter is at the end of a 13-month visit to this part of your chart, but this new moon could still bring in more acquaintances and fun and be a stimulating influence.

If your birthday falls on January 5, plus or minus five days, this new moon will affect you more strongly than others, so be sure to socialize. You can go to a party, a seminar, a lecture, or join a new social or professional club this month with superb long-term results. You need more fun in your life, now that you are hosting taskmaster Saturn in Capricorn, a three-year trend (you already completed one year), so think about joining a new club or getting more involved in a group where you are a member and attend more of its programs.

If you like, you can roll up your sleeves and join a charity or humanitarian effort that you feel passionate about, or you can join a political party volunteer group to get your favorite candidate elected. In any of these instances, you would meet like-minded people and be wrapped in the warmth of the new friends you make. The wonderful part about life is that it is impossible to help others without also helping yourself at the same time. In this case, you might learn how to enthuse and motivate others to a cause, improve how to communicate convincingly, and organize an effort effectively, and all that you master you can transfer to your day job later.

The full moon this month, on Thursday, November 22 at 1 degree Gemini, falls on Thanksgiving in America. This is a big holiday here, but oddly, the full moon is lighting your house of work. It may be that you work in the restaurant business, as a reporter in the media, as a doctor, nurse, or technician in a hospital, or perform any number of other vital services that require you to work occasionally on holidays. Or, you may have the day off, but because a full moon is influential for four days before and after, you may have to bring work home to finish up an important project.

If you are not American and don’t celebrate Thanksgiving (a fun holiday that brings with it a lovely sentiment of gratitude), the same forecast applies—you will be focused on finishing up an assignment. Family may need you, however, and they may be distracting, so the only peace and quiet you may get for work is at night when everyone else is asleep. That happens sometimes, and you seem cheerful about it.

No matter where in the world you live, you will need to keep your health strong. The November 22 full moon might find you with lowered resistance to colds and flu. This full moon will light your sixth house, which rules work and health, the latter in terms of the preventative measures you take to stay healthy. If your doctor suggests you get a flu shot, don’t delay—it takes at least two weeks for it to start working. I already got mine—self-employed people can’t afford to get sick. I want you in strong shape before you get close to the full moon on November 22 so that you can enjoy the coming holidays.

Let’s talk about Venus now, for Venus went retrograde last month on October 5 and will finally turn direct on November 16. Venus will additionally be back to normal strength by December 18. This retrograde may have been frustrating for you, for Venus is the natural ruler of your solar tenth house of fame and honors. It is likely that it has been hard to reach accord on deals, but be optimistic, for afterwards you will see that those frustrating delays actually worked to benefit you.

This month will give you a chance to breathe, relax, and have fun. The new moon on November 7 will bring you in contact with many friends, and they will help you gradually ease into your holiday social season.

We think of Venus as the planet of good looks, beauty, charm, fun, and luxury, but Venus also holds sway over profits, and in the Capricorn chart, your career, reputation, and progress. When Venus is retrograde, it is not a good time to launch new products and services, especially those directed toward woman. Things will straighten out after November 16 and even more so in December.

Venus also rules your solar fifth house of truelove, so having Venus retrograde was a double whammy for you. In truth, dating while Venus is retrograde is not a good idea for any sign, for when retrograde, Venus mutes her powers of love and affection. If you start dating a new person for the first time under Venus retrograde, the warmth of the relationship will likely cool soon. It’s not a good time to do expensive fertility treatments either, as Venus rules the egg (and Mars rules the sperm).

Venus will go direct on November 16, but little copycat Wreck-It-Ralph Mercury will go retrograde then, from November 16 to December 6. Refrain from buying gifts until after December 6, especially electronics or products with moving parts, as Mercury rules those. Do not sign contracts either during this period. It’s best if you don’t take a new job, but if you have no job, take it and see how it goes. Chances are you will move on to another, better job quickly, as the job description of the job you take when Mercury is retrograde is subject to change.

This year, 2018, has been rife with retrogrades, but I promise, after you get to December 6 at least Venus and Mars will not go retrograde at all in 2019. That makes the coming year a more productive and fast-moving year than 2018 was to be. (The start of this year, from January through most of June was excellent and moved along in a solid way, but from June 26 onward, we had Mars retrograde until August 27, Mercury was retrograde for part of that same period, from July 25 to August 18. Layered on top of those weeks, we had three eclipses in July and August—July 12, July 27, and August 11. You may have assumed that you were done with all the delays by time you got to September, but no, Venus went retrograde October 5.)

This year was more about looking back and tinkering with things that were broken, so any difficult conditions or relationships had to be fixed before you could move forward. Ironically, the planets we feel most directly when retrograde are those that orbit closest to earth—Mercury, Venus, and Mars.

Mercury retrograde spells more delays and changes in direction. It is time to stop, look, and listen, but not to make any big moves quite yet. Avoid signing contracts, and in case you are feeling gung ho about running into the stores to buy presents for friends and family, hold that thought. You can buy inexpensive things and clothing too (as long as you save receipts), but avoid buying any electronic items, whether that be a computer, automobile, dishwasher, headphones—you name it. If it has moving parts, wait until after December 6 to buy it. If you are coming out with a book, website, new app, or podcast, wait to introduce it, because Mercury is also tied to all kinds of communication.

Now let’s turn to the most dramatic news, the move on November 8 of Jupiter into Sagittarius, a place it has not occupied since November 2006 to December 2007. Jupiter will move into your twelfth house, and once there, Jupiter will ask you to think deeply about the way your life is going. You need to decide what stays and what goes. Have the aim to open your basket to allow for new possibilities, because if you don’t, you won’t have any room for all the goodies Jupiter will have for you at the end of 2019, when he enters Capricorn on December 2, 2019, to stay throughout 2020.

If you don’t delete certain unproductive elements of your life, or people who only burn your time or tear you down, then the universe will decide for you and begin taking parts of your life out with the tide. Don’t become alarmed—the dark, expensive, too small apartment you never liked may go when your landlord sells the building. Or, the relationship that frustrated you so much by your sweetheart never being ready to marry you may break up. These are random examples, and there are nearly endless possibilities—the point is, the weak links of your life must go to make room for the new life you are moving into now.

The luckiest day of the year (actually, two days this year) will occur over Sunday, November 25, and Monday, November 26, when the Sun and Jupiter combine forces, an annual event. Everyone will love these days, but for different reasons. Every year the luckiest day falls on a different day and in a different sign—lighting a new place in your chart.

For you, the Sun rules the eighth house of other people’s money, so you may be given a large check which could represent a bonus, commission, tax refund, prize winning, legal settlement. inheritance, gift, insurance payout, or other windfall.

While we are on the topic of money I want to digress for a moment.

There will be more good news about your finances this month, because Mars is moving into a new sign, and that will relieve all those monster expenses you’ve been dealing with this year. Typically, Mars changes signs every six weeks, but this year, Mars has been in Aquarius for six months, since mid-May. On November 16, Mars will finally move into a new sign, Pisces.

This is good news for you, for while Mars has been in Aquarius, he raised your expenses sky high for months. Now that Mars will be in a more compatible sign to yours, Pisces, your high expenses will start to drop. Additionally, Mars will encourage you to travel more often, perhaps over weekends, or to take short business trips. You will love the change.

I would like to go back to the topic of Jupiter and the Sun’s impending conjunction over November 25 and November 26, producing the luckiest days of the year, in your twelfth house, associated with hospitals and places of confinement and healing. If you were to go in for rehab then, have medical surgery, or a medical or dental procedure at that time, you would have an excellent chance for a good outcome. I am thinking that the financial contribution that I see coming to you, due to a shining eighth house, might be related to a payout from your health insurance company for whatever medical or dental procedure you might need done.

Let’s say you need in vitro. If the insurance company does not pay, which they probably won’t, your parents or another relative may help you with the cost. These luckiest days of the year would be a fine time to schedule your procedure, if your cycle cooperates with those dates or near them.

If you feel fine and have no expectation of money coming to you at work in one large chunk, then on Sunday, November 25, buy a few scratch off lotto tickets (not many), for you could win a prize.

My final parting word—you don’t need to wear so much black, dear Capricorn. That’s a sign of Saturn’s visit, but you can lighten up a little—better days are due. Besides, when Saturn comes knocking, we usually lose weight because we are so busy and not distracted by food or even thinking about it. You don’t need to wear black so often—you are probably already a little smaller, and that will keep up over the coming two years. For some, that might be good news.

SUMMARY

You are a soul that strives for career progress at all times, but you may have felt in limbo ever since Venus went retrograde on October 5. Venus is the natural ruler of your tenth house of fame, honors, and achievement, so when retrograde, you feel stuck in glue, unable to move forward. The good news is Venus will turn direct on November 16. The bad news is Mercury will go retrograde the same day Venus finally normalizes, and Mercury will stay retrograde until December 6.

While Venus retrograde may have brought either a career setback or simply a slower than usual movement forward, Mercury retrograde will bring on a smoke-and-mirrors environment, with changing conditions around you. It’s not the time to make important decisions, not even verbally. This month will be perfect for looking back and deciding what is working, what is not, and what exactly needs to be changed. You are at year’s end now, so you can reflect on what you’d like to achieve in the coming year.

The universe builds in brakes to slow us down every so often—we have had a lot of those stops built into 2018 since the end of June, and they are still ongoing. Soon, after you get beyond December 6, you will have a much more productive road ahead. (This will be the first December you’ve had in years that Mercury will not be retrograde in the main holiday gift-giving season.)

This month will give you a chance to breathe, relax, and have fun. The new moon on November 7 will bring you in contact with many friends, and they will help you gradually ease into your holiday social season. This new moon is a sweet one, for it will receive shimmering vibrations from Neptune in Pisces. You may take short drives to see friends or attend an event in the two weeks that follow the new moon, November 7. This new moon will also receive help from Pluto in Capricorn, suggesting some of your socializing will be professional in nature, and the information and tips you get in your mixing and mingling will be helpful in your profession after Venus and Mercury are direct.

The biggest news of the month will involve the move of good fortune Jupiter into Sagittarius, your twelfth house, on November 8 for the coming 13 months, until December 2, 2019. This will be a preparatory period for the best year of your life, starting December 2, 2019, and running through all 12 months to December 2020. From now forward, you will need to think about your dreams for the future and what obstacles you have faced in realizing those dreams. Make a plan, for you can outwit them.

You also will need to start the weeding out process of elements and people in your life and decide soon who and what needs to go. Sometimes we don’t realize that some relationships are not healthy until eclipses come to bring truth to the surface.

You will have five such eclipses in Capricorn and Cancer (your partnership sign) in 2019 to test the strength of various parts of your life. The universe will show you what you need to know. If all the elements in your life that the eclipses test prove to be strong, you will sail through the coming months. If the eclipses find a weak link, you will know that too—and Jupiter will help you rebuild and refresh that situation.

On another topic, the full moon on November 22 will be in Gemini and help you finish a large work project. There may be some distractions coming from home to make working against a deadline harder—line up people to help you under any eventuality. Distractions from home and family sounds realistic because in the US, that’s Thanksgiving, and your family, children, and friends will want your full attention. It sounds like you’ll be burning the midnight oil to get everything in, but you are used to that. You are not one to shun work. You are also known to uphold traditional family holidays, the reason I think you won’t be getting much sleep over that full moon.

In matters of health, you could not wish for a better place for Jupiter, the great healer, to be in the coming year. Jupiter will be in your twelfth house, the house of confinement and recovery. You can address medical and psychological matters, confident you can find the right professional to help you. If you are troubled by an addiction to a substance, Jupiter can now help you to overcome it. Have faith that you can locate the right doctor to help you and that you have the inner strength to work with the doctor to overcome any health concern.

Take note of the luckiest days of the year, November 25 and 26, when Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and happiness, will align with the Sun. It will be an excellent time to address a health matter or to work with a trainer to reach a fitness goal. The Sun will take the goodness of Jupiter’s benefic rays and multiply them many times over. That day will also be special for possibly winning a small prize with a lotto ticket—buy a few scratch-off tickets on Sunday, November 25, and discover if you won. Good luck!
