Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

Your chart shows so much opportunity for travel, it seems nearly impossible for you to stay home. As the month opens, you will still be feeling the effects of the enchanting February 26 solar eclipse that occurred just days prior to the start of March. If you can travel to a magical, snowy setting or one on a white-sand beach near turquoise waters, you would find the trip quite heavenly. That eclipse came conjunct Neptune, so you would be drawn to water, ice, snow, ponds, brooks, or seaside.

The same eclipse may bring you a contract to sign, as the third house where the eclipse took place also rules legal papers. I would rather you wait on signing papers for two reasons. First, Neptune was very prominent at the solar eclipse, and although Neptune can provide inspiration, in terms of legal contracts, this planet tends to confuse and obfuscate.

Secondly, Venus is about to retrograde, March 4 to April 15, not to return to full power until May 18. Venus rules your prestigious tenth house of professional honors, awards, and achievement, the very highest point in your chart. This is not good news for your career progress, for Venus retrograde makes this month and next month slow and uncertain. However, the coming two months will be best used for analysis, observation, and tweaking past actions in your career, but not for launching new actions. If you are patient, you will use this period to your advantage.

You might say, “What if I am signing a lease or selling a house?” The news is not good on that count either. Venus RULES your most important career sector, but right now Venus is also TRANSITING your home sector, so both are on hold right now. This makes me leery about you signing anything home-related either. Hold off for now, as Venus will mess up your plans for home AND career, but just for a little while.

Venus is the planet of good looks, beauty, design, and embellishment. When retrograde, it is not the time to schedule plastic surgery, or to have any new or experimental dermatological treatments, Botox, filler injections, or a change in hair color. Men, don’t change your looks either – don’t shave off your beard or grow one. This is not the time to spend a lot of money on designer sunglasses either. Anything having to do with your face must remain constant. You can have trims and other routine grooming, but avoid radical changes for you might not like them later!

Mercury is about to retrograde too, April 9 to May 3. That makes signing papers a big no-no next month, for Mercury is the planet of communication, negotiation, perception, thinking, and commerce. It is never wise to sign papers when Mercury is retrograde because during this period, the conditions around you are changing. The list of priorities you have now will likely change later after you see the dynamic shifts that will take place later. The rule of thumb is that any papers you sign with Mercury retrograde have to be renegotiated later to fix the problems, assuming that you would even want to renegotiate – you would more likely want to simply throw in the towel and leave. The eclipse will keep you very busy in weeks and months ahead, through August, for eclipses are powerful and have a very long period of influence. You will need to be very organized, lest an important detail or message falls through the cracks and gets missed.

If your birthday falls on December 29, you will benefit from the February 26 eclipse that I described so far in your report. The same is true if you have Capricorn rising or the moon in Capricorn at 8 degrees, plus or minus five degrees. The same is also true if you know you have a natal planet in your chart at 8 degrees (plus or minus five degrees) in Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn.

More travel is indicated at the full moon, March 12 in Virgo at 22 degrees. At this time, you may be returning home from a very distant trip, possibly from overseas or to a location very far from your city within your own country. I say that because full moons bring closure or a finish. You seem to have a goal to complete on the trip you take near this full moon, so you may be traveling for business, or maybe not. It might be you are interviewing colleges to send your application next year if you are in high school, or you might be thinking about moving to a new part of the country to find new job opportunities.

The trip that you take in the first half of March could be quite special and turn out to be awe-inspiring for, remarkably, with Pluto’s strong support, you will have the capacity to become transformed by it.

The trip you take that is distant in nature, in the first half of March, could be quite a special, awe-inspiring trip for, remarkably, you will have the capacity to become transformed by it. I say that because Pluto in Capricorn will be in an ideal angle to the full moon. Saturn, however, will be in hard angle, which suggests that you will have some difficulties reaching the goal you set for yourself. This does not mean you can’t reach that goal – you can overcome any obstacle, but you will have to be committed to this goal, and try hard and show passion.

If your birthday falls on January 12, plus or minus five days, you will do well with the full moon of March 12. The same is true if you have Capricorn rising or the moon in Capricorn at 22 degrees plus or minus five degrees. Similarly, if you know your natal chart, if you have a planet at birth that falls in Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces at 22 degrees, plus or minus five degrees, you will do well too. Be sure to take notes about what happens at the full moon, for you will learn more by watching dates after events occur.

At month’s end, on March 27, you will have a new moon in Aries, 8 degrees, in your house of home and family. Dear Capricorn, you have had so many changes in regard to your living quarters and here comes more, but only if YOU want them to happen. This time, those changes will not be thrust on you. In February, you seem to have had a lot of noise at home – banging, clanging, drilling, people coming in and out – I can only imagine that you’ve had movers, workman, contractors, cable guys, furniture delivery men, your decorator, or else lots of guests coming in and out and staying with you. Or, you may have given a party and invited lots of happy people.

The same fourth house of home also rules your parents, so you may have been thinking about the care of your mother or father, by supervising the companions who live with your parent if at home, or in choosing an assisted living or nursing home facility. In this case you would be checking in regularly to make sure your parent is well treated. This new moon will help you make progress with these matters.

Here’s some surprising happy news. Mars, the great energy planet, will move into Taurus and your true love sector on March 9 to stay until April 21. This is wonderful, for you’ve been so consumed with career and home, you need a little fun. If you are single, this is great news, for Mars will help you meet new people, and among them one may stand out as someone you’d like to know better.

In any good plot, there are challenges, and yours comes in the form of Venus retrograde. Earlier I discussed that Venus will retrograde March 4 to April 15, and not attain back to full power until May 18. Venus is the ruler of your solar tenth houses of prestigious career but also your fifth house of love. I would like you to circulate socially, but not to form a close new relationship just yet. You might quickly become attached to someone new and assign this person all kinds of great qualities, but this person might not quite deserve your full admiration on every count. In other words, you may be excited and happy but not quite seeing the object of your affections clearly. It’s best to go very slowly into any new relationship, for with Venus out of phase, you may find the warmth and affection in this alliance lacking.

It is possible you might try to reconcile with a past sweetheart now, and the result of that is anyone’s guess. That is a tough question because the cards are slightly stacked against this relationship reuniting. Still, I believe in the enduring power of love, and if there is only a flicker of a tiny chance that you can come together again, I am all for it. (Yes, I am a romantic at heart.) Only you can decide what to do, but I will say that Venus retrograde will ask you to re-examine, re-address, re-think past actions and decisions and learn from moves that took you off course. That is possible, of course!

Next month, Mercury will also retrograde too, from April 9 to May 3, but not reach full power again until May 20. You will feel Mercury, the planet of communication, negotiation, and perception, going out of phase two weeks prior to April 9 – the slowdowns and mixed messages will be evident. As you see, we are entering a period to stop, look, and listen, but not act quite yet. We always feel the retrogrades of the so-called personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) much more than the retrograde of the outer planets. Mars is in fine form, but Venus and Mercury are about to go quite weak.

You might be saying to yourself, “I have the perfect placement for Mars in my house of true love, but Venus and Mercury are about to mess up the help I am due from Mars.” I thought about this, but I don’t think that will happen if you play your cards right. Okay, I admit that I am not enthusiastic about you starting a new relationship with Venus retrograde. I am also not enthusiastic about doing so with Mercury retrograde, because your perception and reasoning ability may be a little off. Mars will remain in your love sector until April 21, and so your social profile will rise, and in the weeks ahead, you will gain confidence in love. Here is what I have not told you yet: the finest new moon for love of the year (in Taurus) that will surely stimulate your love life will come on April 26. After April 26, you have an open road ahead.

If you are married, or in a long-term established relationship, you will have fun too, especially after the new moon in Taurus appears on April 26. When Mars is in Taurus from March 9 to April 21, you will not be as affected as your single Capricorn friends. You can return to places you and your mate used to frequent together, where you can recapture happy memories. This would be a great way to use Venus retrograde. If you have been hoping to conceive a child, you may want to try any time AFTER the new moon next month, April 26, or put in adoption papers for then. If you have children now, Venus retrograde will allow you time to spend with them – a family vacation taken this month or in early April could be wonderful, even if you only travel over a long weekend.

As a bonus to you, Mars in Taurus will also make you very creative during this period, a big boost if you are paid for your ideas at work, are an artist, or if you take your creativity for a personal pastime seriously. You will be amazed at your own ability to create sterling ideas that move others emotionally – give your creativity a chance to fly.

Summary

You may be in contractual talks as you begin March. The solar eclipse that occurred just days before March began (February 26) is still sending light to your third house of contracts. Even so, is not be the right time to sign, for that eclipse was (and still is) orbiting close to Neptune, the planet of confusion. If you sign now, you may be agreeing to terms that are not being clearly spelled out. It will be vital that you consult a lawyer, for you must have full understanding of the terms of the agreement.

The same third house, however, rules writing of all kinds, not just contracts, including imaginative, creative writing such as for a novel, screenplay, or lyrics for music or words of poetry. In that case, Neptune, the planet of dreams and symbols, will be your muse and inspire you to create enchanting work that is cinematic, visual, and at the same time tender in its descriptiveness and appeal. If you want to travel, early to mid-March would be an ideal time to go – with many heavenly bodies in Pisces, choose a place near water. You may be coming back from overseas or from a location far from your base in your own country near March 12, due to a full moon lighting your house of travel at the time.

That same time, March 12, will be fortunate for other actions too, as this full moon is overall positive, especially thanks to a beam from power planet Pluto in Capricorn, in friendly angle to the full moon in Virgo. Saturn will be challenging, however, so keep your health strong and your wits about you – you may have to get over a hurdle at this time, but you will have the ability to do so. Pluto is a big deal planet and he is in Capricorn, supporting you every inch of the way. Despite the hurdles you may have to get over mid-month, you can win. If you travel, the trip is likely to have quite an ability to change your perspective and boost your spirits in a way no other trip has done for you in ages. In addition to positive travel, you may also to hear good news about a court case or legal action, or get happy results from a publishing or broadcasting venture, or efforts you might be putting in toward getting an advanced university degree.

When it comes to career, be patient. Your tenth house of fame and honors – the only part of the chart that rules your ascent to the prestigious top – is ruled by Venus, and Venus will be retrograde, slowing your progress. Avoid taking a new job or interviewing for one from March 4 to April 15. When Venus does turn direct, she will be tired for weeks, and won’t get her strength back until May 18. Be patient – you will find much better aspects in the last quarter of 2017, a better time to act.

Venus will retrograde in Aries, a sign associated with your home, but again, although having Venus in your home sector is usually a plus for making design decisions, but not when Venus is retrograde. Additionally, do not schedule any radical improvements to your appearance. This means no plastic surgery or heavy-duty dermatological treatments, and no massive changes in hair color or cut. Men, now is not the time to grow a beard or shave one off.

Opportunity to make a better, more comfortable, and stylish home will arrive at the new moon, March 27. Over the past several years, you have had a much greater emphasis on home and family than any other sign, and more instability than most too. After reading your forecast, you may be saying, “Oh no! No more changes at home!” However, the ones that will happen this month would be ones you will volunteer for, dear Capricorn. If you want to move, you will likely find the place you like, but if you are finding the space this month, you may have to wait until the persons that are occupying that space have moved out. You may want to make important changes to the space before you move in, but with Venus retrograde, nothing will be easy. Watch the work that the workmen are doing, for you will need to be present and aware of all that is going on – leave nothing to chance.

Romance will be blossoming too, now that Mars is about to enter your fifth house of true love from March 9 to April 21. Sexy Mars will get you in the mood for love, and by the time the new moon of April 26 arrives next month, your love life will move into full swing. Single or attached, Cupid will be around the very next corner.
