Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

With Mars moving through the upper regions your chart ruling distant lands, your mind will long for travel throughout April. You may have hatched a plan to visit a foreign country sometime after the new moon in January and if so, you either implemented that plan in late March or will now, in April. Saturn is orbiting close to Mars in April’s first week, so it appears you may have a goal to complete while on your trip. Your sign is known to have patience as one of your most sterling qualities, and in early April, that quality will come into play. Mars will push you to want instant result, but Saturn will say, “Not so fast.”

Just before you are ready to travel, you likely have been rushing to get all your assignments out the door, a trend that continues in the first four days. You had a full moon in Libra on March 31 last month, bringing an important deadline that you were working hard to complete. The usual support you count on getting might not be there – your assistant may be out sick or members of the team may be on vacation. All full moons wrap up projects and bring closure within four days of the date they appear. Work seems to be quite arduous, but you can do this, for it is not the first time you have had a lot on your shoulders, but it might take a lot of out of you.

Take care of your health, and if you need to lift a heavy item, such as a box of books, for example, do it the correct way, by squatting to protect your back. You will be so distracted by what you have to do, you may not be mindful of eating on time and getting enough rest. Libra rules the lower back, the reason why I point out the need to protect that part of your body.

Mercury will be retrograde until April 15, a continuance of a trend that began March 22 last month. Forces beyond your ability to control are at play, due to a buildup of planets moving through your behind-the-scenes sector. Until you can see what the glitches are that are holding up the works, you can’t quite address them. All things will be revealed in time, so there is no reason to stress. Mercury retrograde in Aries will make you forgetful and distracted, so it is not a time to sign a contract or to seal binding agreements. Conditions around you are in flux, and until you know the lay of the land, it’s best to hold back and wait until several days after April 15.

If you would like to learn more about Mercury retrograde, and why it is never wise to buy new electronic items during this phase, you might want to lo look at my article, “All You Need to Know About Mercury Retrograde” on the lower left hand side of my website of Astrology Zone. On April 2, Mars and Saturn will be conjunct in Capricorn, so you may feel frustrated that you cannot make faster progress. This is a classic stop-go aspect. It also is an aspect that warns against falls, so if you are in a new setting, watch where you are walking – bones and teeth are the most vulnerable. Capricorn is an earth sign that blends perfectly with your sign, so I don’t imagine you would have too much trouble with this aspect if you are careful.

The new moon in Aries on April is a complex one. It lights your house of all activities that happen out of view and behind the scenes. This part of your chart, the twelfth house, also rules the subconscious mind and your intuitive stirrings. This month, your instinct will protect you, so you must listen to what you are sensing around you, for the voice within you will be increasingly insistent until you listen.

This new moon of April 15 is not friendly and will be in direct odds with Mars and Saturn. These planets, in your chart, are based in your ninth house, which rules, aside from distant travel, international relationships, publishing or broadcasting projects, the courts and/or legal matters, and anything related to colleges, graduate school, exams, or other topics that come under academia. One of these areas may bring up an obstacle, and it may take time to fix. I say this because this is a new moon, and new moons set up a trend that lasts six months, which would bring you to the end of September. We will all feel this difficult aspect, but in different ways, so don’t feel singled out.

If you have been suffering from a dependence on a substance of any kind, this new moon of April 15 may bring you a startling realization that this is the time you need to seek help. That’s a fantastic development, for it means you can be on the road to recovery, and eventually be free from what has had a hold on you. You may assume this problem will be too difficult to overcome, but you can do it. As a Taurus, when you commit to a goal, by George, you get it done, and wild horses would never be able to prevent you from achieving your quest. With the right coach, you can benefit from techniques others have used and found effective, so be optimistic and begin after the new moon of April 15.

Another full moon will occur on April 29 in your house of partnerships, both romantic and business in nature. This new moon will have you thinking about making a relationship official, either through marriage or, if it is a professional collaboration, by signing papers. This new moon is friendly, and Saturn will bring his gifts of stability and security, making this an ideal time to make a lasting promise – to get engaged or wed or to formally take on an agent, manager, publicist, writing partner, lawyer, or other collaborator.

As a Taurus, when you commit to a goal, by George, you get it done, and wild horses would never be able to prevent you from achieving your quest.

You have superb aspects when it comes to joining forces to make a serious partnership, and in fact, it would be wiser for you to do this than try to do everything yourself. You have Jupiter, the great good fortune planet, in your partnership sector (seventh house), and you waited more than a decade for this advantage.

If you are ready to wed, this is the best year in twelve years to tie the knot. In business, say, if you are a lawyer or agent, for example, and regularly represent various clients, in 2018 one of your clients will turn out to be a gem and make you excellent money. If you are the talent, it appears you will now find the right person to represent you, a person who comes with excellent contacts and who will prove to be highly effective in pushing your career forward. This person is practical and is quite a good negotiator – that would be you, or the person you represent.

Jupiter and Pluto will reach mathematical perfection on April 14, but because these two planets inch so slowly across the sky, you will feel the glow of these planets all month. In fact, they will stay close all through the coming months, and make one other decisive aspect later in 2018. That will happen on September 12, before Jupiter and Pluto spin off in separate directions, not to collaborate for several years. If you want to sign papers or get married, there’s no reason to wait, and this full moon of April 29 may make that abundantly, joyously clear.

If you are looking for a new place to live, or to enliven your present space, you may feel hit with a creative lightning bolt on April 18 when the Sun and Uranus align. If you were considering the idea of living in a foreign country, much to your surprise, pieces of your puzzle will click into place this month. Be ready and decisive. If it is not a living space that surprises you or finding the perfect piece of new furniture at the perfect price, it may be that you get surprising family news.

Also this month, Uranus, the surprising, rebellious, creative, disruptive planet, is now at 29 degrees Aries, the last degree of the sign before it enters Taurus on May 15. You seem on the verge of a new lifestyle, one very different from the one you have now. Uranus will re-enter Taurus to stay permanently in Taurus for seven years, beginning March 6, 2019, but this year, Uranus will give you a preview of what is to come, from May 16 to November 7. The later you are born in the sign, the longer you will need to wait for a complete change of lifestyle, but will happen, if you want it to happen. Those born in April will feel this trend immediately, beginning in May, next month.

When Uranus re-enters Taurus on March 6, 2019, he will remain there until April 2026. This will be the first time since 1934-1942 that Uranus has been in Taurus, so this is an important event for you. Those born in the week of April 20-23 will feel the Uranus-in-Taurus influence now, as you are born early in the sign. You may move, possibly to a foreign country under this trend, and the nature of your work will become revitalized and change too. While as a Taurus, you usually like things to remain as is, look at the coming period as an adventure and the start of an entirely new chapter of your life. Uranus takes 84 years to circle the Sun, so many people never get to experience what you are about to experience over the coming seven years – it’s a once in a lifetime trend, and it will be very liberating and exciting.

This month you seem to have Cupid working just for you. Venus entered Taurus on March 30 and will stay until April 24. This is a wonderful vibration, and if you want to work on your appearance, do so from April 15-24, after Mercury is done being retrograde. Whether you are a man or a woman, you can buy fabulously chic clothes, and you can ask your salon designer or barber if there is a way to style your hair and overall look in a new, fresh way.

There will be several days that will sparkle for you. During the first days of April, Uranus now orbiting the end of Aries will be within three degrees of Venus in Taurus, an electric, exciting vibration for you if there ever was one. You may feel hit by a thunderbolt when you lock eyes with someone new as you go through your daily rounds, or when you are introduced at a friend’s party. Even a blind date, set up by a friend, may click perfectly. Attached? You will also feel the excitement, for how could you not? Quick – book that romantic restaurant reservation.

Venus is the planet of love, but also happens to be your guardian planet now and forever. When Venus is happily interacting with other planets, you are likely to be happy, too.

On Saturday, April 7, Venus and Saturn will be in lovely alignment, making it a day when promises made will be promises kept. The transiting moon will be in fellow earth-sign Capricorn, giving this day a special dazzle.

On April 10, the classic cosmic lovers, Venus and Mars, will both be in earth signs, with Venus in Taurus and Mars in Capricorn. Venus and Mars will circle each other in a dance of love. This should be a charming day, and if you are single, you may meet someone new when you hardly expect that to happen – that’s how Venus and Mars work! If you are attached, few planets can jazz things up like this duo.

On April 12, Venus in Taurus will reach out to Neptune in Pisces for a supremely glamorous evening. Neptune is the planet of dreams and visions, beauty, and grace. It’s hard to top a day like this.

Finally, April 23 is one of the finest days of the month, when Mars and Jupiter will join forces and bring an outstanding time to take a vacation with your one-and-only. This is an outstanding day, when Mars in your house of distant shores will signal lucky Jupiter in your house of partnership. If you have to take a business trip instead on April 23, you can use this day for that, too – go with your collaborator (agent, writing partner, publicist, or other one-on-one person you’ve teamed up with), and you’ll likely come back with a sizable order!

SUMMARY

Mars is lighting your house of travel, and you are ready to expand the edges of your world by traveling far and wide. It’s very possible you will visit a country beyond the borders of your land to experience a fresh new setting. It’s the ideal time to do so. If you can’t travel, you might be in college, enjoying your courses, or if you have already graduated, you might sign up for interesting continuing education classes. If you work in the media or in law, you will enjoy the work you do this month, for the subject matter will give you a periscope into a subculture that you will you fascinating.

In the first week of April, Uranus, the planet of all things unexpected, will be orbiting close to Venus in Taurus, producing a completely unique experience for you. Love will be exciting and quite electric. You might get carried away, so go slowly!

As you begin April, you will be busy working to finish a project no later than April 4, and very possibly a few days before that. Staff you need to help will be absent due to colds or vacations, so you may need to have contingency plans in place for temporary workers you may to hire in a hurry.

You have a lot going on in foreign shores, and you may be traveling to a country that requires a passport for entry or working from your regular base with people in an international setting. If you want to go on a vacation, you have an ideal time to do so, and may be able to combine business with pleasure.

Keep in mind that Mercury will be retrograde this month, a trend that started March 22 and continues until April 15. You need to go the extra mile to clarify all communication, for doing so will save time and money. If you work in publishing or broadcasting, life will be hectic and accuracy will count. Some Taurus may be interacting with executives in academic settings – things should go well if you schedule your meetings after April 15.

April 15 is not only the date Mercury ends its retrograde, but also the date of the new moon in Aries. At this point, you will be urged to retreat inside and work on a creative project behind closed doors. It’s also a good time to address physical and psychological concerns, as well as any habit you’d like to change and be free of from now on.

In love or business, you may be planning to make a commitment at the full moon April 29, in Scorpio, strong for plus or minus four days. This full moon will appear in your house of marriage and partnerships of all kinds. You may sign a business partner to make your alliance official, or you might get engaged or married. If you are already wed or in an established work relationship, you will hear important news from your partner, and both of you will benefit and feel more secure from what occurs.

Venus will be in Taurus until April 24 and will make you irresistible to admirers. Best dates for love include Saturday, April 7 (Venus and Saturn make all promises heartfelt and long lasting), April 12 (Venus and Neptune will sprinkle glamorous sparkling pixie dust over the night sky), and April 17 (Venus and Pluto make passion burn brightly).

If you would like to take a romantic vacation, think about going away on Monday, April 23 – perhaps using this day as the end of a long weekend started on April 20 through April 23. That would be a sweet for a romantic weekend for two. You would have sumptuous accommodations, perfect for any type of trip, including a breathtaking honeymoon.

You have a busy month, balanced with plenty of time for love and fun.
