A Note from Susan Miller

October 2018

Dear Reader,

I am excited to tell you about my two appearances, first in October at the New Life Expo on Saturday, October 27, in New York City, and then in Carlsbad, California where I am doing a full weekend of yoga and astrology from November 2-4, 2018. In both cases, I will tell you all about the Year Ahead 2019. All the details about my two appearances are on my website. Check my homepage of AstrologyZone.com. Here is the short version of what I will do, and I hope you can come!

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

It’s getting close to birthday time, and so as the Sun moves through Libra until October 23, think about what you’d like to accomplish in your birthday year ahead. What accomplishment will you be celebrating by this time next year, dear Scorpio? You have a dynamite forecast, so think big and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t accomplish what you set out to do.

Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, first entered your sign, Scorpio, on October 10, 2017, but is now in his final weeks in Scorpio, and is set to leave next month on November 8. After Jupiter leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius, he will not be back until September 2029 (yes, 2029), and that is the reason you should try to use the last rays of Jupiter in Scorpio to your fullest advantage. Of course, you will always make progress in many areas, it is just that you are being outstandingly favored now, so experiencing a breakthrough will be easier than ever. As your year of being the celestial favorite starts to draw to a close, think about whether there is someone influential that you still would like to meet to present your ideas.

The reason I urge you to meet with any VIP who will see you now is that Jupiter only visits your sign once every 12 years for a year’s stay. In October 2017, you started a new Jupiter cycle, and the people you met, the conversations you had, the ideas you put forth, all will become vitally important in the next gestation of the cycle, when Jupiter enters Sagittarius and your house of personal wealth on November 8. You are about to enter into your glorious harvest period of reward.

The source(s) of the profits you could shortly see will relate directly to the people you saw and the ventures you started in the cycle you are now in, while Jupiter is still in Scorpio. That’s why I urge you to see as many important people as possible now, for those meetings carry weight. While not every conversation you’ve had over the past year will yield strong profits, some will, and the results will be impressive. While you still have time, see the people who matter to you, or who might start to matter to you, very soon.

Venus is now about to retrograde in Scorpio starting October 5 and will continue until November 16. It is too bad that the day that Venus goes direct, her little brother, Mercury, always the class clown, will begin to retrograde from the same day, November 16 to December 6. This means that for the next two months you will be spending time looking back over past decisions and reconnecting with people from your past. You may be tempted to rekindle a relationship that you once had and still carry a torch for in your heart.

If you work in sales, the customers or clients who always believed in you will be the luckiest for you, so put your attention on those individuals, and thank them for their loyalty and early support of you. They saw your star potential before anyone else.

With the Sun transiting your twelfth house, take time alone (and since Scorpio loves to be alone, I don’t have to convince you of this!). You need to move into strategic mode for now and examine your approach to your job to see if it could be better.

You may be thinking of making a move or improving the look and feel of your home, but when Mars was retrograde in July and August, it was hard to make any progress at all. Now you can.

The new moon of October 8 will underscore this theme of getting your ducks in a row so that you will be able to tear out of the gate, once you get closer to your birthday. You can think about other parts of life too, of course, for it appears you will be thinking even more about your personal life than your career these days, as a majority of the planets will be transiting below the horizon,  ruling your private life. Additionally, the retrograde planets will give you the time and motivation to think about choosing the precise approach you should use for the circumstances you are in now.

After this new moon arrives, you may hear a secret that helps you make sense of a puzzling situation. Alternatively, it’s a very good time to attend to your health too, especially since you also have Jupiter in your sign. You may want to have a procedure you’ve put off or make an appointment with a professional therapist to talk over a situation you have been wrestling with lately. If you are having problems with a dependence on a certain drug, go for help at this time, while the Sun is moving through the twelfth house, for it is a place of healing in your chart.

Let’s turn to talk about Mars now, for you’ve probably had frustrations recently this past July and August when Mars, your ruler, was retrograde from June 26 to August 27. Within that period, Mercury was retrograde too, from July 25 to August 18, and on top of all that, we had three eclipses—July 12, July 27, and August 11. To say those two months were intense is an understatement. The three planets that orbit closest to earth we feel the most when retrograde, and those are Mercury, Venus, and, Mars. Once you get to December 6, you will be home free. While Mercury retrogrades every 12 weeks, three times a year, Venus and Mars will not retrograde at all in 2019.

You may be thinking of making a move or improving the look and feel of your home, but when Mars was retrograde in July and August, it was hard to make any progress at all. Now you can. When little Mars went direct on August 27, ever since he has been weak, stumbling around and bumping into furniture. He’s been rubbing his eyes, for he still had evidence of Mr. Sandman in them.

By October 8, Mars will reach full power. Start browsing spaces, but if your project involves improving your décor, with Venus retrograde (Venus rules beauty), you should wait to make those selections. Mars will help you make progress now. If you need to close on a house, you can do so now, but I love what’s coming for you early next year. The new moon, February 4, 2019, and the ten days that follow the new moon, will be your very best time to move or institute a home-related plan.

Venus retrograde in Scorpio may make you change your mind about someone you are attached to, but don’t make any final decisions until December or January. You might change your mind several times about this relationship (love or business in nature), so wait, and take time to think.

In terms of your looks, whether you are a man or a woman, with Venus retrograde, don’t schedule any new and untried dermatological treatments, no Botox (even if you do it all the time), and don’t have a face-lift or have cosmetic dental work done, such as having a full set of veneers put on. Women should not change the color or cut of their hair. Sit tight and wait for better days—I feel that acting after December 6 would be best, for with Mercury retrograde, as well, I would never make any changes to my face, if I were you.

On October 10, avoid doing anything of importance. Mercury (news, communication, travel) will receive a very harsh opposition from Uranus, planet of all things unexpected. This would be a very bad day to sign a contract, for the difficulties of the day would follow you for the entire term of the contract. Do not travel or hand in an important report. Keep a space of days around that date, October 10.

You might have quite a fun time on Friday, October 19, when Mercury receives a shimmering beam from Neptune. The transiting moon will be in Pisces, another big plus. Take a short trip to look at fall foliage, if you live in a climate where autumn is peaking (or if you live below the equator, such as Australia, South Africa, or Brazil, enjoy the blossoming of spring). The ensuing weekend, October 20-21, should be favorable for travel, fun, and love, too.

Now we come to a potentially difficult time of the month for your relationship, which will be triggered by the full moon in Taurus, October 24. This has the potential of being a difficult, even explosive, full moon, particularly if your birthday falls within the span of days October 22 to October 27.

Uranus will conjunct the full moon on October 24, in Taurus, and oppose Venus retrograde and Mercury, both in Scorpio, your first house. A relationship is sure to bring unexpected news, and when it comes, it may be jarring or shocking. The news will come out of left field and will not be about anything you are expecting. Saturn will be in a good position, however, and could provide a saving grace, for Saturn will move in to stabilize what comes up. Saturn is currently in your third house of negotiation and communication, so you will find the right words to say. Saturn will add reason, practicality, and objectivity to the situation, which will be a blessing.

October 29 brings one of the best days of the entire month, when Mercury will conjoin Jupiter in Scorpio. This is a blue-ribbon day, worthy of five stars. It’s the ideal day to sign a contract, travel, make a presentation, defend your thesis, give a speech, or to make the publication date of your book. You can also use this day to apply for a mortgage or close on a house, or, if you are selling a house, this date will likely bring the best price that you will get.

Finally, does your birthday fall between November 14 and November 19? Or do you have Scorpio rising between 22 and 29 degrees? Jupiter will be gliding over the degrees of your Sun or ascendant, making this the best time for you in over a decade. If your moon is in Scorpio between those degrees, you will find a beautiful new living space to rent or buy.

SUMMARY

The month starts out with a new moon in your twelfth house, October 8, suggesting you may hear of a secret that will surface at this time. It may solve a mystery that has been pressing on you for some time, as facts concerning one part of your life have not been adding up.

Be careful not to blurt out words impulsively on October 10, when Mercury (thoughts, perceptions, words) will oppose Uranus (sudden impulsive actions). Once the toothpaste is out of the tube, there is no getting it back in again.

Mars, your other ruling planet (you are one of the few signs that has two rulers), is still in your fourth house of home, an indication that you have been focused on moving or making improvements to your living situation. You’ve had this meditation since mid-May of this year. Things were held up when Mars went retrograde at the end of June through the end of August, and Mercury went retrograde within part of that time then, too. This may have frustrated you and delayed progress, but this month, as of October 8, both planets will be back to their former strength and will help you press forward. It may take until February to finalize your home-related plans.

Venus is going retrograde in Scorpio this month on October 5 until November 16, so you may vacillate about how you feel about a close relationship during this period. A retrograde planet is a weak planet, and among all the planets in our solar system, the three that orbit closest to earth—Mercury, Venus, and Mars—are the ones we feel the most directly when retrograde. It is unusual to see all three of these planets retrograde, one after the other, as Mars retrogrades every two years, Venus every 18 months, and Mercury retrogrades three times a year.

You are used to accessing the power of these planets, but when retrograde, the energy they beam to earth is muted, so you are forced to make up for that shortfall of cosmic help by supplying your own energy—an exhausting process that often falters. If you feel this year has required you to take three steps forward and two steps back, you have a point.

Mercury will retrograde again for three weeks on the day Venus goes direct next month, from November 16 to December 6. It is exasperating, but the message from the universe is clear: Slow down and examine the work you’ve done, and also take another look at the relationships you’ve forged, and find ways to make both areas better. Venus and Mars won’t retrograde in 2019, so you are looking at a strong year for launching new ideas and plans. With the planets finally in good shape by December 6, you will have a happy holiday season to look forward to this year.

The full moon in Taurus on October 24 will bring a relationship matter to culmination, but you seem to be of two minds about it. This might be about a business relationship, and if so, maintaining your professional reputation appears to be your main concern. If the topic, instead, involves your spouse or steady, realize this is a volatile full moon, so listen and say little. Events will be unstable, and in this atmosphere, you may not be seeing the matter clearly. If you say too much during a disagreement, you may cause scars that won’t heal.

If a relationship means something to you, treat this moment with care. If you must respond, wait until communication-planet Mercury will orbit arm in arm with benefic good-fortune Jupiter on October 29, helping you find the perfect words to create a warm, caring result.
