Leo Horoscope for December 2015
By Susan Miller
In December, you have one of the most romantic outlooks of any sign, lucky you! You will begin to see evidence of the bewitching spell December will cast over you almost the moment the month begins.
Over the weekend of December 6-7, the Sun, your ruling star, will contact energetic Mars, and because the Sun will be transiting your true love sector until December 21, that weekend could turn out to be one of your best. That weekend would be ideal for attending a holiday party, and if you do accept, you seem to have to get there by car, bus, or rail. The distance is likely to be small, between 25 and 500 miles, and certainly within a day's drive from your base. This day is activating your third house, which rules, aside from travel, all communication, so any celebration you attend would bubble up with fun and conversation, where guests are happy to reconnect with one another and hear what has transpired over the past year. Guests would also be open to making new friends, providing an open, welcoming atmosphere.
Here's a point to remember, dear Leo: Whenever I mention that your ruler, the Sun, is involved in an aspect, it means you will feel that aspect more strongly than almost any other sign. No other zodiac sign is ruled by the Sun - only you - although I will say that Mars, also involved in the aspect, rules Aries, so the Aries, like you, will love this weekend and benefit from it too. In the coming paragraph, on December 8, again your ruling star, the Sun, will be sweetly involved with another planet, and this time it will be genius-planet Uranus, the planet that governs Aquarius. This means Leo and Aquarius will both find December 8 to be special but in different ways.
Okay, now let's look at December 8, the other day I just spoke about that deserves a big gold star on your calendar. You may be covering many more miles than you did earlier in the month on December 8, when again your ruling star, the Sun, will contact surprise-a-minute Uranus. This trip may happen spontaneously, which only adds to the fun. At this time, if you do travel, you are likely to go to a distant point. The Sun "trine" Uranus is a heavenly aspect, so you are sure to enjoy this day and the days surrounding it.
December 8 is a workday - a Tuesday - so you may be traveling for work, or you may hear completely different news. A publishing or broadcasting project may come up on December 8 or bring kudos to you if you recently finished it, and it's now out there for the world to see. News from a university or college may make you very happy. Certainly if you are a graduate student, this would be a fine day to defend your thesis or take a major qualifying test, or if you are about to become an undergraduate next semester, to electronically file your application for admission (or receive an exciting letter inviting you to early admission). Another area that may prove to be lucky for you too may involve (pick one): international relationships, immigration issues, legal actions, or news from the courts.
Later I will get to Christmas Day, but I wanted to pause here to say that our Jewish friends will be celebrating Chanukah starting December 7, which is a date that falls in between the two glittering dates I just discussed, the weekend of December 5-6, and December 8, a fine omen that lots of fun is due with family and friends for those celebrating.
Keep in mind that December will be a very productive month, but alas, January will not. We will have Mercury retrograde all through next month, from January 5 to 25. That Mercury retrograde period will bring delays, as well as changes and difficulties that were not anticipated.
Whenever you hear that Mercury is about to retrograde, it means the wind is about to change direction, so it is not the time to make any important actions or decisions. Until the dust settles you won't know which way things are headed. It's not a time to sign contacts, open your doors to a new business, or to do anything new and important, especially in the communications arena. It would not be the time to publish a book, for example, if you can help it. If you act while Mercury is retrograde, later you will have to redo things, and you will say to yourself, "Had I only known..."
Don't try to outrun Mercury - it is likely too late to act now. (You would have to launch in December's first half.) Mercury will show clear signs of a slowdown as soon as December 19. It would be especially bad to introduce a new website, blog, or redesigned website in January, because those are considered "communication projects" over which Mercury has dominion. If you were thinking of launching a digital project in January, odds are your IT people won't have the code ready by January. Or if they do have it ready, your users (or readers) won't like it, the navigation may be flawed, or the site itself won't work properly. Something will be wrong that will bring you heartaches, and it will need more work and more money poured into it, perhaps that you had not anticipated. (Stay with me here, for I will explain more.)
Don't push against delays - you would be FAR better to launch anything digital after the brilliant new moon in the electronic sign of Aquarius, February 8. That's a Monday, but wait a day or two after that particular new moon appears. A new moon opens a portal of energy that lasts two weeks, so actions you take during that time can affect you for an entire year to come. (That is assuming that new moon is an encouraging one, as the one February 8 will be.) The days that FOLLOW the new moon in the first week it occurs will always be the best time to launch, for the energy is always strongest in the dates that cluster AFTER the new moon arrives.
Think of the beautiful new moon as a gorgeous blonde woman with long hair, dressed in a white satin ball gown, opening two huge heavy wooden doors of a castle and a road ahead. Those doors had been previously locked tight, but now the new moon has opened them for you. That's a new moon. Indeed, always act AFTER the new moon arrives to open those doors, never in advance of the day it appears, because that lovely new moon cannot help you if jump the time and you act beforehand.
A new moon has very different timing from a full moon. New moons are an ideal time to initiate a fresh start or to plant seeds, while full moons will bring culminations to projects, relationships, and other events and endeavors.
While we are on the topic of dates to avoid, this month, warrior Mars will oppose unpredictable Uranus on December 10. This 180-degree opposition cuts across your travel sectors, so December 10 would be a terrible day to travel. It does not matter whether your trip would be for business or personal reasons. Whether you want to travel near or far, stay home on this day. If you have to travel by car on this day, make sure your mechanic gives you the nod to go ahead and drive, with an assurance that your car is in good working condition for any weather conditions you may encounter.
If you plan to fly on December 10, bring lots of reading material to the airport. If you are like me, you like to work on your computer as you sit at the gate. For that reason, bring along your computer AC cord instead of packing it deep in your suitcase. Delays are likely, possibly due to the weather, so you may run out of power by the time you get on the plane, which to me is a nightmare. Maybe you agree. (I work hard on planes and never go to sleep. When we land after six hours from New York to Los Angeles, I always am a little disappointed and wish we could spin around in the air for an hour or two longer! No one talks to me at 37,000 feet - unlike what happens in my office - so I can get a lot of writing done!)
There is another two days, coming over a weekend, when I will not recommend you travel: December 19-20. Mercury will be in hard angle to Uranus, so all sorts of events could happen out of left field to slow you down and keep you sidelined. My younger daughter, Diana, lives in Los Angeles, and of course, I want to see her for as many days and hours as possible at Christmas time. She has jury duty too at the end of December, so her time to be in New York (where I live and where her sister lives) will be more limited than usual. I had to tell Diana NOT to fly over the weekend of December 19-20, which will shorten her stay even more. Accordingly, Diana will have to come in on days that fall extremely close to Christmas and leave quickly too, to get back to LA to do jury duty. If that weekend of December 19-20 had good aspects, I would have more glorious time with her. Sometimes life is that way, and there is nothing we can do about it. I tell you this so you see that I truly don't like that weekend for travel, and as a family, we follow my advice, even when it is frustrating to have to do so!
Oh gosh, sometimes situations like this can't be helped. Fortunately I spend a lot of time in Los Angeles to shoot my TV show in Hollywood, and I get to see Diana at that time. To see my show (30 minutes in length), go to my website online, using your computer or tablet, anytime, globally, for free -

The new moon, December 11, will be as the as delicious as the chocolate icing on a Yule Log cake from a fabulous French bakery. This new moon in Sagittarius, 19 degrees, will light your fifth house of true love, so if you are single, by all means, be out and about, meeting and mingling. You may meet someone special at a party you go to or that you give (ask friends to bring along someone they would like to introduce to you). Uranus will liven things up by providing the element of surprise, so have faith, dear Leo! Cupid will be working hard for you! (Fortunately Saturn, also in Sagittarius, will be too far away in that constellation to become a wet blanket to your plans. Yay!)
The fifth house, where this new moon will fall, also rules pregnancy and birth. If you hope to have a baby, this new moon and the two weeks that follow it, would be the perfect time to conceive, or if you are already pregnant, you may be ready to give birth. If you have had problems with conception, do your homework early in the month to locate the right fertility doctor for you - ask friend for advice on a doctor they trust for this purpose, and look up each doctor's background on the Internet. Conception in December would be ideal for you. It's especially lucky after the new moon December 11 appears.
Mars and Jupiter will also be vibrant and in agreement with this new moon, December 11, suggesting again, you may need to travel again in the coming weeks (most likely for business), and the fact that Jupiter will be brought into the discussion suggests that this new moon will help you to see an uptick in your finances in the days to come.
If your birthday falls on August 11 plus or minus four days, you will do exceptionally well with this new moon. If single, your chance of meeting someone new and exciting in the romantic sense will be very strong. Wear an evening outfit that makes you feel like a celebrity. If you are attached, you will have more quality time to give your partner (and vice versa), and so you can now bond closer.
You would also benefit in similar way if you have Leo rising at 19 degrees or have a natal planet in your chart in Leo, Sagittarius, or Aries at 19 degrees, and in all cases, give that rising sign or planet a plus or minus four degrees.
Your career may bring superb news on December 17 when Venus winks at Pluto. More good news may come right after that, on December 19 (or the day prior) when Venus conjoins Pluto, a powerful day. I say this because Venus is the natural ruler of your tenth house of fame and honors. You may get a promotion or enviable publicity in the press.
A beautiful day is coming up on December 24, Christmas Eve. Venus will sextile Jupiter, considered to be an aspect of opportunity, and Venus will see to it that your professional reputation will again be on the rise. At the same time, you seem to be getting your apartment or house "just so" and very stylish. I say this because Venus will tour your home sector (fourth house) all month, from December 4 to 29, a perfect time to refresh your space to make it more reflective of the true you.
On December 24, Venus in your home sector will be in conversation with lucky Jupiter. Jupiter is currently in your earned income sector (second house), so it appears that if you need a mortgage, refinancing plan for your present mortgage, or a home improvement loan, the money you need will be forthcoming. In terms of your salary, you seem to be doing well too. You will feel these aspects whether or not you celebrate Christmas, for they are being sent to you from a loving universe. Everyone will love December 24, and each sign will love it for different reasons.
Christmas Day, December 25, will bring the full moon in Cancer at 3 degrees. After a very social month, it appears by this point that you will crave rest and privacy. Guard your health as you get closer to December 25, for after a month of being with many people, you might be susceptible to colds.
This full moon, December 25, will be in Cancer, the sign of home and family, and being beautifully aspected, this should result in a truly beautiful holiday for those who celebrate Christmas or Kwanzaa on December 26. You will feel cuddled in the arms of family, and very loved. Neptune will be active and bring you great inspiration from those you love and hold close. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus, taking the love that Venus brings and developing it to a much deeper level. This holiday may be so spiritual and special, the emotions of the day may take your breath away.
If you don't celebrate Christmas or Kwanzaa, you will still adore this vibration, so use the day to call your Mom and Dad, or pay them a visit. If your mother and father are no longer with you, don't be alone - see friends or possibly a sibling (as there is a strong emphasis on your sibling all month). Have fun looking at old photographs and talking about when you were little, and when they were little too.
With Jupiter and Mercury so perfectly angled on December 25, too, you may get an exceptionally beautiful and valuable gift, or a generous year-end bonus. You will hear from friends, family, and co-workers too, and their messages of cheer will simply add to the joy of the day.
New Year's Eve, December 31, will bring the transiting moon to Virgo, and Jupiter, the generous, happy planet, will conjoin the moon to make for a very festive month. You will be in the mood to spend money, so go ahead, dear Leo - treat yourself. Your outlook for now and many months to come shows that money will continue to pour in generously, at least until early September. Life is meant to be lived fully, and no one is better suited to teach us all that fact than Leo. You will have a very happy holiday.
Summary
What a glorious month of December you have in store! You will have many options. You can find a travel package and head to the airport, or you can opt to stay home and accept the many party invitations that seem destined to come your way after the arrival of the new moon of December 11.
If you do decide to flee town, avoid going December 10 and the weekend of December 19-20, for those dates are due to be rife with travel difficulties. Staying back to enjoy the many parties your friends will want you to attend could be your best bet, and if single, socializing may bring an introduction to someone new.
Next month, January, Mercury will be retrograde from January 5 to January 25, but you will feel the slowdown as soon as December 19. The coming weeks would not be a time to launch anything new - not a new project, digital enterprise, or relationship. Mercury retrograde is also not a time to shop for electronics or anything super-expensive, for you are not likely to enjoy your purchase. With all this in mind, aim to conclude your most vital ventures by December 19 - not a moment later.
The new moon of December 11 will bring on a whirl of social and romantic possibilities, the most of 2015. How fortunate you are to have this new moon coinciding with holiday time. If you want to give a party, Venus will tour your home sector from December 4 to 30, so your timing would be perfect. Your very best day will be December 24, when Venus and Jupiter will conjoin and motivate you to create an especially stylish, warm, and welcoming fete that would be the talk of friends and family for a very long time.
After that, the full moon will occur in Cancer on December 25 and light your most private sector, your twelfth house. By then you may be feeling a need to withdraw into the peacefulness of your safe haven - your apartment or house - and if you have a sweetheart or spouse, you might want to spend quiet, quality time together. Be very careful to keep your health up to par all month, for December will demand much from you, and you may run yourself down just when you will want to be at your strongest and most vibrant on December 25.
Venus will tour your true love sector from December 30 to January 23, boosting you into high spirits for weeks. You may switch from attending lots of gatherings with friends, to spending more private time with your partner. If you have no special someone, have faith that the New Year may bring you a romantic meeting this month, as Venus will remain in your romantic sector for weeks.
Spend "just us" time together with your special someone and enjoy the beauty of the season. If the relationship is new, you will have no reason to rush it forward. Instead, savor it. New Year's Eve may be best spent creating a beautiful meal at home, or booking a four-star restaurant you've been meaning to try for the two of you. Dear Leo, you have one of the most social and romantic forecasts of all the signs, so enjoy the month. It belongs all to you.
