It is October, and as you blow out the candles out on your cake, you might make a wish to the universe to bring no more eclipses in Libra or your opposite sign of Aries. You have had a number of these eclipses since they began on April 15, 2014, followed by another lunar eclipse October 8, 2014, and then this year, April 4, 2015. You have just come through another lunar eclipse last month, a full moon lunar eclipse in Aries, September 27, that may have brought important changes in a close relationship or in regard to your health. This is doubly true if your birthday happens to fall on that date, or close to it.

You may have your wish, dear Libra. There will be only one more eclipse that will affect you from the Libra-Aries family of eclipses, and that will be the full moon lunar eclipse in Libra of March 23. This one will also focus in on Libra born in September.

The job of an eclipse is to hurry along life progress and evolve you to a new place of the mind and heart. Eclipses bring enormous amounts of information, and almost always with it, a floodlight of truth. Admittedly, they can be hard to adjust to once they arrive. Still, have faith that the universe is pushing you along to a new maturity, and if you are in need of protection in any way - from a difficult relationship, the wrong job, a glimmer of an illness that needs to be addressed - the eclipse will help you find it.

By now you have new information. If you didn't see any changes or hear news last month, you might hear something one month to the day later on October 27, plus or minus four days. (This would be true for approximately 20 percent of readers. About 10 percent may have seen news on August 27.)

You would not have felt this September 27 eclipse unless your birthday falls in September, or on October 1 or 2, or have Libra rising 4 degrees, plus or minus four degrees, or have a natal planet in your birth chart at 4 degrees in Libra, Gemini, or Aquarius, and again allowing a plus or minus tolerance of five degrees to that planet or rising sign.

Mercury retrograde in Libra was not helping you last month. Mercury is the planet of communication, commerce, perception, and negotiation, and when retrograde, things go haywire, especially in the communications area. Misunderstandings proliferate, so we all have to go the extra mile to make sure we have understood the message properly, and given one out clearly.

This three-week period of Mercury retrograde that started September 17 and will extend until October 9 may have proven to be especially frustrating because Mercury has been in Libra. You might have found you had to send one or more items to the repair shop, as gears and other parts break down, and weak links tend to show themselves. It is not wise to buy electronic items now, not until after October 9, as your new purchase will not please you as much as you hoped. You can buy new clothes, but just in case, save the receipt, because you may change your mind about how the item looks on you once you have it home. Once you get a day or two beyond October 9, you can begin to institute action, but I suggest leaving as much space as possible from October 9.

When Mercury wakes up, he is not fully functional. He needs time to wake up and have at least two cups of coffee and maybe a sweet cake before he will feel energetic again. He will not be back to former strength until October's end.

I get more letters and questions in social media about Mercury retrograde than any other subject. If you are about to take action on a project you started months (or even years) ago, it is fine to go back to that project during the retrograde and continue it. The same is true in regard to relationships. It's a good time to reconcile with a former love, but not a good time to begin a new relationship. If you were to accept a job offer from a person - perhaps a favorite former boss - from your past, you can. I will give you an example from my own life.

Last month I flew to Austin, Texas, to see Phunware, my app developer, to discuss changes I want to make to my current, new app, for it's been a little over a year since I introduced it. I wanted to add an ability for you to see videos easily on your smart phone, add special features and better navigation, and also add occasional push notifications that would help you when appropriate, such as "Mercury retrograde is over today!" These changes were for all my apps, on iPhone, Android, or Samsung Galaxy. My team at Phunware asked, "Mercury is retrograde right now, so is it okay for you to sign the work order and approve costs, or do you need to wait?" I replied, "I can start the process now! We are not starting work on a new app, but improving the one we introduced last year. Mercury is pleased when we continue to improve and polish an existing product." By the time I flew back to New York, the team was already working on my app, and I will let you know when it is ready.

As an aside, you won't have to buy the new app or pay for a new subscription when it comes out - those changes will be free, and the new version will slide into the one you already have on your cell phone. You can do this once I tell you it's ready, and you click "Upgrade" and then "Restore my subscription." So you see, you CAN do things during Mercury retrograde. It is wise to summarize all details of a project that you will work on with your boss or client, or else you may be continually redoing bits and pieces. In your personal life, notice how many shopping bags, totes, or other items you are carrying. Three? All day, make sure you have three with you. I find once I get to carry four items, things tend to get lost.

Now let's turn to October, a bit of a topsy-turvy month. It holds a difficult new moon, but many other glowing aspects too, and among those special ones are some of the best aspects of 2015. In this strange little month, the great aspects and the tough ones will be all tossed together like buttons in a sewing box. Let's first have a look at the one you probably won't like. We are all in this together - all the signs will feel the same one.

I am referring to the difficult new moon in Libra at 19 degrees to arrive October 12. To be clear, this is a new moon, not an eclipse, but nevertheless, this is a powerful new moon. This one will help you to clarify your own needs, but the process may be brought on by outside events that may shake you up initially. I am so sorry to have to report that news, as Libras have had enough of this kind of cosmic treatment. This time, a relationship may force you to think what would truly make you happy. If you are not happy in your love life, or are not getting along well with a business partner, you may break up now or in months ahead.

Uranus is called by astrologers the "great awakener." Uranus' method of enlightenment is so sudden, striking suddenly like lightning, and will oppose this new moon and Sun. The Sun rules your friendships and memberships in clubs and groups / club sector, so if a close partner is not the problem, then the culprit may be a friend who upsets you. If you belong to a group such as a tenants committee in your apartment building, or volunteer as a chairperson in a charity effort, you may have a disagreement with the leadership of that group.

Pluto will also be adding pressure on this new moon from your home sector. Pluto may make you wonder if it is time to move, renovate, do extensive repairs, or redecorate. If you are living with your sweetheart, you may move out. Or, you may be forced to attend to a repair, and if so, pay attention to your basement and to any new walls you may need to put up or take down. This would not be the best time to work on extensive changes in the structure of your apartment, house, or vacation cottage.

This new moon in Libra will set up a trend that will last five-and-a-half months until the full moon in Libra, March 23, will allow you to finally end the matter. This tells me that a romantic or platonic relationship (or, your membership in a group) will become an important area for you to keep an eye on in the coming months. Also Pluto's position suggests possible changes in your home or other property or in regard to your family.

I find that difficult aspects force us to recognize the situation and take action. We can no longer ignore the matter, and in the end, they give us the energy and motivation to finally create the change we need to make. In that sense, they are very positive and effective.

Despite the new moon's difficulties, you have a sparkling aspect at the very same time. In fact, it will be one of the best aspects of 2015 and is due to appear on October 11, when there will be sublime harmony between Jupiter (good fortune, happiness) and Pluto (powerful, transformational energy and experiences). Pluto is now in your home and family sector, so Pluto could help you make a killing in real estate this month. These two planets move very slowly and will be in ideal mathematical significance all month.

If you have to sell property, look carefully at the bids - one may be perfect and represent a high bid. If you are buying property, you may get a tip from a sibling or cousin about a new home you may want to bid on, and that property may appreciate quite a bit in the future if you plan to buy now or in the near future. Always check with your broker to get his or her opinion - there are too many variables in your own chart for me to advise you about investment in real estate in this column. I will say, this rare aspect, which will happen again March 16 and June 26 in 2016 (then not again for years), will help you get to a better living situation that should appreciate in coming years.

If you plan to stay where you are, you may be trying to sort out a family situation that has troubled you for a long time. Again, Pluto and Jupiter will help you heal. If you were adopted, for example, you will have a chance to locate your birth mother or father, if that is your aim. This month would be a perfect time to make a concerted effort to locate your birth parent.

Or, if you don't get along with a certain family member, it may point to something that happened years ago in childhood, for example, and it would be worth seeing a professional coach or therapist to explore your perspective on this matter. You have Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, also called the great healer, transiting your subconscious mind sector, along with Mars and your ruler, Venus. You could not wish for a better time to go into therapy to heal and find closure for that chapter in your life.

Next year, on September 9, 2016, you will enter one of the finest twelve months of your life when Jupiter enters Libra. You will want to start your golden era with no burdens from the past, dear Libra. Get off your chest anything that is pressing on you so that you can begin that critical, rare period with a clean canvas. Mars will give you the motivation to go for help this month, and Venus seems to suggest a gentle response from the therapist that will encourage you to continue. Those Libras who need to delete a substance, such as cigarettes or any other substance that is tearing down your heath, should go for help, for you can find relief and success.

Another day for help from behind the scenes, in a confidential meeting, will occur on Sunday, October 25, but you will feel this lovely energy already on Friday, October 24, as the energy moves toward a peak. A confidential meeting with any distinguished professional would go well on any of these days, October 23-25.

Money will be the topic of focus on October 27, plus or minus four days, when the full moon in Taurus appears. This is a friendly full moon, and Neptune will be beautifully oriented. It would be a good time to work on your finances, especially if you are thinking about buying a house and need a mortgage, or to refinance a mortgage. If you need a home improvement loan, you may hear back now if you already put in your application, or if you didn't do that yet, do it now.

Also at this full moon, assess your evolving financial needs. Think about insurance needs at this full moon and make changes that you may feel are necessary. It is also an ideal time to meet with your broker to see how your savings, stocks, and retirement portfolio have performed. Again, you can make adjustments if necessary.

In terms of love, next month will be exciting, so while things are quiet this month, focus on taking care of business. If you are attached, October 17 will be a special day, when Mars will align with Jupiter - a partner should be very good to you over this weekend. This is assuming you have a solid relationship with your current mate. If not, the help may come from a business partner.

Generally, if you are single, you will do best if you wait until next month. With Venus and Mars locked in a confidential house that also rules secrets, you may meet someone who is not available, but you may not be told this immediately. Be cautious. Next month Venus will move to Libra, and Mars will too - you will be in a fine position to find love, so be patient. Love is on the way.

You've come through a lunar eclipse late last month that tested the strength of your relationship, and now, a new moon will do the same after it arrives October 12. The Sun in Libra will be opposed to Uranus, planet of unexpected news, so you may need to brace for a development you don't expect. A friend may do or say something that may upset you, or your membership in a group may bring up a matter that you find strange and shocking. If your birthday falls near the date of the new moon, you will feel the effects strongly not only now but in the weeks and possibly months to come.

If you are single, you may feel eager to get introduced to a new partner, but with Venus and Mars in your twelfth house of secrets, it would not be the best time to get involved with the relationship now. Know your partner well before you embrace this relationship, because you will be liable to fill in the blanks with glowing qualities that your new love may or may not deserve. If you want to sell property, you would make an impressive profit on a sale any time this month, but particularly near October 10-11 when powder-keg Pluto will be in sync with good fortune Jupiter, a rare aspect that has not occurred since October 2012 and that almost always brings good news.

More financial dealings can be polished off within days of the full moon, October 27. A project or action you are taking related to real estate will likely appreciate enormously, for Pluto and Jupiter are in ideal sync all month. Although they will align perfectly on October 11, you will feel the benefits of this lovely aspect throughout the month, as both planets move across the heavens on their respective paths slowly.

Your favorite day of the month will be October 25, when your ruler, Venus, will cuddle up to Jupiter. A confidential project, product, or service that you announce (or create) on or near October 26 or October 27 will eventually exceed your expectations in popularity and profit.
