December has the makings of highly social, festive holiday season. You start the month with Mars in Aquarius, a holdover from last month, when Mars first entered your sign in early November. Having Mars in your own sign is always a great advantage, for Mars will raise your profile so that others notice you and be drawn to get to know you. Mars will make you more sexy, confident, and vibrant, traits that work to be a powerful aphrodisiac if you are single and dating. If you are attached, you will get more loving attention from your partner, and that is always good news. Mars will stay in Aquarius through December 18.
To add more to your allure, in addition to having Mars in your sign, you will also have his lover, Venus, in Aquarius starting December 7. Venus will remain in your sign until January 2, covering the entire holiday season. Lucky you! Take advantage of having Venus in your sign by investigating new ways to refresh your appearance. If you are a woman, you might try new cosmetic textures and colors, and men and women both might want to investigate different ways of wearing your hair. A new scent might be fun too. Order new eyeglasses, if you wear them, or a new pair of sunglasses. Men might want to try a beard for fun or shave one off. This is also a great time to buy new clothes, for Venus and Mars will both see to it that you turn heads.
I particularly love December 12 for you, when the Sun in Sagittarius will receive a shimmering beam from your ruling planet, Uranus. This would be a great day to see friends, go to a holiday party, or take a spontaneous trip. If you write for a living, or are a musician or poet working with words and lyrics, with Uranus touring your third house, the right words will come to you to allow you to express your thoughts beautifully, in an original way.
The new moon of last month, still strong in the first half of December, will benefit you the most if your birthday falls within five days of January 28. If you have Aquarius rising, have the natal moon in Aquarius, or a natal planet in Aquarius, Gemini, or Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, you too will benefit if one of those listed are in your natal chart at 22 degrees plus or minus five degrees.
Mercury is about to retrograde this month, from December 19 to January 8. If you are to make changes, you will need to do so early in the month, well in advance of seeing Mars exit Aquarius on December 18. The situation with Mercury retrograde will bring some frustrations with holiday shopping. Mercury retrograde is the wrong time to shop for electronic items like computers, tablets, smart phones, and smart TVs, and is also a bad time to buy a car. You will have to venture out and secure any of these types of products well in advance of December 19, the day Mercury retrogrades, because you will feel the approaching slowdowns of Mercury two weeks ahead.

Let’s start at the top of the month and look closely at the trends.
You will feel a social, breezy influence that is just perfect for fun, friends, and parties the moment December begins, for the new moon of last month, November 29, in Sagittarius 8 degrees, was especially friendly. Jupiter was and still will be supportive of that new moon, and so was Mars, indicating that your friends will continue to surround you and look after your interests. A new moon is operative for almost two weeks, so the first half of December will be a happy time for you. If you are to travel this month, your trip will go smoothly, for Jupiter, shining from your ninth house of distant lands, will see that you enjoy every minute away.
I say this even though Mercury is retrograde. I travel all the time with Mercury retrograde, but you do have to show up at the airport early, and keep checking the gate you think you are leaving from on the many monitors. Clearly label your luggage and have your business card taped to the back of your tablet, smart phone, and laptop computer. It is also a good idea to put a business card inside your eyeglass / sunglass case, and headphone case, too. We become hasty when Mercury retrogrades, so it’s always necessary to go the extra mile to be sure that you leave the house with all that you will need, including your ID, and then when you leave the plane to double check near your seat that nothing was about to be left behind.
Neptune was not be friendly to that new moon and will be exerting some fog during the first ten days of December. Because Neptune was at odds from your financial house, and Neptune can make us distracted or unclear in thinking and communicating, and because Neptune is in your second house of income, you need to know where your wallet is at all times. Keep some of your cash in places other than your wallet. (Women have it easy – the zippered section of the purse is a good place. Men might want to stash some cash in their computer bag or brief case.)
You will have several days that will shine brilliantly for you, so you may want to circle them on your calendar.
On December 6, Mars and Uranus will be in ideal sync, giving you the impetus to travel short distances, perhaps to do holiday shopping or to see friends. Because your third house is shining, you may be seeing your sister or brother. This day should be bright for doing a negotiation too. Uranus is your guardian planet, so when Uranus is involved, you know your name is written on that day by a loving universe.
December 9 will be special too, when Jupiter and the Sun trade signals in the most harmonious way possible. On this day, friends will again have a role to play in your life. If invited to a party for this day, by all means accept, for Jupiter will see to it that you meet warm and friendly people – some with a hilarious sense of humor, and who are likely to come from a wide variety of backgrounds. The party itself will be luxurious, with delicious food and drink and plenty of laughter.
On December 10, a Saturday, Saturn will conjoin the Sun and may set off an exhausting weekend. Try not to overload your schedule, for the old adage, “The spirit is willing but the body is not,” will get new meaning on December 10. Saturn will require you to get more rest. Also on this day, on the plus side, you may meet up with an older person who is either already a friend or who will become a friend this weekend. This person would have very wise advice for you.
Romance will be the key focus on December 13 and influential for a plus or minus four days. This full moon is a tricky one because Saturn will conjoin the Sun and oppose the full moon exactly. Yet it falls in Gemini, 22 degrees, and Gemini is an air sign that blends very beautifully with yours. This full moon will likely mark a culmination or decision point for your relationship. How things will go will depend largely on how they have been going all along.
If you have not been happy, a full moon of December 13 opposed to Saturn could give you the courage to break up. If you have a strong, joyous relationship, you may talk about taking a big step now, such as to live together or to get engaged. Saturn’s presence would only be an indication of how serious this step is to you, and that is positive. (Keep in mind that Mercury is retrograde, so you may want to get engaged at a better time, such as Valentine’s Day. You can talk and plan now, however, but don’t etch anything in stone just yet.)
In a different manifestation of the full moon’s energies December 13, it may be that your sweetheart or spouse is under strong and unusual pressures or going through a crisis, and that you will instantly want to help your partner get through it in a significant way. Or, vice versa, it may be that you are going through the hard time and need emotional support from your significant other.
Full moons almost force us to make choices, and after we do, we move forward to a bright future. I don’t think you will find out something about your partner that makes you want to break up, but in the unlikely case you do, realize that this full moon is your friend, and is working to protect you.
Mars will move out of Aquarius on December 19 and into Pisces until January 27, a time when you will be spending more money than usual. Perhaps you have prepared for this, and say, are sending in your college tuition payment, are taking an awe-inspiring trip, or leasing a new car and have plenty of expenses associated with doing that. These are just a few examples. If you have no plans to spend quite a bit more money than usual, then you may want to be a tiny bit more careful in spending for holiday gifts, keeping track of all shopping expeditions. Fortunately, this period will end on January 27.
The holidays will be quite glorious this year. First, before I tell you about the confetti that will shower you this year, and I will say that Christmas and Hanukkah will fall on the same day this year, and Kwanzaa will fall the following day, December 26.
Something exceptional is happening on December 24, when Saturn, your ancient ruler, will be in exquisite trine relationship to Uranus, your modern ruler. The job of Uranus is to suddenly tear down or sweep away anything it deems of no future value. It is the planet of genius, innovation, creativity, disruption, and unexpected, idiosyncratic style. Because this is your ruler, you are this way, too. Uranus helps us see into the future – you have this ability, for you see trends years before the rest of society sees them.
You can never predict what Uranus will do, for he is impulsive, but this month and over the entire coming year, Uranus will partner with Saturn, a planet very different in personality. Saturn stabilizes all it touches, for Saturn’s job is to build and brings reward through patience and hard work.
This is the first meeting of Uranus and Saturn, December 24. Two more are to come, May 18 and November 11, 2017. These planets move very slowly, as they are outer planets that inch across the sky. This means they don’t have to be in exact mathematical aspect (like on those days listed) to benefit. They will be what astrologers call within orb, and that means the two planets will be close enough to send you their goodies, and that you would notice their support. This is an aspect of hope and optimism, and will color all of 2017.
It is especially great news for you, dear Aquarius, for when your two rulers are friendly, you tend to do very well indeed. Said simply, you will make changes in the coming weeks and months, and Saturn will be on hand to help you solidify those changes, giving you a stable foundation on which to build your dreams.
If your birthday falls on February 10, plus or minus five days, you will feel this full moon more than other members of your sign. The same would be true if you have Aquarius rising, the natal moon in Aquarius, or a natal planet in Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, at 22 degrees, plus or minus five degrees. In any of these circumstances, you will find a way to make the full moon benefit you in a very substantial way.
Now let’s get to December 25, because I am bursting with excitement to tell you about what the universe has cooked up for you. Venus will receive messages from three dignitaries: Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn, and in each case, Venus will have a separate, private conversation, and in regard to Venus, all three planets will be outstandingly harmonious. This is remarkable. Venus is the natural ruler of TWO of your solar houses, dear Aquarius – your fourth house of home and your ninth house of international relationships and travel, among other things. Wow! Let me explain.
When, on December 25, Jupiter will communicate Venus, all the areas ruled by the ninth house will light up for you – international travel and distant travel within your own country. It rules import-export of ideas, goods, and services, as well as international relationships, visa, green card, and citizenship. Also covered are publishing, broadcasting, and the Internet, as well as the actions you take to attain a college or graduate school degree. Finally, this house also rules the dogma of religion, spirituality, and philosophy.
The most common way Venus will exert her influence will be in international or distant travel. You might travel for the holiday, or you may be entertaining visitors to your city at a beautiful dinner in a festive restaurant, or even host out of town guests at your home, possibly offering them your guest room. The beauty of this day will be felt two days prior to December 25, so you will feel the excitement mounting.
Uranus, your ruler, will meet with Venus too on December 25, adding the element of delicious surprise. Venus and Uranus together will bubble up conversation, flirtatiousness, and romance, so you may be pulled under the mistletoe more than once.
Saturn’s friendly warmth toward Venus on the same day, December 25, will make sure that promises made will be promises kept. Love becomes deeper through the experience of this day.
Not to be outdone, the Sun will receive positive signals from Mars the following day, December 26, and the result might be that you receive a valuable gift, cash, or gift card. This aspect has a plus or minus one day.
In a month so chock-full of aspects, you might think that after December 26, things will quiet down, but no, there are some important aspects still to come that represent wonderful news. An important one for you, Aquarius, will be the one on December 29.
Your ruler, Uranus, will go direct on December 29 after having been retrograde since July 29, a period of five months. This is a monumental development, for in the many days surrounding December 29, you will see that something dearly important to you is about to push forward.
Think back to the end of July or in August, when you may have had to do a bit of backtracking to improve a project, a relationship, a plan, or your strategy. Re-dos are common when a big planet like Uranus turns, especially when it is your ruler, and that was at the end of July. Now you have the green light to go full steam ahead. The turn of Uranus direct will make everyone happy, but most of all you.
On the same day, December 29, you will have a new moon in Capricorn. This will light a quiet, private part of your chart, so you may be craving a bit of privacy and rest. Just after the new moon arrives, consider the coming year, and what you would like to achieve by this time next year. 2017 should be, by all accounts, a splendid year, filled with all kind of cooperation from others that you were not able to count on getting up to now.
New Year’s Eve brings the moon to Aquarius, so this will be your night to dazzle. You can set the tone and the pace. It looks like you will want only closest friends and family near, so design a very tender, private celebration. A dinner for eight that you whip up at home, either with you as the chef or that will be brought in by a superb caterer, would be ideal.

You will find yourself in full swing of the holiday season as you begin the month, thanks to a sweet new moon that appeared November 29 and is coaxing you to accept any and all invitations as you enter December. Stern Saturn is among four planets in your friendship sector, so this month, you may learn that a close friend is going through a rough patch and you will want to offer a helping hand. Alternatively, if you belong to a club or charity, you may decide to take on a chairmanship for an upcoming benefit. If you are attached, there is a possibility your partner will go through a setback on or near December 10, when Saturn will conjunct the Sun.
Venus will be moving through your secret twelfth house until December 7, so the temptation to have a clandestine relationship will be strong. With other planets soon to march through that area of your chart, you might get carried away with emotion, which is not like you. Things with your secret partner could fall apart in January because this appears to be a temporary flirtation, so be mindful of this possibility so that you can protect your heart.
You will have a full moon in your love sector on December 13, indicating some sort of serious news might surface about a person with whom you are involved in romantic relationship. It may be happy news – such as, you both decide to move in together or to get engaged – and with Saturn active, you will be ready to take the next step.
Or, it may be that you learn a certain truth about your partner that you may find troubling, because Saturn will oppose that full moon exactly. Saturn can bring on a separation or breakup, but because this full moon is working to protect you through Jupiter and Mars’ friendly positions, no matter what the outcome, you will benefit. Things could go either way, and will be dependent on how things have been going until now.
Travel would be fun this month, especially on or near December 9, when the Sun and Jupiter will light the path to a distant land. If you can go, then do. If you’re in college or graduate school, you would be still be in luck, as defending your thesis, taking an exam, or doing anything to further your educational goals will go exceptionally well. If you work in publishing or broadcasting, news about a project may have you humming a happy tune.
As a holdover from last month, Mars, the energy planet, will remain in Aquarius until December 19 and continue to put you front and center. This will be a busy phase, and your charisma and magnetism will be high. If you want to start a new venture, do so in early December, for your passion for all that you are promoting will be strong and you could easily light others to your cause. You will lose Mars’ favor once Mars moves out of Aquarius on December 19, the reason you must act quickly. Romantically, with Mars at your side, you’ll be the sparkler at any gathering.
There is another equally important reason for you to act with purpose in December’s first two weeks. Mercury will be retrograde from December 19 as well, and you should not start anything new and vital, or sign any papers while Mercury remains out of phase until several days after January 8. Mercury rules thinking, perception, communication, negotiation, and commerce, and when retrograde, all these areas are scrambled. This is one aspect that affects all signs uniformly. You would be wise shop for holiday gifts well in advance of the turn of Mercury. If you can’t shop early, you may want to rely on giving gift cards to those closest, assuming you know the specific retailers that your friends and family prefer.
December 25 will bring a breathtaking trio of meetings between Venus and Jupiter, Uranus and Mars. This day should please you on so many levels and make you realize that in the end, love rules all.
After a flurry of parties, dinner with friends, and other social events, once the new moon arrives, December 29, it appears you’ll crave rest and, if you have a partner, you’ll have a chance to enjoy private time together. Rest up – once you get closer to birthday time, you’ll have many opportunities, and you’ll again be on your skateboard, moving at the speed of light.
