June 2018
Dear Readers,
I am just coming off attending the United Astrology Conference in Chicago where I met so many astrologers from all over the world – Turkey, Brazil, China, Japan, Canada, England, Australia, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and of course the United States.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
Life is changing, and now that Uranus is touring Taurus, your career will begin to settle down, and you won’t have to endure so many professional ups and downs, the likes of which you have experienced over the past seven years. Not so welcome surprises happened so often that you began to think this was the way normal life would be from now on, and that there was probably no hope to ever see things become more normal. No, what you had gone through was not at all normal, and you will welcome the coming change. Uranus, planet of chaos and change, has exited your tenth house of prestigious career advancement and will from now on add sparkle to your social life. You are about to see a dramatic shift.
If you didn’t read my critical May report for Cancer last month about the massive changes that are due in your life now that Uranus has moved out of Aries and into Taurus for the first time since 1934 to 1942, you still can do so this month. In that report, I gave you a bird’s eye view of the rest of the year, too. After June ends, however, we will take May off the Astrology Zone servers, and you will never be able to read it again. You may want to print out the previous month now, so you don’t forget. To find last month’s forecast, look to the bottom of your monthly forecast – any page (even this one) and look for the blue box that says Previous Month.
Uranus in Taurus will stir your social life in a big way, and because Uranus will be taking a prominent role in June, you will see evidence of this sweet change almost immediately. Uranus in Taurus is ultimately friendly to Cancer, but Uranus in Aries was not. That’s why I feel life is about to become much better for you.
Speaking about work, you seem to have finished a large project, as indicated by the full moon of May 29. That full moon was in perfect angle to Mars in your eighth house of other people’s money, so you likely made money from the project, perhaps as commission, a cash advance, bonus, royalty, or licensing fee. If you didn’t, you will likely see money later, in time.
Alternatively if you had a medical procedure at the end of May, the money that Mars was promising you at the full moon of May 29 was likely to have come in from health insurance covering all or most of the costs.
The reason your expenses are high these days is Mars is moving through your eighth house of other people’s money. You may be undergoing a major lifestyle change, such as you might be getting married, or about to buy and move into a new house or condo, or you may be having a baby – you get the idea. These types of changes usually demand large amounts of cash. You may have prepared for this probability, but nevertheless seem to be alarmed at how fast money is running out of your checking account. Mars will stay in this part of your chart, the eighth house of loans, credit, and insurance, and so forth, until November 15.
The new moon in Gemini on June 13 will urge you to step back and give yourself needed rest. You’ve been under a lot of pressure lately, and you need a chance to breathe.
If you are getting divorced or dividing profits and assets at the end of a business, you seem to have entered a contentious stage as you meet to discuss how to best split the proceeds. Mars often will bring so much energy to an area of the chart that fierce disagreements often break out. I hope you would be the exception to the rule.
You will also have to watch for identity theft now and in months ahead, with Mars in hard angle to Uranus, so keep tabs on your credit card and bank statements.
As said, Mars will remain in your eighth house until November 15, a very long time. The usual time for Mars to spend in any one house of the chart is six or seven weeks, not six months, as you will have now. The reason for this lengthy stay is that Mars will go retrograde this month on June 27 until August 27.
All that time Mars will keep moving backward in Aquarius, where it is now, and by August 13 will move so far back that he will slip into Capricorn until September 10. Within that time period, Mars will move direct, August 27, so you see what is happening here.
Neither sign is an easy one for you to host. With Mars in Aquarius, you have concerns and possible disagreements about money, and in Capricorn, a partner is vocal, critical, and easy to agitate. Partners in love and marriage will need to be handled with kid gloves, or you might innocently invite a meltdown. This will all end when you get to November 15, the date Mars moves into fellow water-sign Pisces. That is a perfect place for Mars to be, and Mars will remain there until January 31.
Mars retrograde is not a time to launch any new ventures, and as said, that will be from June 26 to August 27. Mars is the natural ruler of your prestigious career sector (solar tenth house), so you may find projects stall during this time, and you will spend more time backtracking than moving forward. Mars rules the surgeon’s scalpel, so it’s not the time for you to schedule elective surgery either. (If it’s an emergency, of course, do it!)
Like people, planets don’t wake up feeling bright-eyed and bushy- tailed the instant their retrograde ends. They need quite a bit of time to ramp up and regulate their orbits. That’s why you should never jump on actions the day after a planet turns from retrograde to direct.
The one bright spot is that with Mars touring your eighth house of money, you will be more motivated to find more money and likely be quite persuasive. As Plato wrote, necessity is the mother of invention. Need has spawned many successes.
While Mars stays in Aquarius, a fixed air sign, for months, Mars will be in sharp square angle to Uranus at 90-degree angles, an aspect that denotes obstacles, challenges, and even sometimes a violent explosive manifestation. Think back to the time you had in the days near May 15 – you may get a clue of what’s to come. Next will be August 1, and then September 18, all times Uranus will precisely clash with Mars. The volcano going on in Hawaii is a good example of how Mars square Uranus expresses itself. I feel it won’t end any time soon – the end of September seems the most likely time. Sometimes this same aspect causes emotional friction, too.
You have Uranus now in your eleventh house of friendship and social interaction, and Mars touring in your eighth house finances, so be careful before you accept to participate in an event with friends, such as to be an attendant in a destination wedding, or to travel with your best friend to a far-flung city. Your involvement in this event may cost you much more than you estimated – your friend may have caviar and champagne taste, and expenses may get away from you.
The new moon in Gemini on June 13 will urge you to step back and give yourself needed rest. You’ve been under a lot of pressure lately, and you need a chance to breathe. The week that follows this new moon might be a good time to take a vacation. Neptune will be in hard angle to that new moon, however, so if you hope to travel, be sure to have correct addresses, and have a map in your glove compartment in case GPS leads you down the wrong road. Double-check hotel and other arrangements, too. Take care when swimming – only where there are lifeguards – and don’t drink the water in foreign countries if you are not sure it is safe.
Mercury, the ruler of Gemini and your third house of contractual deals, will be opposed to Saturn on the new moon, June 13, so a business trip, if you take one, would have a clearly defined goal. It would be a strenuous and possibly arduous trip, for the client would not be easy to bring to your way of thinking. This aspect, Mercury opposed to Saturn, reaches a peak on June 15, so agree to nothing verbally or on paper during the week of June 11-15. I suggest you sign your contract, lease, or any other important paper on June 19, when Mercury and Jupiter will work together to favor you, as both planets will be in water signs (Cancer-Scorpio respectively).
If you need a good day to interview for a new position, make a presentation, sell a major client on your idea, or bring in new business, do so on June 22, when the Sun (ruling money for you) and Uranus (ruling fame and honors) will be in lovely sync. The transiting moon will be moving through Scorpio too, so you have a perfect day in which to act on these types of goals.
As I mentioned at the start of your report, the full moon at this month’s end won’t be an easy moment for you. The moon rules Cancer, so new and full moons are more important to you than to any other sign. Saturn will conjoin the full moon in Capricorn, and that will put you in a very serious, somber mood. This full moon is in your partnership house, so someone you are dating a long time, or someone you married to or are in an established relationship, spouse, or ex-spouse has made you concerned.
You may be apprehensive about the health or welfare of this person, or, if you have been very unhappy, you may be wondering where to take this relationship in the future, and you may even think about if you should end it. If your partner has expected too much of you, and you feel you’ve been shouldering too much of the burden of the relationship, you will react strongly at this full moon. Alternatively, your personal relationship may be fine, and instead you may be feeling concerned about the health and well-being of a business partner, or are upset with this person and feel this is the last straw, and you may be ready to bolt.
You have some really good aspects at this new moon too, however, and we should not let that point get lost in the discussion about Saturn, the planet that is pressing so hard on you at the June 27 full moon. At month’s end, the Sun and Jupiter will be beautifully aligned. (The beams between Sun and Jupiter aspect will continue to gain strength until they come to a peak on July 5, so the end of June and beginning of July should sparkle for you.) Jupiter is in your solar fifth house of fun and love, so matters related to children, pregnancy, creativity, and new love would go really well.
You will notice the effects of the full moon of June 27, especially if your birthday falls in June. July-born Cancers will not notice this full moon as strongly as their June-born friends. Having said that, if you have Cancer rising at or near 6 degrees of the natal moon, you too will feel this new moon strongly too.
Assuming you love your partner, or if single, are eager to meet someone new, the beginning of June should please you. June 1 and June 2 will be simply magical for you. I will explain why I say this.
First, Venus will be in Cancer, a place it took up May 19, and will remain until June 13. This will be your very best time to shop for new designer threads, and to find lots of ways to improve your appearance. Of these days, this month it will be hard to beat June 1 and June 2.
On Friday, June 1, Venus in Cancer will be exchanging glittering beams with Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune, and Venus is the love-me planet. If you are interested in meeting someone new, or celebrating the love you have already found, this evening is for you. That day, Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune will form a golden triangle of harmony – it can’t get any better than this! Get a facial or message at lunchtime!
On Saturday, June 2, the golden triangle will still be at play, and the strongest aspect will be Venus’ alignment with Neptune, one of the most glamorous aspects possible. A bevy of little cherubs will surround you, with boughs of roses, just like in the Italian paintings. What a romantic night this will be!
On June 13, you may hear surprise, happy news from a friend, thanks to interplay between Mercury (news, communication) to Uranus (unexpected sudden, events, in this case, happy ones). This would also be a wonderful day to brainstorm for new ideas.

SUMMARY
Your work life has been all consuming, but keep pressing forward because June is still due to be a highly productive professional month. That will change at month’s end when active, energy planet Mars will go into lackadaisical retrograde orbit from June 26 to August 27, a period of nine weeks. This will slow down the progress in your career because Mars is the planet that rules your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement and teaches you to exert yourself to win within any competitive situations, especially in business. Furthermore, Mars rules Cancer’s prestigious tenth house of career advancement, so after Mars starts to retrograde, you’ll need to pull back and concentrate on past clients and projects and give those extra attention. It is not the time to launch new products or services.
The full moon in Gemini on June 13 will give you a chance to rest. Neptune will be at odds with that full moon, so if you travel, make sure you know the precise address and driving instructions or you may get lost – even using GPS. As a matter of fact, GPS may be the problem, so have old school maps in your glove compartment.
Money will be on your mind all month, as you will be burning through your bank account and perhaps adding to the balances of your credit cards. The reason for your increased spending is Mars in Aquarius that will be in place until mid-November. You may be undergoing a major lifestyle change, often an expensive process.
Knowing this expensive phase will last most of 2018, you’d be best to space out big purchases, so that you will have time to get a handle on cash flow. Cancer is thought to be one of the wisest financial signs (along with Capricorn, Taurus, and Scorpio), so this is not likely your fault – it’s the conditions you face. Be comforted in knowing that you will be back in control by year’s end.
Now let’s turn to a partnership matter that seems to have become complex. Saturn entered your relationship sector in December for a three-year stay. Ever since, your close relationship has become a focus. There are several possibilities here, and one may be that you are coming face-to-face with growing difficulties with an important partner, in marriage or business. Or alternatively, it may be that your partner is suffering with a health matter or difficult life event due to Saturn’s long stay through this seventh house – in this case, you will need to provide support.
If you are dating casually, you will not feel this trend, as the house Saturn is positioned in during the coming three years is basically a contractual sector (seventh house) where promises are made for the future. However, if you are not married, but if you have been dating a long time, you would still feel Saturn’s weighty influence. If you are forced to wait for your partner to feel ready, you may find the waiting hard to do. Decide ahead of time how long you will burrow in – there has to be an end point.
If you are in a serious relationship, you will see things come to fullness at the full moon, June 27. Saturn will conjunct the moon, so this is due to be a serious moment, where you may have to make a key decision about the relationship or offer help to your partner, depending on the circumstances. This will be a big relationship moment, and you will get unexpected help from a friend, thanks to Uranus, in the perfect position to the full moon. Things CAN work out.
If you are single, you will do well while Venus tours Cancer until June 13. Attached and happy Cancers will also enjoy this first part of June. Spend money on yourself by buying new clothes and finding new ways to improve your appearance. You have the ideal time to do so, so go ahead and treat yourself to something special – and add a spa treatment, too. This is the only time in 2018 that Venus will visit your sign.
If your birthday falls in June, you are feeling the full effects of Saturn now, but those born in the first ten days of July may not notice the changes until 2019, and other Cancer readers, beyond that to 2020.
June-born Cancers need to protect your own health too as responsibilities are increasing, and you may feel under strain. Before month’s end, ask your doctor if she would suggest any steps to take to keep your health strong, such as to take certain vitamins or to make any dietary adjustments.
You are a tender sign, dear Cancer, and that is what is so lovable about you. Your emotional intelligence is high, and you feel events stronger than most. That’s why you need to take good care of yourself – you have the heart of an artist, sensitive and kind, and you are always there for others. This month, find ways to take care of you, too.
