Your big moment is coming next month when you will be crowned the celestial favorite and the golden one, a rare honor you get every 12 years. You’ve worked hard and had faith that it eventually would be your turn at outstanding good fortune, and finally, your ship is coming in, dear Sagittarius. As is usual before a big cosmic event like this, the planets are gathering in your behind-the-scenes sector to encourage you to step off the merry-go-round of a busy life and think deeply about what you hope to accomplish in your dazzling coming year.

You might say, everyone knows their own dearest goals. I have found that this is not always the case. I meet people all over the world, and whenever I ask anyone what is it that they hope will happen in their special year, some look skyward with a faraway look in their eyes and say that’s a hard question. The more detailed you can be in envisioning your future victory, the better chance you have to grasp it. Imagine yourself as the star of a movie, and run the movie in your mind. What do you imagine for the main character of the story, which is, of course, you?

You have until November 8, when the orchestra will start up, the audience will already be seated, and the curtain will rise as you step out in the spotlight. You will be the most favored of all zodiac signs from November 8, 2018, to December 2, 2019, a period of 13 months.

When you have extraordinary cosmic help, as you will, you can choose which parts of life you will want to see your biggest gains. In other words, you need not limit your luck to only one area of life. You can wish for personal as well as professional gains. Although Jupiter will enter Sagittarius for just over a full year on November 8, you won’t need to have your short list of wishes ready to go until the new moon in Sagittarius, December 6.

Venus will go retrograde this month from October 5 until November 16. Venus retrogrades infrequently, every 18 months. The very day that Venus goes direct, her little brother, Mercury, known for his clever pranks, will ago retrograde, from November 16 until December 6. There it is, December 6, the day we finally come out from under all the retrogrades, and the date of the new moon in Sagittarius, opening a portal of time for you to grasp your deepest desires. You will have to do your part to work on your stated goals, but you will have outstanding planetary help.

I know you must be tired of hearing about retrograde planets, for when planets go retrograde, they sleep and withhold their best energy from us. This means delays and changes of direction come up, and it is hard to make progress.

You will have this vibration starting next month for over a year, from November 7, 2018, to December 2, 2019. Jupiter is your ruler, making this period doubly special for you.

I have two friends who don’t know one another and live in different parts of the US. Both went ahead with new skin treatments, and both now carry scars from those treatments on their faces forever. They had those treatments years ago, and the dates of the treatments bore out that Venus was retrograde. Their scars have not faded. One treatment was a radioactive micro needling. Although each woman tells me she can cover up those scars with concealer, both see the marks when they remove their makeup.

Don’t schedule a face-lift, fillers, Botox, cosmetic veneers, and for women, a new, dramatically different hair color or radical haircut in October or November. Yes, Venus goes direct on November 16, but with Mercury retrograde directly after, play it safe and schedule your appointment for December 6 or later. You can do regular grooming, of course, and schedule trims and other small routine actions, but not big, appearance-changing ones.

Venus retrograde is not a time for single Sagittarians to start a new relationship, so stay home, get things done, and plan to socialize at holiday parties. Right now, you have Venus in your twelfth house, so you may be tempted to enter into a relationship with a married partner, which would only lead to heartbreak. You will meet so many wonderful possible romantic interests while Jupiter is in Sagittarius from next month onward that it would be a shame to waste your golden vibrations on someone who is not available and probably won’t ever be there for you.

When Venus retrogrades, you might want to patch up a former friendship—you may miss one another, and the falling out you had may seem insignificant compared with the pleasure you had having that friend in your life. A past romantic lover may come back too, and you will have to see how you feel about that person.

The theme of friendship will be very strong, for the new moon of October 8 will stimulate your eleventh house. That house rules your good friends and new people also, and any one of those acquaintances might turn into a true friend. It also rules your constituency, if you are a politician, and your adoring audience, if you are an actor or other public figure. It rules your followers on Twitter and other social media, for example, or the people in the club where you’re a member, whether the club is social or professional.

This new moon will receive energetic beams from Mars, now newly strong, ironically back to former strength on the very same day as this month’s new moon, October 8. You might travel to see friends, or you may have more texts and phone calls between you and your friends this month. With Neptune in such lovely attitude toward Venus, you may have a small dinner party at your house (Neptune is in your home sector) for friends you’ve not seen in a while and want to catch up with.

Neptune’s strong and positive vibe this month might also encourage you to get involved with a charity fundraiser on any level that you can. Neptune rule compassion, and when in conversation with Venus—even Venus retrograde—you may feel you’ve got to do something to help those in distress. Humanitarian projects also come under the eleventh house, so you might join an organization to help keep the rhinos from becoming extinct, to save a coral reef, or to join a community recycling program. These are just a few ideas to start you thinking.

Retrograde planets have their good points, for they deliberately slow us down. They urge us to think about what we are doing and where we are going. It’s easy to avoid big questions of life, if you are continually on the move, putting out fires, attending to needs of others, and generally not seeing the big picture. Retrograde planets make you slow down to see that big picture and ask, can you make your life better and sweeter; what qualities do you have that are special and rare? There are many possible questions.

There are two days of the month that won’t be especially positive. Avoid October 10 for doing anything important. Don’t sign a contract (heavens, no!) or have an interview or presentation. Don’t have your annual review with your boss on this day or bring up a controversial subject with your mate or sweetheart. Mercury and surprise-a-minute Uranus will be at odds, and it will be a tough day, when whatever you think will happen won’t, but something else will, and it will come out of left field.

This same day, October 10, could bring untoward news about an emerging career situation that could color your reputation and standing in your industry. This episode may catch you off balance. You will need to fix the situation quickly, because you could suffer financially if you hesitate or don’t intervene at all. October 10 will be nobody’s favorite day, so don’t ask for favors or schedule any key meetings in your professional or personal life that day.

The full moon, October 24 in Taurus, is due to be challenging, too. It will fall in your sixth house of health, so you may reach the point where you feel you have to stop a habit that is harming you. It could be almost anything, but it is a habit that you know you have to break. If you feel you need a therapist to help you, this would be an ideal month to find the right one for you.

It’s also the month to try meditation or prayer to center yourself and reach the depths of the soul in you. This full moon, although possibly jarring, could sound the bell that makes you realize you need to change. If you have not been working out, this is a good time to start, assuming your doctor agrees. If you had surgery, it is especially critical that you wait until your doctor gives you the green light.

Speaking of doctors, this month you have the ideal time also to get annual screenings and exams that you’ve been putting off. Include visits to the eye doctor and dentist when making your list. You’ll want to start your year as celestial favorite in the best possible shape.

At the office, at the full moon October 24, you will be rushing to finish a project or a negotiation. Sagittarius always blurts out honest thoughts, but at the time of the full moon, if self-employed, too much honesty might cause you to lose a client, friend, or lover. Be your diplomatic best under all circumstances, for everyone of every sign will be feeling touchy at this full moon, for Uranus will conjoin the moon and oppose Venus and the Sun. The moon rules your financial eighth house of commissions, licensing fees, loans, credit cards, and so forth, so money due you could be volatile and vulnerable to loss at this time—another reason to be kind to clients.

Not to put too fine a point on this full moon, October 24, but there are other difficulties, which may involve ninth house matters, including a legal matter, the media (publishing, broadcasting, or the digital world), an international relationship, customs, long distance travel, immigration (green card, visa, passport, citizenship), or an academic matter. Stay alert, as you don’t know what topic may come up, but with Uranus opposition the Sun, one of these topics will likely need your attention.

Fortunately, you will have Saturn in ideal angle to the Sun and the full moon, sending soothing messages to each. It appears that you will need to make a decision, and you are likely to make a good decision—one that will bring long-range stability and a sense of financial security. As you see, you may initially worry when news comes up at the full moon, but almost immediately, Saturn will swing into action and help you find a resolution you find suitable.

One of your very best days of the month will be October 29, when Mercury and Jupiter will be conjunct in Scorpio, your twelfth house of confidential matters. Jupiter is your ruler, so this aspect shines doubly brightly for you. This day falls on a Monday, so if you can, take a weekend trip away, and ideally include Monday, October 29, as one of your days out of town. This five-star day will be perfect for signing a contract, making a presentation, or having an interview. At month’s end, Venus will still be retrograde, so if the product or service is aimed toward women, you should wait until after December 6 to announce it to the world.

Friends will bring much cheer to your life and help you find ways to relax. If you were thinking of joining a new social or professional club, the new moon of October 8, and the week that follows, would be your best time to send in your application. You will gain much from getting out more often and making new friends. Also, make an effort to follow a new path. For example, if you were hoping to find love in your workplace and nothing much has happened there, you need to cast a wider net.

Venus rules your eleventh house of friends and acquaintances. This month, Venus will go retrograde from October 5 to November 16, possibly bringing friends back into your life that you’ve not seen in a long time. It will be fun to reconnect and catch up. If you are giving a charity benefit, you may find you have to work harder than usual during this phase to make it a success, but you can—and will.

You are used to having Venus’ graceful touch, but retrograde planets are sleeping and withholding their greatest powers. You will have to soldier on without Venus’ help to find the right methods to raise funds. Venus is associated not only with love and beauty but also with money. Any retrograde planet will also ask you to go back and review what had been done previously and to use that information to improve methods and productivity as you move forward.

Mars in your third house of travel is an indication you can find a love interest, if you travel short distances this month through mid-November. (Mars is the natural ruler of your house of true love.) Take a drive to a region where fall foliage is at a peak, pumpkins and fresh corn are sold on roadside farm stands, and apples are ripe on tree branches, yours for picking. Do you live below the equator? Spring is about to burst open, and you will want to be there to enjoy all the buds and pastel flowers.

Mars in your third house, Aquarius, not only will encourage you to drive short distances, but also will urge you to write a report, book manuscript, computer code, or design for an app. Sagittarius is the publishing sign and the sign known to be the most capable to produce a blockbuster suspense novel that readers say they can’t put down. If you always wanted to write a book—or even if you are a veteran writer—Mars will be encouraging you to start. You might have a tiger by the tail.

Also this month, you may be negotiating an important contract. Mercury and Jupiter will combine forces on Monday, October 29, your best day of the month, to sign a key agreement. Make sure you use this day well, for it is a gift from a loving universe.

The full moon of October 24 will affect your work; you will have all the energy you need to finish a large project with many moving parts. If you have a team working on this with you, you will be able to rally your teammates to do their best work and turn out a successful result, meeting all goals.

Uranus will oppose the Sun at this time, however, so you may have problems from a foreign person or with customs and shipping. If your project is for a client overseas, find a way to get the work in their hands without undue red tape. The full moon will receive erratic vibes from Uranus, so at the onset, make sure all parties understand the terms of the project and how payment will be handled, including any possible expense overruns. This way, you can stay sane, despite a full moon that will send all sorts of conflicting messages.
