I was thinking of an interesting question today. What quality do you have now that when you were little, growing up, you never assumed you’d have in you? It may be that as you matured, you took on new facets to your personality that you found favorable, and were surprised to say were part of you. That has happened to me…

This month will focus you squarely on money. You likely already have had an inkling that this is true, for you just came through a full moon lunar eclipse in Leo, at 12 degrees, on January 31 that focused you on income and salary. You may have taken a new job with a higher salary, or if you recently were granted a raise in your present job, you will now see the extra money in your paycheck.

If you are self-employed, you are likely to now get the check that someone owed you – the one that you were told was in the mail months ago! (Just kidding, but you get the idea – money owed to you will come to you now.) That full moon will help you pay bills but also get money from others who promised to pay you. This eclipse is in luxury-minded Leo, so you may also decide to buy something expensive and beautifully designed, unique, or artistically created in the first days of February.

This second house, where the January 31 eclipse lit up will be especially strong during the first week of February and center you on money you spend, save, and find ways to earn more. This would be a good time to think about how to invest your money to make it grow by consulting a financial adviser. Mars is in a good angle to that full moon lunar eclipse from your sixth house of work assignments, so you may get an opportunity to do a side job for extra cash, or, if you are self-employed, to generate considerable new business. Eclipses have a long tail, so in the coming six months, your financial outlook will remain strong.

This possibility of seeing more money will be bolstered by the concurrent cooperative work of Mars (action) and Venus (money) on February 3. Many students of astrology assign Venus to be a love planet, which it is, but Venus also rules money and profits and especially money gained from products and services that are of interest to women. In your case, Venus will be doubly strong, for Venus will be moving through your eighth house of other people’s money until February 10. These are all good signs your income is due for an uptick.

A day that you’ll surely impress VIPs will be February 6, for on this day, talks will result in more money or benefits for you. Venus and Uranus will be in sync, so you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised when bingo – you hit a target and you get news this will result in more money or a new benefit for you.

Eclipses always come in pairs, so the next one is due on February 15 in Aquarius 27 degrees, and will light that house I just referred to, the house of other people’s money. What could happen? I will give you some examples of possibilities – pick one. You may earn a large commission or a bonus. If you are negotiating terms for a new job, this day would be ideal for a meeting about company benefits, such as the health and life insurance policies you will be offered, or about vacation days, flex time, family time off to care for a baby or elderly parent, possible tuition matching funds, or other perks to the job.

After this eclipse appears, you may collect on back child support owed you, or if you are in litigation, the courts may award you a generous amount of money – more than you expect. Talks about all these types of matters will come up after the month’s second eclipse February 15.

If you are self-employed, you probably have no idea what your tax liability will be each year by the time you file your tax return. Taxes come under the same eighth house that I have been discussing above, and that will be so emphasized at the new moon solar eclipse of February 15. This month, talk with your accountant early on, because you may be given surprisingly good news and you may not owe as much as you thought you would. File early, dear Cancer.

When we have an eclipse in Aquarius, we need to look at the condition of Aquarius’ ruler, Uranus. Happily, this time, Uranus will be positioned in an outstandingly positive way to the Sun – and this is important, as this is a solar eclipse. Uranus will also be friendly to the new moon, and your ruler is the moon, suggesting this will help you in a more direct way than most other signs. Uranus is also beautifully oriented toward Mercury, too, and all these planets, the Sun, new moon, and Mercury, are currently crowded into your eighth house of other people’s money. No matter how I look at your chart, from every side, you should be happy with how things look for you at this solar eclipse.

You may make a surprise commission or be offered a big payout from an insurance company. You may win big on a TV game show, or be told that someone has named you in a will, something you never saw coming and will be thrilled to hear you are due a check. Or, you may be surprised to receive a valuable gift. (Women readers, could it be diamonds?) Male readers, you would never be left out – something is coming. This eclipse comes the day after Valentine’s Day. Surprises abound at this happy financial eclipse.

If you need to sign a contract (very possible this month), wait a few days before and after either eclipse. So much commotion surrounds eclipses that it will become hard to think, let alone see the road ahead. Take your time. I particularly like February 25 when Saturn and the Sun will be so beautifully cooperative, indicating long-term gain. The moon will be in Cancer, within hours, conjunct good fortune Jupiter. That day would be hard to beat. Can’t wait until February 25? Then sign on February 7, when the transiting moon will be conjunct Jupiter.

The second way you can try to guess what might be coming up for you is to think back 19 years to the last time we had two eclipses on the very same days, January 31 and February 15, in the same signs and degrees, Leo 12 degrees and Aquarius 27 degrees, respectively. Can you recall anything special that happened then? While no event in astrology repeats precisely, because all the other planets will have moved to new positions, you nevertheless can glean some idea of what will come up, because the same solar houses will be highlighted again. It’s fun to think back and then look forward to see what happens.

If you were looking for a fair way to divide property at the end of a marriage or business, this eclipse of February 15 would open talks. If you start now on any touchy financial topic for any reason, you are likely to be surprised at how well things go. New moons are beginnings, but even so, try to wind things up sooner rather than later. I say that because if you don’t have a timeline in mind, discussions will likely drag on to the full moon lunar eclipse of July 27, which is one of the most tense eclipses of the year, and another financial one for you.

That next full moon lunar eclipse of July 27 will be in Aquarius, ending talks concerning all eighth house matters, including financial settlements. Keep in mind that the friendly new moon eclipse in Aquarius of February 15 will open talks and the July 27 eclipse later in the year will close them. I admit I am oversimplifying this outlook – if you have several financial matters pending on different fronts, you will see one of them close on or near July 27, but that is likely to be a troublesome time. On July 27, Uranus will be in hard angle to the Sun and full moon eclipse to close to exact degree. Settle things sooner than later, for Uranus is the planet of completely unexpected events, and in these types of financial talks, the last thing you need is an unwanted surprise.

There are several ways you can guess how these first two eclipses of 2018 this month might affect you. Eclipses arrive in family of signs and keep coming for two years, every six months. Think back to the first ones that appeared in Leo and Aquarius, last year, 2017, on February 10, August 7, and August 21. (In the latter case, August 21, you may have worn the special glasses to view the lunar eclipse.)

During February and August 2017, you likely had financial talks then, too. Have a look at your email to see what was going on in your life then. While no eclipse will ever be repeated in an identical way because the other planets around the Sun and moon will have since moved to new positions, you can nevertheless get a general idea of what might come up. I say that because the lunar and solar eclipses will fall in the same houses that you will have now.

The discussions you near those dates will now be advanced to a new level of sophistication this month, at or just after the eclipses of January 31 and February 15 come up. As said, this series will continue to July 27, August 11, and in 2019, January 20.

Eclipses are some of the most powerful ways the universe uses to affect change and get us moving forward at rapid speed. They are not influential for just a day but for six months or more. I feel you will like the unfolding of events from both eclipses this month, especially the one due February 15, which seems ready to give you a happy financial surprise.

Now let’s look at what Mars is doing so this month. No doubt about it, you will be working hard in February. Mars will be in Sagittarius, a holdover from January 26 that will continue until March 17. There is very little chance of you taking time off for a vacation or even a long weekend, for at the office, all hands will be needed on deck. As mentioned earlier in your report, the eclipse of January 31 will unleash a lot of new business, and as they say, when the Sun shines, you need to make hay. (You will be able to travel at month’s end. Stay with me.)

You may be thinking about taking a tittle trip at month’s end. I say that because you will be coming up on an especially sweet full moon (not an eclipse) on March 1, and you will feel this full moon build in strength and energy as you get to the last days of February. This one falls in your third house of travel, and even though it falls on a Thursday, all full moons have a circle of energy extending four days beyond its appearance, bringing you into the weekend.

Think about taking a trip into the mountains, for this full moon will be in earth sign Virgo. Or, with planets gathering in Pisces, to a sumptuous spot near water. You might want to spend a weekend at a spa, where you can sign up for all kinds of soothing treatments. Jupiter will be beautifully angled to Venus, so you’ll be ready for a luxurious experience. Because Jupiter and Mercury will be so beautifully supportive to each other, this is a good weekend to make a promise to the one you love. Saturn agrees, for Saturn will bestow his gifts of stability and security.

You may have had problems getting along with your partner, but not likely at this time, near the full moon. It is true that Neptune will oppose the moon, so you might have to go the extra mile to be sure you are picking up the right message from one another, but I feel Neptune’s presence will more likely spread magic and moonlight to your experience. If you attend a party or wedding, it should be an enchanting experience.

If your birthday falls on July 2, plus or minus four days, you will benefit the most from this lovely full moon. The same is true if you have Cancer rising or the moon in Cancer at 11 degrees plus or minus five degrees. Do you have a natal planet in Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn? Then that planet will be touched with sparkle – see what happens!

Romantically, with Venus in Pisces from February 10 until March 6, you have Venus in one of the finest places this planet can be to support a happy love life for you, dear Cancer. Best of all, Venus is coming into Pisces on February 10, just in time for Valentine’s Day, and at this point in the month, Saturn will be well positioned to help you make a plan for your future. Single? You will want to circulate quite a bit this month. Remember, too, with Jupiter in Scorpio, now in your fifth house of true love, you are the sign most likely (along with Scorpio) to find true love in 2018. You must circulate!

If you are due to go on a trip this month, particularly at month’s end, you’ll have chosen the perfect time to go. It will be a memorable and possibly even luxurious journey. Passions will run high on February 28, when Venus and Pluto collaborate to add spice to your relationship, and near the approaching full moon of March 1 – one of the nicest of the year – you will be all set.

In February you will want to look at the state of your finances, for the full moon lunar eclipse of January 31 gave you the impetus to examine the numbers of last year and find ways to bring in more money. If you weren’t been able to save much money last year, you may think of a way to put small amounts away consistently during the year ahead – and that savings will add up. Believe it or not, there’s more than one app for saving bit by bit, so you want to look for an electronic way to build wealth. After all, electronic Aquarius rules one of your financial sectors.

Your work assignments will be unusually busy in February, and you will need to be very organized to handle the incoming business. You might need to hire extra helpers for part or full time to help you get the orders out.

More money management will come into play at the new moon solar eclipse of February 15, and it might set you off in a new direction that will allow you to tap a new lucrative pipeline of cash. This month, you may be in line to receive a large, one-time windfall. You may get a generous book advance, make a deal that yields you a large commission, make an agreeable divorce settlement, or profit from selling property. Or, you may receive an inheritance, win a contest, or get a large check of money that’s been owed to you – these are only a few examples of how a one-time bundle of cash might come in. The payment would be come in as a large chunk, in a one-time payment.

Simultaneously, and forming part of the message of the eclipse, surprising Uranus will be in a positive, very supportive position and may bring unexpected financial luck you won’t see coming. It will most likely relate to a high profile project that may land in your lap, and be one that will allow your reputation to soar. The fact that all this is happening on an eclipse has special significance, for it indicates that the success you achieve now will open doors for greater wins in the future.

Every plot has a twist, and in your case, keep an eye on competitors, for one may be plotting ways take a piece of your pie. If you keep your antenna up to monitor what may be happening around you, both in the open, and also behind the scenes, you should be okay. Read business reports about your industry, attend trade shows, and listen to street talk, for all these actions will arm you with information you may need. Keep in mind that you have a strong Jupiter in water sign Scorpio helping you this year until early November, quite impressive support!

This trend involving Saturn opposed to the Sun will be directed strongest toward June-born Cancers with birthdays found at the start of the sign, June 21 to 31. You may feel this trend too if you have other natal planets in early degrees of Cancer (0 to 10 degrees). Keep your health strong too, as Saturn opposition to the Sun can be draining.

The month will end with an approaching full moon in Virgo on March 1, which may send you off on an exciting adventurous trip in the last days of February or in the first days of March. This full moon will be sugar and spice, allowing you to spread your wings and experience a change of scene and change of pace. If you can’t go, near month’s end, think about taking a brush-up course for your career, or attend a book signing. Your mind will be hungry for new concepts, so go to a lecture, seminar, book signing, or continuing education class, or start or continue college. This month, learning or adding to your skills is the point of almost all you do.
