This month you clearly are making progress on many levels, but when it comes to a partner, you seem to have many concerns and possibly feel the relationship had become thorny and complex. This person may be someone you are dating seriously for some time, or your spouse, or an ex who you became separated or divorced from but who still has a presence in your life, perhaps because you share child custody or a beloved pet. Or, this person might be an official business partner or collaborator, such as an agent, manager, publicist, writing partner, lawyer, accountant, or someone else who you work with on a one-on-one basis to get ahead. Something about this relationship has become troublesome.

This person is emitting a steady drumbeat in the background of your life now, and although you are an independent soul, involved in many activities concerning your career, home, money, and emotional life, this person who is tied to you in love or business is never far from your mind. This person is either suffering and desperately in need of your help, or is very controlling and has a scored earth method of negotiating with you. Pluto is speaking here, and if your birthday falls within three days of July 13, you may be resonating with the later situation.

Mars and Saturn are also in your partnership house, so this is a weighty situation – Mars, Saturn, and Pluto, a gang of three heavy planets, all in one little part of the sky. Mars and Saturn will conjoin in your opposite sign of Capricorn on April 2, and then gradually these planets will separate. Mars will leave your partnership sector next month on May 15. By next month this means you will switch your attention to money, and life might become a bit lighter. However, when Mars and Saturn conjoin on April 2, you may not know what to do – to act quickly or wait. You will want to make an impulsive move, but Saturn, the cautious planet, will hold you back. You will need to wait, reflect, and observe, for Saturn will caution you to do that.

Mars will link with Pluto in Capricorn on April 28, near the full moon of April 29 (you and I will talk about that full moon later). Mars conjunct Pluto on April 28 is like giving the cartoon character Popeye a bowl of spinach, and suddenly Popeye knows no bounds. His buttons will pop right off his shirt, and his arm muscles will grow enormously before your eyes. Pluto can be unfair and pushy at times, and when lit up by energy planet Mars, this could be tough day. Someone who you would think of as a partner or competitor will be the culprit here. If your birthday falls within two days of July 13, you will feel this energy.

Keep in mind with so many planets in your seventh house, it might not be a partner or collaborator, but rather a competitor who will keep you up at night. This competitor will stop at nothing to steal a piece of your pie. I rarely use the word ruthless, but it might fit here. The ancients called the seventh house the house of contractual agreements, like marriage and the forming of business partnerships (when the planets are sweet and congenial), but also the house of open enemies (when the planets are not being so nice, like now).

This is one of those days, April 28, when you would never want to provoke a bully. Go with the flow and hold yourself back, because with a full moon on the way the next day, all kinds of emotions could be unleashed and things may get too hot to handle. As you will see in a moment, the full moon of April 29 is actually a fairly good one, but as you see, your chart has all kinds of crosscurrents going on.

If your birthday falls within three days of June 30, you will feel the combination of Saturn and Mars this month, but by the end of May, things should improve.

Saturn will remain in your partnership house after Mars leaves on May 15 next month, and if you have a birthday in June, Saturn will retrograde starting April 17 to earlier degrees, and will go direct September 6. Saturn will retrograde back to 25 degrees of Capricorn, so all Cancers born in June will be experiencing life lessons learned through partners or competitors. Gemini just went through this trend, so if you have a friend or relative of that sign, ask what the last three years was like for them.

When Saturn is ON the Sun, like what Capricorn has now, Capricorns will choose the challenge they are facing. When Saturn OPPOSES the Sun, as you, dear Cancer, have now, if you have a June birthday, the universe chooses the test for you and throws you a heavy medicine ball to see if you can catch it, and watches to see what you will do.

If you feel very much alone, without your usual sources of support, that’s a hallmark of Saturn opposed to your Sun. This is all temporary and life will return to normal after you find your inner strength. Ha, ha – that’s when you don’t need people to help you – by then you will have found your innate powers! We all go through Saturn’s tests every 29 years, and you will learn valuable insights and wisdom from this period.

While Saturn takes three years to journey through a sign, you only feel Saturn’s direct rays when Saturn passes over the degrees directly opposite the degrees of your birthday Sun. If your birthday falls in June, you have this now, but I bet am not telling you anything new. You have been dealing with this situation since mid-January when a new moon appeared and began to spin this partnership or competitive situation.

What you will do about the situation will always up to you, for astrology can only reflect the condition but not the outcome – that is up to you. The full moon in Capricorn on June 28 should bring this episode to a close, or at least bring you to another plateau.

Yet you will not have to wait quite that long to see these matters come into focus – watch what happens this month at the full moon one day prior to the start of April, at the full moon March 31, plus four days. You seem to be working hard on your home or other property you might own or rent, or you may be moving into a new house, condo, or apartment now.

Alternatively, you may have been working with a contractor to renovate your present home, or working with a decorator to change the decor. You may be painting several rooms or making needed repairs. Or, if none of these possibilities fit your circumstances, you may find you will be with family members quite a bit now, perhaps giving your mother special assistance. That full moon of March 31 will affect the first days of April; you will be wrapping up this big home-related project.

On April 2, Mars and Saturn will be conjunct, and you will be anxious to make some sort of a decision about your partner, but as said earlier, Saturn will slow you down and ask you to think twice.

Yet in this unusual month, you have outstanding help, too – some of the best possible. Jupiter and Pluto are on very good terms, and these two powerhouse planets are rarely in friendly alignment. They met in perfect conjunction on January 15, will again in alignment on April 14, and one last time September 12, making most of 2018 (until September) quite glorious for money matters.

Jupiter is in your house of true love – the same house rules your pregnancies and children – and will signal Pluto in your house of marriage. Despite the concern for your partner, if you are in love, you may go ahead with a wedding. Remember, your personal relationship may be fine, and you may feel any difficulties with a partner in business or with a competitor. If you feel this alignment in a business way, near April 16 you may have a blockbuster creative idea that your partner has great financial opportunity and will be off and running with it. You really are an impressive idea factory these days.

While your thorny partnership with one individual might at times drive you crazy in April, it appears you need each other, or that you need your partner right now, possibly for possibly financial security or for brainstorming an important creative project. If your partner is bossy, you may be willing to overlook being strong-armed because the profits you will gain from the relationship might seem like a worthwhile trade for now. Be careful if this situation is the case – Pluto will spend a very long time in your committed relationship sector (seventh house). Pluto arrived in early 2008 and will leave in late 2024, for Pluto is the slowest moving planet in our solar system, taking 248 years to revolve around the Sun. Everyone has complex relationships – just be honest about what is holding you both together.

If you are unhappy, and you have children, and you want to leave a marriage, that will take time to get all the pieces in place, especially if your spouse has no money to support you and the children. Take your time – things continue to change. You can do things on your own time. I know how very difficult that kind of situation can be.

Mercury will retrograde in the first half of the month, but will go direct on April 15, a trend that started last month on March 22. This time Mercury will slide backward in your tenth house of career reputation, which occasionally can be frustrating. Clients may be indecisive or else promise business and then not send the purchase order. Plans that were green-lighted will be delayed or put on a back burner. Don’t rail against delays, as they will benefit you, something you won’t see the truth of immediately, but will in hindsight.

You should not sign contacts in your business or personal life during Mercury retrograde, nor give a verbal affirmative. Do not launch any important business or personal initiative – not an advertising campaign, not a new product or service launch, and don’t buy electronic items either. The sands of time are shifting, and if you agree to a binding agreement now, by time the ink is dry, the qualifiers you used to make your decision will be outdated. Later you will say, if I only knew! If I had only waited!

No matter how pressing your attention to your home or family happens to be at the start of April – and no matter how your closest love or business relationship is going – you will need to turn your attention to your career once you get to the new moon in Aries, April 15. Here, opportunity is spouting up quickly, so investigate all, but don’t rush to finalize deals until Mercury is out of retrograde several days past April 15.

Uranus will conjoin the Sun at the new moon, April 15, and in Cancer’s chart, the Sun rules your solar house of earned income, so money might bring surprising news – maybe a bundle of cash will make its way to you. With Uranus, I can’t tell if news will be wildly exciting or troubling – we will have to see. The only thing you can bet on with Uranus is that what you expect to happen won’t, but something else will. Nothing about this situation would be characterized as normal, but let’s hope it is at least entertaining. I will go out on a limb here and say you will like the news, because Uranus will be friendly to the Sun.

My favorite day for you to seal a business deal – one that would add a jewel to your crown – will be Monday, April 23, when Mars will receive golden beams from Jupiter. What a stellar day! Sign a contract, make a presentation, interview for a new position, have a performance review (you’ll ace it), or enter a professional contest.

The full moon in Scorpio on April 29 is another quagmire. It seems sweet – with lots to cheer about – and it lights your fifth house of true love. As said earlier, Mars and Pluto will conjoin the day earlier, so their influence will be super strong.

At the same time, Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, will be beautifully oriented to Mars and Pluto in your marriage house, so if you have found love, Jupiter will spread sunshine to help you smooth out any differences you have with your partner. If you feel concerned about the welfare of your children, know that they will be protected. I can only imagine you have several people in your life that would fit the description of partner, because this month’s forecast is quite complex to unravel. Go figure – out of a month with many obstacles emerges this beautiful, powerful aspect. Actually Pluto and Jupiter move so slowly that you will feel this lovely warm aspect all year, until the end of September.

A full moon brings all to a pinnacle point, so this might bring on a darling episode, one just made for love. If you are single, this full moon April 29 plus four days may bring a breathtaking romantic episode.

In love, besides this mainly sweet full moon, April 29, you will have the advantage of Venus in Taurus until April 24. Majestic Venus should also bring a note of vibrancy to your social life, for Venus will tour your friendship / events / people / fun sector (eleventh house) from the start of the month. This means you should aim to socialize most during the first three-and-a-half weeks. Venus in Taurus blends beautifully with your Sun in Cancer, and will give you a longing for pampering. Treat yourself to a touch of luxury by buying yourself something new and flattering to wear, or have a spa treatment before you go to a party. You deserve love, and you will find love, dear Cancer.

SUMMARY

If you are looking for a new place to live, or are involved in a renovation and wondering when you’ll be ready to move in, your stars are clear: April 1 is your day to make decisions about your home. The full moon, March 31, will help you bring a major home or family-related matter to a grand conclusion. A Cancer always feels better when home is settled, secure, and precisely the way the little crab wants it to be and with family members in harmony.

There is a fly in the oatmeal however, in that at this full moon Saturn and Mars, both orbiting in your house of partnership and marriage, will stir the pot. It seems that your spouse, ex, steady sweetheart, or other person connected to your home will be difficult and intransigent to changes you are making in your lifestyle. This person is offering all kinds of opinions about why your actions are all wrong. Or, your sweetheart or partner may be silent but feeling deficient that you are able to buy a house or condo, but that is still out of reach for your partner.

Encourage this person to talk out their feelings, and as much as you’d love to cover your ears and hum as to not listen, listen anyway, in earnest. Simply by entertaining this person’s opinions, you might come up with new ideas that will put the lion’s share of difficulties to rest. If you have children, they will form the best part of this picture – they will be thrilled to see everything set at home and ready to enjoy.

The new moon of April 15 will immediately switch your attention to your career. You are apparently doing very well and impressing higher ups, in spite of the fact that you’ve been concerned that you may not have hit the mark. You’ll see impressive progress by year’s end, but for now, with the force of this powerful new moon, it appears you are ready to launch a new strategy, and if you do so after April 15, you will have the right timing and right ideas to offer. You are feeling adventuresome and possibly entrepreneurial, so follow those instincts. If the type of work you do involves digital technology you will be poised to do doubly well.

If you are creative, it appears you are due to finish up a large project that will bring you applause and the likelihood of a hefty profit. This year, with Jupiter is visiting your fifth house for the first time since 2005-2006, you are a creative factory for ideas. Have confidence in all you have to offer, for you can hit on a very successful idea that changes the course of your life. With Uranus reaching his final days in your tenth house of honors and career success, you have the power to become quite famous for the work you do.

In love you’re lucky to have Venus in Taurus, a superbly compatible placement for you until April 24. Venus will encourage you to get out of the office to socialize more. Venus will move through your eleventh house of friends / social events / new people and places, so you are likely to be invited to a party, a dinner with friends, or other gathering.

In love, if you are dating seriously, the full moon of April 29 will light your house of true love and you should see news within four days of this date. April could well turn out to be a landmark time for you, when you get engaged or wed. No matter what your marital status, Saturn will see that your relationship is steady and long lasting. This is an important clue to what is happening, for Saturn is the planet ruling marriage and commitment in the Cancer horoscope.

Remarkably, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will contact Pluto, linking your houses of love and marriage and bringing you a shot at happiness as well as prosperity. If you are already married, you can now make more of your union by planning something new to do together, such as to buy a house or to have a baby, the latter being an ideal time to do so.

Saturn is currently touring your marriage sector, so if you are attached, your partner may be going through a difficult period in life, and you’ll need to help out.

All month, it would be wise to keep your eye on your competitors, who seem quite out of control and desperate for sales this month. Cancer can always outwit the competition, but first you need to get quiet intelligence on their antics so you can address the situation. You can win this contest, so first go get intel.

If your marriage partner (or business partner) is not getting along well with you, you may need to decide what to do. If it is your romantic partner who concerns you, you may consider seeing a couples therapist, go on a couples’ retreat, or if you have been trying but not making progress, to leave altogether.

If a business partner has betrayed you, you know what you need to do. If any differences were to come out, they would when Saturn entered this part of your chart for the first time in 29 years, a trend that started December 20, 2017, and will continue for three years. Cancers who are feeling this influence the most now, in 2018, are those with birthdays that fall in June.
