A Note from Susan Miller
NOVEMBER 2018
Dear Reader,
Tomorrow, I fly to San Diego to give my Year Ahead 2019 weekend seminar at the La Costa Resort & Spa in nearby Carlsbad, CA. I am doing a cool Yoga + Astrology 3-day weekend from November 2-4 with Alanna Zabel of AZIAM Yoga. Neptune will be trine the Sun, denoting extreme harmony and spirituality, making this the perfect weekend to recharge. This will be a calming weekend where we will set our intentions for the New Year 2019.
I will speak on Friday and Saturday evening, both talks different and very detailed, with plenty of time for Q+A. Men are invited too, of course—this would make a fabulous couples weekend.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
As the month begins, Mars will continue to light your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievements, so you are still in a period where you may be turning out one career victory after another. Mars will still be in Aquarius until November 15, so use this period to work on setting important ventures into motion next month, and in the meantime, get appointments in place with VIPs who can help you. Make presentations, have interviews, and do all you can to advance your career. You are in a new professional cycle and can accomplish much now, so give your career all you all the energy you have.
The new moon in Scorpio, 15 degrees, on November 7 will open a portal of opportunity in your partnership sector that will last ten days and allow you to seal a promise to one important person in your life. New moons are extremely powerful, and the actions you take after a new moon appears can affect you for a year—or forever.
You might get engaged or married soon. If so, consider making your engagement official next month, because this month, Venus, planet of beauty and happiness, will still be retrograde until November 16. (This is just as Mars leaves Aquarius, discussed above.) This means Venus is currently emitting a weak beam, and for such an important action dealing with love, you would ideally want the planet of love, Venus, in strong shape. Normally, you would be able to act on your plans soon after Venus turns direct on November 16, but her little copycat brother, Mercury will go retrograde on November 16 until December 6.
If you are thinking of hiring an expert, such as a new publicist, agent, lawyer, accountant, writing partner, or wedding planner, as some examples of one-on-one collaborators, see if you can wait to do so until next month, after December 6. Venus is tied not only to love but also to profit, the reason you would be wise to wait. No planet ever returns to full strength instantly, as it takes time for that planet to ramp up its energy. Mathematically, we can see that Venus will gradually get stronger after November 16 and be back to full, robust health on December 17.
As a Taurus, Venus rules your sign, so Venus plays an especially important role in your life. When Venus is retrograde, you may feel stymied and that your efforts to forge agreements are not quite clicking into place. Your efforts to join forces with others will start to work well beginning next month.
Even though you may need to wait to sign papers to make your union in love or business official, you will have help from Pluto at this new moon this month, and that indicates support from a powerful person. For example, if you are working with a foreign person or with a foreign entity, especially a publisher or broadcasting network, you will do especially well. Right now, Venus is in your work projects sector, but will move into your committed love and business relationship sector by December 2, making all your relationship better. All signs point to December as a better month for you. If you are single, you will do better meeting a solid romantic interest in December, too.
The day after the new moon brings November 8, a major cosmic event, the move of Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, into Sagittarius for the first time since November 24, 2006, to December 18, 2007. Jupiter will fill your eighth house of other people’s money, and this is very big news for you, especially in light of what was happening over the past few years.
Let’s rewind, and I will show you why Jupiter’s arrival is such good news for you. On December 23, 2014, Saturn entered Sagittarius, your eighth house of other people’s money, and remained there until December 20, 2017. Taurus always needs a nest egg to feel secure, but at some point during those three years (or for the entire time), you may have felt concerned about not having enough money put aside for your retirement or for emergencies.
Venus, your ruling planet, will be retrograde until November 16, a holdover from last month, and so you can do research but do not etch promises in stone just yet. This goes for romantic or business relationships, for Venus rules love, beauty, and in business, profits.
Now your financial situation will change from dark to light. Jupiter will beam his good fortune into your financial house, giving you the opportunity to make more money than you have seen in years, possibly the most ever in your life.
Your eighth house, where Jupiter is heading, is not the house of salary but the house where you receive money in large sums occasionally, such as from clients, or for money owed, like a bonus, commission, royalty, severance package, university financial aid or scholarship, inheritance, divorce settlement, or other court settlement. The money can also come in as a loan, such as an attractive mortgage or home improvement loan granted to you from your bank, or a sum of venture capital from an investor. It could also arrive as an insurance payout.
To make sure that you see this beauty and good fortune of Jupiter, you will have two events to show you proof of Jupiter’s goodness. The full moon on November 22 will be in Gemini and will light your second house of earned income. Near that same time, Jupiter will be very close to the Sun and new moon, indicating money is about to make its way to your bank account. Travel will glitter too, within four days of this date.
Mars and Neptune will be at odds with the full moon November 22, so if you are unclear about a financial matter, ask questions and, if possible, ask for backup. This could cause unpleasantness with a friend, so keep things above board, and make any promises between you very clear.
You will have one of the most special days of the year this month on Sunday, November 25, spanning into Monday, November 26, too. On these days you could hear news about money that would make you happy. The Sun and Jupiter meet each year in a different day, in a different part of your chart, and it’s one of the very best days of the year—worthy of five stars.
Use one of these days to plant a seed. You might start a new venture or have an important negotiation. Because your eighth house is the house of prize winnings, you can buy a scratch-off lotto ticket, just make sure you scratch the ticket on Sunday, November 25, for best luck. Don’t spend too much money on lotto tickets—if you are lucky you will win with very few tickets. Besides, I cannot tell from where your luck will emanate, as there are many possible sources.
On November 25 and 26, the Sun will take the goodness of Jupiter and multiply it many times over. Because the Sun rules Taurus’ fourth house of home, you may get superb news about a sale of property—it is likely to be the highest figure you will get. If you’re buying, you may hear that that your bid has been accepted for a house you had your heart set on. If you rent, you may find the space of your dreams. If you like where you live now, you may order the painters to come in with lovely results (even though Mercury will be retrograde).
You may also get outstanding family support for a home-related goal near November 25 or November 26, and this is true even if you have never received powerful support from your parent or aunt/uncle/grandparent/sibling before.
The following day, November 27, you have another wonderful day, when Mercury will conjoin Jupiter. The problem is that Mercury is retrograde, yet next month, on December 21, you will have another conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury, and by then, Mercury will be strong and robust, a far better day to sign a contract. Can you use this month’s conjunction at all? Yes, November 25 would be wonderful for visiting a former client, especially one you know well and would like to visit again face-to-face to develop more business. This day would be ideal for that aim
When it comes to holiday shopping, this year, you would do better to wait until after December 6, if you plan to purchase electronic items. Shopping for those items during the retrograde almost always produces a disaster. If you must buy an electronic gift during November 16 to December 6, buy a gift card to an electronics store where you know your recipient loves to shop, such as Apple, or if the person likes PC computers, Best Buy or another such store.
I know there will be holiday sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but no deal is a good deal if your recipient doesn’t like the product. The idea of shopping for gifts for the holidays is to make someone thrilled and happy, so be careful about shopping for electronics.
You can buy clothing and other items when Mercury is retrograde, as long as you save the receipts somewhere that you can put your hands on later, in case your recipient needs to exchange the item for a different size or color. Mercury rules moving parts and electronic sparks in machines, but Mercury will not affect your purchases of clothes or toys, as long as you do careful research.
If you plan to shop for diamonds or other precious gems, to be safe, wait until after December 6, as that is a very expensive purchase. Venus rules jewelry, so of course, it would never be a wise time to buy jewels until Venus moves ahead in a good, strong orbit, and Mercury, ruling commerce (buying and selling), will be strong, too.
Looking at the planets, it seems to me that retailers will offer even better sales than those on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when Mercury and Jupiter return to their conjunction on December 21. (After that, these two planets will not meet again like this until January 2, 2020, and after that, not until January 11, 2021.) I cannot guarantee that the retailers will, indeed, have better sales on December 21, of course, but let’s just be observant and see what happens. I do know that December 21 will be a great day for shopping, traveling, and signing an agreement. I will be waiting and watching along with you.
SUMMARY
During the years that spanned from December 2014 to December 2017, you may have been very concerned about money. During those years, you hosted Saturn in your eighth house, so you may have feared you did not have enough cash saved to retire someday. Possibly, you may have had a large tax bill that you could not pay in its entirety that might have put you on edge. If you divorced during those years, you may not have been pleased with the final settlement. If you were pleased with the settlement, you might not have been able to collect the amount owed you. Alternatively, you may have struggled to pay a mortgage, a student loan, or other obligation.
During that dark time, if you worked in sales or on a fee basis, made commission, received money from a licensing deal or clients, or possibly even negotiated a book advance, you probably found the money coming in to be too slow. That happened then, but this is now.
Saturn exited your financial eighth house on December 23, 2017, thank goodness, but you still needed a powerful aspect to make a noticeable difference—you now have it. This month, your money situation will change from gloomy to happy and bright
On November 8, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is heading to the same place in your solar chart that had given you grief from Saturn. Now money will roll to you in abundance, much to your delight. Money you see will come from previous efforts—possibly from a large uptick in business, if you are self-employed, or if in sales, through commissions, assuming you’ve been working hard on developing new clients.
If you write books, you may now earn a lucrative book advance and royalties. Money may come through licensing fees, an inheritance, an attractive bank loan, a mortgage with attractive fees, a sponsor investing in your business, or even by winning a sweepstakes or prize. Alternatively, soon you may be given a valuable gift. If you want a solid nest egg, you can build it in 2019.
On another topic, you have a sensational new moon on November 7 in Scorpio, your partnership sector. You may get engaged or married soon, and that surely is an exciting prospect. If you are already married, you can now choose a new goal to work on together—you both may want to save to buy a house, take an international trip of a lifetime, or add a baby to your family, as three examples of nearly endless possibilities. Pluto in your ninth house suggests that your financial adviser can help you come up with savvy investment ideas to grow your savings. A friend might inspire you with an exceptional goal you never thought about tackling, and this comes thanks to Neptune’s sweet vibrations to the new moon.
As a result of the new moon, November 7, if you are not thinking about a romantic partner or your private life with children, you may be using this new moon’s energy to draw up official papers to sign an agent, headhunter, real estate broker, new lawyer, publicist, writing partner, voice coach, or other person who will join you and bring much to the table to help you succeed. Don’t sign quite yet. Mercury will begin a retrograde period on November 16 and will turn direct on December 6. Wait until after Mercury regulates his orbit, and leave a space of days beyond December 6 for added safety.
Venus, your ruling planet, will be retrograde until November 16, a holdover from last month, and so you can do research but do not etch promises in stone just yet. This goes for romantic or business relationships, for Venus rules love, beauty, and in business, profits.
Having your ruling planet retrograde means you don’t have the support you are used to receiving from others, and you may be puzzled by why you have to work so much harder to accomplish your goals. By December, and certainly by January, things will click into place.
Do not schedule a face-lift, Botox, or any changes to your appearances this month—Venus rules good looks, and you may not be pleased with the result. It’s best to wait until after December 6.
This month, you can talk and create a folder of research, but decide to act next month or in 2019. The reason is that the day Venus goes direct, November 16, is the day after Mercury will go retrograde, never a time to sign contracts or make any definitive moves. Mercury will normalize its orbit on December 6. So if you want to get engaged, do so for the year-end holidays or in January. For now, refrain from publicly announcing your wedding date, and delay buying the ring. This is a month to talk, but not to act.
November 22 will be a full moon in your second house of personal income, savings, and spending. This full moon will continue your strong focus on money management this month and help you to finish up discussions. This full moon and Sun will receive a 90-degree challenge from Mars and Neptune, indicating you may be unclear about a financial matter that seems to put you in direct conflict with a friend. Still, you appear to be coming into quite a sum of money. If any money matter seems unclear, ask for more information.
The luckiest day of the year for everyone will span two days, November 25-26, and each sign will feel their luck differently. For you, Taurus, your luck will be purely financial. Consider buying a scratch-off lotto ticket so that you can be sure the day that the prize is announced is one of those two days. Don’t buy out all the lotto tickets in the store—buy just a few.
The exact source of your financial luck is unclear, and you won’t know precisely what your fortunate source will be. For this reason, be conservative in spending, for if you are meant to be lucky, you will be.
On November 27, Mercury will conjoin Jupiter, again for financial matters, but keep in mind Mercury will stay retrograde until December 6, so don’t sign any papers. You might find a bargain on this day, but if it is expensive, pass on it, unless you can buy it after December 6. Mercury and Jupiter will be back to conjunction on December 21, a peach of a day for signing papers, purchasing anything expensive (even a car), and for all travel.
You are coming into a divine time. During November, all of December, and through January 7, 2019, newly strong Venus will travel the entire time through your solar seventh house of marriage and business partnerships, adding warmth and a smooth interaction with your partner or significant other. You have so much to look forward to, dear Taurus.
