Welcome to a wonderful month, one of the best of 2016. The new moon appeared in Libra, 8 degrees, just hours prior to the dawning of October. That new moon is just glorious, for it arrived with the Sun, giver of vitality and life, and Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, in your broadening, intellectual ninth house. Most new moons are mixed, but this one is darling, with no rogue aspects to steal its grace and beauty. How will this new moon affect and benefit you? The answer is: in many ways.

First, foreign people and places will be lucky for you, for they form part of the ninth house. You may travel for pleasure or set up an international business, such as in the import or export of ideas, information, goods, or services. If you were born in one country but live in another, you are already taking part in this lovely trend – you already live in a foreign country. Don’t return home to live until after October 10, 2017. If you are not working in an international arena, then think of ways you can spread your influence abroad.

If you are involved in immigration concerns, you can easily breeze through the interview process this month, to get a visa, green card, or a passport for citizenship. All year this area glows for you, but this month, you will have stunning luck.

If you are a writer, you may see your books or articles translated into other languages, or you may have good fortune with the press. Your work and recent successes may be chronicled or reviewed positively in newspapers, online, and on TV this month.

When I had your aspects six years ago, I was thinking that this trend wasn’t really affecting me and I wondered why. Although I regularly write for many foreign magazines, I had not been contacted by any new one at the time. Yet, my chart (like yours) almost called out to me that this would happen. Then I realized – wait! This trend WAS indeed working for me. At the time, I had just started work as a contributing editor with a fashion magazine in New York. I realized suddenly that the magazine indeed may be based in my city, but their headquarters and ownership were based in Paris – in a foreign country. That was later to change, of course, when an American purchased this fashion magazine, but the point is, astrology goes by the birth of the venture, and at the time the company was still in foreign hands. (Incidentally, in September I switched my monthly spread to InStyle US, a Time Inc. company.)

The point to remember is this: You may agree to work for a foreign company and not be conscious of it. Dear Aquarius, this month and in the coming year, foreign people and places, as well as companies with their headquarters abroad, will be golden.

Other areas will shine for you too: You may be in college getting your degree and need to take a test – this month you can ace it. If you are looking at colleges, schedule your entrance interview for early October. (I realize that many colleges don’t require an in-person interview – but if you do go for the interview, I personally feel you will always have an edge, and doubly so this month, during the first eleven days. I realize that visiting a college in a distant city may represent a financial hardship, so in those cases, try for a Facetime interview.)

If you need to defend your thesis, do so at start of October if possible. (I wrote about the timing of events just like this in my recently published book, “Year Ahead Forecast for Second Half of 2016 into 2017.” I realize some events need to be planned well in advance. I spoke of this in your September forecast too. I do try to give you plenty of time to plan – that is why I write my books.) Apply for financial aid if you need it, and for a scholarship too, if you are inclined.

If you work in publishing, broadcasting, or the Internet, an assignment you are working will be special and have positive implications for the future. Jupiter is in Libra, so you may be writing about the law, the Supreme Court, the state of marriage in the twentieth century, or about topics of culture: food, art, music, design, fashion, or beauty. Libra, the place of this new moon that is so divinely angled to your Sun, is the sign known to be the arbiter of taste, and that could point to work in jobs that critique cultural subjects. Many Libras become editors or curators of museums, or work in other jobs that allow them to present the most important movements in these areas. (Other Libras, as said earlier, are drawn to the court, because Libra also rules the law. If they don’t become a lawyer, judge, or paralegal, they will often marry a person who is works in the legal field.)

All the topics that you and I have been discussing will bring happiness and possibly money if you get the talks started from now until October 10, 2017, a year from now. You may hear this and wonder why I am asking you to rush to act on one of these topics now, this month. You need to do so because even though you will have Jupiter protecting you and bringing you opportunity throughout the coming twelve months, nothing will happen without the help of a powerful, well-placed new moon.

The new moon’s job is to unlock the good aspects swirling about the universe, package it, and send it out to you. Most new moons have mixed aspects, some good, some not so good, and some new moons are little witches – very challenging and difficult, rendering them not very useful to you. Not this one. This new moon of September 30 will bring you only heavenly aspects, allowing you to find superb results, along with much opportunity.

It’s very rare to see a new moon as sweet as this one, September 30, the reason why I am urging you to take action. Even with a new moon, where opportunity may come and knock on your door without you lifting a finger, you should still cast a wide net and work to find interesting opportunities in the areas I listed.

One of the days of the month, worthy of five gold stars, is October 11, when Mercury and Jupiter will conjoin in Libra. Mercury plans an important meeting with Jupiter every year, but each year, like two old friends, they choose a different place to meet. This time, for their October 11 meeting, after looking in his restaurant guide, Jupiter is suggesting they meet in Libra, and this is the first time since October 5, 2005 that they met in the Libra constellation. This is news, and because Jupiter rules your ninth house of long-distance travel and all the areas I have been discussing in this report so far, the day will be so very fortunate for you. On October 11, take a trip, send in your finished manuscript, set up an import-export business, or take a qualifying exam. There are so many possibilities!

Best of all, sign a contract on October 11, for you will have such gorgeous prospects for a profitable outcome. Mercury rules agreements of all kinds, and this planet of communication and negotiation will join forces with Jupiter. If you sign on October 11, your chances of seeing generous profits would be excellent.

The full moon of October 16 would not be the time to sign papers, even if you are pressured to do so. Uranus will be conjunct the full moon, making it unstable. Uranus is your ruling planet, and rules the planet of unexpected developments, creativity, disruption, genius, rebellion, independence, and sometimes-idiosyncratic behavior. It is the planet designated to be the planet of innovation that strikes suddenly and sweeps out all that is outdated with the blink of an eye, even before others see that the area Uranus is training his attention on has run its course.

Still, I don’t feel this full moon will be the time to sign any agreements, as the situation might change suddenly later in a way you can’t now anticipate. This full moon will be too volatile to be able to anticipate any sort of stability. Also, this full moon is not only conjunct surprise-a-minute Uranus, but will be in harsh angle to pushy, domineering Pluto. The best way to describe Pluto would be to say it can, when in harsh aspect like this, be a highly placed VIP that is the 800 lb. gorilla who sits anywhere he pleases.

If you are in your own business, you may be busy negotiating a joint venture with another company, one much larger than your own. At this time, you may be upset with the last-minute terms that were inserted into the agreement that were never brought up before the scheduled signing. You appear to need this deal to go though, so you are likely to agree to those terms nevertheless. You can see why I want you to get the paperwork early in October, and to sign then, and avoid signing papers at or near the full moon October 16, minus two days, or plus four days.

The exception to the rule is that if your birthday falls on February 11, plus or minus four days – then, this contract or activities you may be working on at the full moon will work to benefit you. The same is true if you have Aquarius rising 23 degrees, the natal moon in that sign and degree, or a natal planet at 23 degrees in Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius – you also will do well with this somewhat wild full moon.

Uranus rules Aquarius so you are comfortable with this planet’s penchant to strike suddenly and without any warning and to rail against the establishment. This is why you are considered an innovator, always with your eyes on the distant horizon. This entire month, no matter when your Aquarius birthday (or rising sign) happens to fall, the planets will have you thinking big and broad, bigger than you have ever viewed potential in ventures before.

The month will end in an exciting way for your career. A new moon is due October 29-30, in Scorpio, 8 degrees, and lighting your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement for the first time this year. You will need to be ready to roll on professional opportunities just after that new moon appears, for they are likely to arise. Of course, I will tell you to look for them too, for if you work at seeking them out, you will find the right position for you. In the case of this new moon, Neptune will be in fine angle to the moon, from his perch in your second house of earned income. Here you will see that career success and financial gain will go together like cup and saucer – doubly so if you work in the arts, whether as artist or as support staff to artists.

This delightful new moon comes just a breath away from Halloween, October 31, giving the parties and costumes this year a big boost. If you get invited to one, by all means go. You’ve never seen creativity on Halloween like this year’s costumes.

It looks like a trip to a sumptuous setting could be on your schedule as you begin October, coming soon after the appearance of the beautiful new moon, September 30. This new moon is capable of sweeping you away to a dream of a trip. If you have to travel for business, bring along your partner – this new moon will allow you to easily combine business and pleasure. Saturn will also lend his gifts of long-term gain. If you travel to set up an international relationship, you will do exceptionally well. Other areas that sparkle include assignments involving the media (TV, radio, and Internet), import-export, legal matters and the courts, or anything involving your attainment of an advanced university degree. One remarkably happy two days will be October 10-11, when Mercury and Jupiter will make a rare conjunction in Libra, so one of the areas listed could be bring cause for celebration.

Mars is currently circulating in your behind the scenes sector, giving you the ability to do on-target strategic thinking. Whatever you are working on now appears to still need tweaking before you show it to the world. Technically, that would happen on or after November 8, when Mars moves into Aquarius – your sign! Mars will make you courageous, daring, and in control. People will be attracted to you, for you will be able to passionately present the project you’ve worked so hard to create.

Actually, you might be able to reveal your project one week sooner, just after the new moon in Scorpio due October 30, which is to set to light your house of fame and honors. That would be a perfect time to launch any new venture or to reveal a new idea, for on November 8, Mars will be in Aquarius and allow you to persuade industry influencers to support you all the way. Get set for applause, publicity, and a possible offer for a promotion or new prestigious assignment. With Neptune so beautifully supportive, it appears discussions about your compensation will please you – and doubly so if you are paid for your ideas and creativity.

In the meantime, October 16 brings a full moon that may play havoc with your long-distance travel plans. You seem to have to go for work, very likely to see a client or complete an assignment, but just when you dearly want everything to go right, the wheels can spin off your wagon. At the same time, your partner, in love or business, will act out of character, adding to your frustration. Guard your health at this time too, especially your tummy. You might eat something that does not agree with you near October 16.

You may get good news about your living situation, other property you may own or rent, or about a family member when Venus receives lovely vibrations from Jupiter, the planet of good fortune on October 26. This same day would be fantastic for any type of long-distance travel or talks with people based abroad. If you sign a contact on this day, Jupiter will bring profits and take good care of the relationship. Circle October 26 in gold.

Your career is about to bring very good news, for the new moon in Scorpio will light your house of honors, awards, and achievement and give you the best opportunity all year to move ahead in your profession. Neptune, planet of creativity and imagination, will be very prominent at this time, so if you work in a creative field, you will do especially well. Be sure to look for opportunities to move ahead, for the ones you find will be the best of 2016.

Next month will be a bigger month for your romantic life, because Mars will enter Aquarius, November 8 to December 19. At that time you will be turning heads and have a busy social life. Life will be sunny, and it’s a time to make your biggest initiations. Single or attached, you will love Mars in Aquarius.

For now, take care of all that comes up throughout the month, including possible travel. October is perfect for spreading your wings and learning more about the world, even if you can’t leave home. A wider horizon awaits you now, and you’ll see many possibilities in everything you touch. Looking back you may say you used to think in smaller, more marginal terms. This month’s theme is to grow and learn, and doing that will be right up your alley.
