Your Horoscope by Susan Miller

Travel is written all over your chart, so as you begin April, you may be reading your report from a city away from your usual base, or planning a trip to take soon. All through April, aside from the emphasis on travel, you seem to be unusually busy, with overflowing emails, many meetings, and several documents to write, along with people to see and places to go. The new moon that occurred at the end of last month, March 27, started to increase the level of conversations around you. You will be busier than Lucy Ball and her friend Ethel in the chocolate factory. For comedienne Lucy, the assembly line just kept on coming at her, with more and more to do, and it will for you too. Four heavenly bodies in fire-sign Aries, all crowded in your third house of communication, will have it no other way. Planets in Aries blend beautifully with your Aquarius Sun, so no fears – you’ll keep up, but you will have to stay on point and not get distracted.

The travel you do early in the month will likely be to a township or city nearby, perhaps done for a spontaneous weekend trip. Mars rules Aries, and with Mars traveling in your home sector, you may be traveling to see one of your parents or other family members you’ve not seen lately. Or, you may go to another city to view real estate if you are thinking of buying or renting in a new location, or if you own other property, to look in on it to make sure all is fine. Saturn will be friendly to the new moon, adding weight and longevity to anything you put into place.

You may be asked to sign a contract in early April, for your third house, which is so lit up, also rules contracts. As you will see later in my report, Mercury is about to retrograde on April 9, so as you begin the month, you are already too close to the start of the retrograde. We always feel the onset of a Mercury retrograde before the actual turnaround date, and the point for you to keep in mind is that any planet, including Mercury, is at its very worst near the start and end dates. I know that may not make any intuitive sense to you, but I can see the mathematical orb of the planet, and the picture is not pretty at the bookend dates.

For an endeavor that you want in place a very long time, you need to wait until May. If you can wait until after May 20 – or better yet, ideally the date of the peak of a new moon, May 25, that would be so much better. If you can’t wait that long, do sign on May 12 when Mars and Jupiter will be in sync. Can’t wait at all? Then sign, but realize the deal you are making will not last as long as you had hoped. Or it will last, but you won’t be as happy about the terms as you had imagined because the conditions will change while you are living though the terms of the agreement. If you have been out of work, or are working but desperately need a deal to happen now for financial reasons, sign, but keep looking at your opportunities.

If your birthday falls on January 26 plus or minus five days, you will benefit the most from that March 27 new moon that appeared last month, still strong in April. The same is true if you have Aquarius rising 7 degrees, or have a natal moon in Aquarius at 7 degrees, in both cases plus or minus five degrees. Additionally, if you have a natal planet in Aquarius, Gemini, or Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at 7 degrees, plus or minus five degrees, you too will strongly notice this new moon, and benefit from it.

More travel appears to be coming up at the full moon in Libra 22 degrees on April 10, and it will possibly be the most breathtakingly, enjoyable full moon I have seen in a long time. The mystery surrounding this full moon is mainly due to the mixed message it will send. On one hand, you have one of the finest aspects possible, a luminous full moon wearing her while silk gown, entering at the arm of Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. It is hard to imagine an aspect sweeter and more exciting than this one. This is no small moment, and all the other planets will stop for a second to look as this gloriously attractive couple arrives in their majestic splendor.

These two heavenly bodies will meet in your ninth house of international travel and relationships. You may need to go abroad, to an exciting country, or you may remain at home and be offered the opportunity of a lifetime to work with a company abroad. The ninth house also rules immigration, including citizenship matters, passport, and visa, as is anything having to do with your efforts to go to college and get an advanced degree, and all come under the benefits from Jupiter.

There will be two complications to this gorgeous full moon, however. The first complication is that the cusp of your solar ninth house is ruled by Libra, and that sign is ruled by Venus. Venus is now orbiting in retrograde, a condition Venus took up on March 5 and that will continue until April 15. Venus will take time to reach full power – May 18. This suggests if you travel with a goal in mind, such as to reach accord with a client to have a purchase order signed, it may be hard for you to meet that goal. If you are the client, you may not like how the project is going and send it back to the team for revisions. (Venus also holds sway over your house of home, as it is ruled by Taurus, and you may see delays there too.)

In last month’s report, I mentioned a list of things not to do when Venus is retrograde, such as not to have plastic surgery, not to institute radical change to your hair style or color, and not to give a big, lavish party or charity benefit. In the latter case, the donations are likely to be small. (You can always read the previous month’s forecast on my site, by clicking on the box that says View Previous Month. On my app, whether you have my free or premium version, you can see the previous month by swiping to the left.)

The second problem with this full moon, April 10, is that your ruling planet, Uranus, will be directly opposed to this full moon at a 180-degree angle across the skies, considered a confrontational aspect. I will admit sometimes an opposition denotes completion, such as when you put two halves of an apple together to form a whole. It seems less likely that that would happen now. However, I cannot say that for sure, because Uranus is the planet of unexpected developments. You never know what will happen when Uranus is involved, and trying to guess is always pointless. Uranus tends to strike suddenly, like lightning, so I feel this would not be the best time to travel on an important long trip. Yet on one hand, it could be the trip of a lifetime, but then again, Uranus might suddenly distract you when something happens in another part of life, on the sidelines, and needs your involvement to fix it.

One of your sweetest times of the month will be when Mars enters fellow air-sign Gemini on April 21, to stay until June 4. In Gemini, Mars will light your house of true love, fun, and leisure, heralding a fantastically happy time.

Still, a full moon in Libra is usually very positive for you, Aquarius, because Libra is an air sign like your Aquarius Sun. The energies of this full moon blend well with yours, and in so many ways, this full moon will be memorable and supportive.

The ninth house where this full moon will fall rules other things too, so if you are not traveling or working on an international project, then you may be dealing with an immigration matter, a publishing or broadcasting matter, a legal action, or a topic having to do with academia and your goal to get an advanced degree (or teach on the college level). In any of these areas, the same mystery comes up, and the question will be, is this full moon set to be helpful or will there be a jarring event that suddenly steals your attention? That is the question.

I feel we never have to brace for good news, which possible now, but we do have to think ahead when we see a possibly tough aspect coming up and prepare as best we can. I would say the only way to prepare is to keep your schedule light so you can make last minute changes.

There is one other complication. Mercury will be retrograde too, starting April 9 until May 3. Mercury is the planet of communication, transportation, negotiation, contracts and agreements (even verbal ones), writing, speaking, and editing. We feel the effects of planets that orbit close to earth more directly than we do when the outer planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto retrograde. Astrologers call Mercury, Mars, and Venus the personal planets, for they tend to have a very personal effect on us all. (Mars is in fine shape and won’t retrograde again until next year.)

Agreements made with Mercury retrograde usually don’t hold up and have to be redone later, or else torn up and forgotten. I do not want you to agree to anything while Mercury is out of phase. Also, do not buy electronic products, or machines with moving parts, like a car, laptop, smart phone, expensive headphones – you get the idea. Yes, you do have to wait!

If you would like to read my comprehensive essay, “All You Need to Know about Mercury Retrograde,” it is found on my homepage of AstrologyZone.com, on the lower left corner at the bottom of the screen. I worked on it for months, for I kept going back to the piece as points would occur to me at the oddest times. I do hope you will check it out. If you have the premium version of my app, you can find my article on Mercury Retrograde on the menu under Life + Love, and then inside that section under Susan’s Essays.

Let’s now talk about your home, which, aside from travel, is also forming a very big theme this month. Active Mars – considered the timekeeper of the zodiac, showing you where you would likely want to direct your attention – is now moving through your home sector. You seem very intent on making improvements to your space, or even planning for a move. Mars has been drawing your attention to home, so it looks like something is going on there. If you are not changing, repairing, maintaining, or decluttering your home, you may be focused on one of your parents, or a person you think of as a parent.

Now, a new moon on April 26 in Taurus 6 degrees is about to appear in your same fourth house of home and energize this area even more. If you plan to sell a house, or buy one, this is the time to start, just after April 26, for best luck. Keep in mind that Mercury will still be retrograde and will not go direct until May 3. You do need to wait at least a few days after May 3 before you take action. Don’t list your house until then, but actually, more ideally, it would be best to wait for May 20 before acting, assuming you can possibly wait, for that is the date Mercury will have again assumed full power. Also, if buying a house, the date of the closing is the most important day, and you do not want to do this with Mercury out of phase.

I certainly do not want you to buy any new furniture or electronics for your home until May 20 and beyond. You will get better pleasure from your products if you wait until Mercury returns to the sign and degree it was when Mercury first retrograded and is back to full power. That’s May 20. (If you have my calendar, all these dates are on it.)

One of your sweetest times of the month will be when Mars enters fellow air-sign Gemini on April 21, to stay until June 4. In Gemini, Mars will light your house of true love, fun, and leisure, heralding a fantastically happy time. You might want to take a vacation during that time. Within that period, you will have a dazzling new moon in the same romantic part of your chart on May 25 to boost your outlook for romance and happiness even more!

Your very best time to go on a vacation will be any time after May 25 (and to be back after June 4). If you follow these dates, you’ll be all set for an outstandingly fun time. Mars in Gemini will make your charms more visible and engaging, so if you are single, you will find it to be easier to meet new people. Venus will cooperate by moving into Aries, a fire sign that blends beautifully with your air-sign element on April 28, to remain in Aries through June 5. Remarkably, this dovetails with Mars’ orbit in Gemini that will end on June 4. All indications point to May as your best month for love, with the end of May and early June your very best.

Summary

Spontaneous travel seems likely, to places both near and far in the first half of April, but travel won’t be easy. The new moon at the end of March started the ball rolling, and you may travel to a nearby location in early April, possibly to oversee your property or a family matter.

At the full moon, April 11, you may find yourself on a very distant location, and ready to return home within four days of this date. This full moon won’t be easy, as Uranus will conjoin the Sun and might make your relationships with your steady sweetheart or spouse become unstable, or if the trip is for business, you may find it hard to find accord. There is another possibility in that it may be that your alliance with a business partner or collaborator might be the reason your relationship becomes volatile. You are ruled by Uranus, so you tend to take in stride the thunderbolts that Uranus sends us to keep our wits sharp. This full moon has more questions than answers, so with planets sending all kinds of crosscurrents, if you can travel at another time, it might be best. You know the details of your situation that I cannot see from where I set (I don’t have your custom chart), so you will know best about what to do.

You may be asked to sign a contract this month, as the travel houses are also the areas of the chart ruling negotiations and formal agreements. This is not the time to agree to make binding promises because Mercury will be retrograde from April 9 to May 3. Don’t try to outrun Mercury by signing close to April 9 – you will feel the slowdown the minute the month begins, and if you sign, you may regret rushing and overlooking sticky points that could come back to bite you later. Everything improves in May, and you won’t lose anything by waiting – in fact, you would have everything to gain. My favorite days for signing are after May 20, particularly after the new moon, May 25. Need to do so earlier? May 12 is a special day too.

Your home will be an important source of attention during the first three weeks of April, as Mars in Taurus will move through your fourth house of home. You may have workmen, contractors, or movers there, or many guests, for Mars usually brings activity and noise. Mars will exit this part of your chart on April 21, but one week later, the new moon will energize your home sector in a bigger way, starting April 26. You appear to be involved in a work project that will take time to finish, so have patience and keep in close touch with those who are helping you complete the project. Venus is the natural ruler of your fourth house of home, and it is retrograde now, through April 15, but will be a bit slow until Venus gradually ramps up to full power, May 18.

Romantically, things are about to heat up delightfully starting May 21, a sparkling trend that will last until June 4. Mars will enter your true love sector (fifth house) for the first time in two years, so get ready for an amazing amount of attention from one or more romantic admirers. Before Mars departs your love sector on June 4, the new moon of May 25 will come in to sprinkle rose petals in your path for weeks to come, greatly strengthening your prospects for the start of a lasting romance. In the first three weeks of April, feather your nest, dear Aquarius, and then, starting May 21, you will be ready to invite love in. If you are attached, you’ll get more attention from your partner, and you’ll be able to do things together, which is always a sign of happy times to come.
