A Note from Susan Miller
NOVEMBER 2018
Dear Reader,
Tomorrow, I fly to San Diego to give my Year Ahead 2019 weekend seminar at the La Costa Resort & Spa in nearby Carlsbad, CA. I am doing a cool Yoga + Astrology 3-day weekend from November 2-4 with Alanna Zabel of AZIAM Yoga. Neptune will be trine the Sun, denoting extreme harmony and spirituality, making this the perfect weekend to recharge. This will be a calming weekend where we will set our intentions for the New Year 2019.
I will speak on Friday and Saturday evening, both talks different and very detailed, with plenty of time for Q+A. Men are invited too, of course—this would make a fabulous couples weekend.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
Dear Sagittarius, you have been waiting for your Emerald Year to begin, and I am thrilled to tell you that it will happen this month, on November 8. This is the date that your ruling planet, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will move into Sagittarius for the first time in 12 years. Jupiter will spend 13 months in your sign, from November 8, 2018, to December 2, 2019, giving you plenty of time to see your dream take flight.
From November 8 onward, you will be the celestial favorite, the one to get all the lucky breaks, new friendships, career opportunities, money, travel, and even romantic love. Your health will improve noticeably, and your optimism will be on the rise.
Ancient astrologers pointed out that when you have Jupiter in your sign, you are most likely to meet your one truelove during the year Jupiter spends with you. Sometimes the connection is instant, like a thunderbolt, and sometimes it develops gradually, like a great recipe that requires time for the ingredients to marinate slowly and gently. Either way, make no mistake—this is your year to meet your one truelove. It may feel to you later that your relationship was fated.
In order to make the most of this coming year, you need to know exactly what you want to accomplish between now and the end of 2019. Get your priorities in order, and start working on your dearest dreams. Nothing in astrology is predestined—the universe wants to see your actions, as evidence of your intent.
You will be subject to occasional out-of-the-blue luck too, and you will be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of surprise opportunities you haven’t had before and never anticipated. Travel to a country that requires your passport for entry seems to be almost certain, as Jupiter works to expand your view of the world around you. If you hope to go back to the university for an advanced degree, this is the year to send your application. Ask for financial aid, too. Would you rather write a book or screenplay or sell a program to the networks? Jupiter will help you in all media projects.
So that you’ll see the power of Jupiter, you have the luckiest day of the year in November, and this year, it bridges two days, Sunday, November 25, and Monday, November 26, when the Sun has his annual meeting with good fortune Jupiter.
This will be a glorious set of days, when the Sun will take all the sparkling luck of Jupiter and multiply it many times over. If your birthday falls within five days of these dates, you will get a double dip of pleasure. While everyone of every sign will enjoy these days as their favorites, each zodiac sign will have these two luminaries in a different part of the chart. For you, the Sun and Jupiter will meet in Sagittarius. Everyone wishes they were you! The Sun and Jupiter’s only purpose will be to make you happy and fly open the gates of creaky, heavy doors that had previously been bolted shut.
Ancient astrologers pointed out that when you have Jupiter in your sign, you are most likely to meet your one truelove during the year Jupiter spends with you.
Here is an interesting fact: Theoretically, because Jupiter comes to the same sign every 12 years, you should have enjoyed a luckiest day of the year, with the Sun and Jupiter in Sagittarius, in November 2006 or December 2007, but that never happened. Due to a technicality that would take too long to explain, Jupiter did not meet with the Sun in those years, but met in Scorpio and then skipped on to meet in Capricorn. It has been 24 years since you have been privileged with the luckiest day of the year.
I looked back to the time these two luminaries met in a shimmering Sagittarius conjunction, and it was on December 18, 1995. (Astrology Zone was started as a Sagittarius, on December 14, 1995. Jupiter and the Sun met four days after my site’s anniversary—that is how powerful the conjunction of Jupiter and the Sun can be. Starting Astrology Zone changed my life forever, although at the time, no one knew if the Internet would even catch on!)
What happened for you in December 1995? Can you recall? It might have been a day of destiny for you, too.
Here is another stunning day for you—Tuesday, November 27, when Mercury and Jupiter combine forces. Mercury rules your tenth house career sector, so you may get outstanding proof then, or that week, that you are going like gangbusters professionally. Mercury will be retrograde in the second half of the month, from November 16 to December 6, so if you do have good news about your career, it will come from a person or situation from your past.
Don’t be sad that this aspect of November 27 is a little flawed by Mercury retrograde. Next month, Mercury and Jupiter will meet again on December 21, and this time with a strong, healthy Mercury moving forward with strength, so it’s sure to be a five-star day for your career and your closest relationship. After December 21, these two luminaries will not combine forces again until January 2, 2020, in Capricorn—your money house.
The new moon that will appear next month in Sagittarius, on December 7, will bring you even more opportunity, and again you will be in a position to decide how you will direct the new moon’s energy. I will explain more next month, but you get the idea—the universe is listening to your wishes, dear Sagittarius. It’s been a very long time since you’ve had this much cosmic support.
This month, the new moon, November 7, will encourage you to take good care of your health. You have such a full agenda in the year ahead, so you must follow doctor’s orders, get screenings and tests, and enter 2019 in top shape. The new moon of November 7 will be in your solar twelfth house, and will give you a chance to delete any dependence on painkillers or other substances that are sapping your strength and keeping you from reaching your full potential. Jupiter is the great healer and is also called the planet of miracles, so by all means, use this new moon if you need help—there are professionals who can help you. Your job will be to find the right one for you.
This month, Mercury will be retrograde in Sagittarius. If you are unfamiliar with this aspect, Mercury is the planet of communication, so it is a time of mixed messages. You need to go the extra mile to understand the messages you receive, and be clear about messages you give out. This is one aspect that affects everyone almost uniformly. One of the maddening parts of Mercury retrograde is the delays and do-overs that Mercury requires.
Mercury is an intellectual planet that helps us with perception, thinking, reflection, and judgment, but during these phases, our thinking is often off. Mercury retrograde phases should be an instant flag that conditions are changing, and that the priorities you held prior to the retrograde will likely change. If you use your former qualifiers to make a decision, the results may be off, and later you may say, I wish I had known this was going to happen.
I wrote an essay called Everything You Need to Know About Mercury Retrograde, which appears on the lower-left side of the home page of my website, AstrologyZone.com. That article is also on the premium, subscriber version of my app, Daily Horoscope Astrology Zone by Susan Miller on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. (Simply search by the term Astrology Zone and it will come up quickly with an icon of a deep-blue sky with AZ in white letters.)
My essay on Mercury retrograde appears with others I have written for the premium version of my app. You can subscribe to the premium version for $4.99 per month and stop any time, as soon as your subscription expires. (We can help you with that.) The app is ironclad secure, and you will never see ads. Once you have it, go to Life, Love + More on the menu, and then once there, look into Susan’s Essays. (There is one on whether there is a thirteenth sign that you might like.)
Now let’s turn to the full moon in Gemini on November 22, which might mark an important moment in your life. If you have been dating, this full moon might inspire a confession of love and perhaps bring on serious plans to marry. Or, you may be ready to sign an important person onto your company to collaborate with you in a one-on-one way. That person could be an agent, publicist, or an expert you would sign a contract with to proceed. This month, you can plan, but don’t etch your plans in stone quite yet—sign papers after Mercury goes direct on December 6. I like the new moon of December 7 in Sagittarius. I also would like you to use the meeting of Mercury and Jupiter on December 21.
Before I go, I want to mention that Venus will still be retrograde until November 16, a trend that started October 5. Venus rules your appearance, so during the first half of November, refrain from changing your hair radically, such as to style it from long to short, or from brunette to blonde. Men, this might not be the best time to shave off your beard or grow one. Keep things as is. Don’t try any new dermatological treatments, and by all means, don’t have a face-lift or do Botox—you may not like the results, and the stakes are too high, for Venus rules good looks, and when she retrogrades, her powers are noticeably reduced.
Venus also rules all things that embellish you, such as precious jewels. If you are in the market for diamonds (or emeralds, rubies, or any other precious gems), wait until Venus goes direct. Thinking about this, I wouldn’t want you to spend a lot of money with Mercury retrograde, either! December is such a better month to shop, after December 6.
While we are on the topic of shopping, don’t buy a computer, smartphone, new stove, a car, or any product with moving parts or electronics inside, because Mercury rules those parts in machines. You will do so much better later—be patient! Do not sign contracts while Mercury is retro, for if you do, you would only have to redo your contract later.
As you see, you are on the threshold of a happy, productive, gratifying time. Jupiter will be in a fire sign like yours, and it will allow you to naturally absorb the goodness of Jupiter easily. Use this spectacular energy, dear Sagittarius!
SUMMARY
In recent years, you have had a spanner in the works. Saturn was in Sagittarius from late December 2014 to late December 2017, a very difficult time when you were tested and challenged at every turn. Theoretically, relief should have come in 2018, but Saturn had to head somewhere, so he went into Capricorn, your second house of earned income. That was not a favorable place, either. Saturn in Capricorn put a cap on your earnings, so you may have found employers very tight-fisted with their budgets. Saturn is on a mission to show you that you can get more value from your money, but the process can be laborious. Admittedly, you have until December 2020 before Saturn will leave Capricorn.
Yet you now have so much to cheer about! In a separate aspect, Jupiter is about to visit Sagittarius starting this month, on November 8. Jupiter visits each sign for one year, and it takes him 12 years to rotate around the Sun. This month, you enter your Emerald Year, where wishes can come true. You are about to start an entirely new chapter this year, and you will be very busy.
You will meet very successful people from all walks of life, and several will want to use their influence to help you. This will also be a powerful year for you to meet your one truelove as well (now through most of 2019 will be one of your best, in fact). You will travel to at least one foreign country—a place you have not ever visited. You will also see career opportunities open up, for Jupiter expands everything he touches. What about the difficult cash flow situation? Even that will be soothed, for you will have so much going for you on so many fronts.
Years that hold Jupiter in your sign are landmark years. You will see a cornucopia of goodies come to you in the coming months. Get your foot in the door of any VIP who will see you, and plant the seeds of your ideas, for financial bounty will come to you one year from now and will come from the work you do and the people you see in 2019. Once you get to 2020, you will have the potential to see enormous financial growth, and virtually all of it will stem from what you are doing now.
The new moon on November 7 will fall in Scorpio, so it will be a quiet one for you. It will be a superb time to attend to health matters, whether physical or psychological in nature. (If you want to go into rehab to release yourself from a dependence on opioids, this new moon will provide the ideal opportunity.) Make it a priority to get your health in the strongest position you can, now that you have the great healer, Jupiter, in your sign. You can find the right doctors to help you.
The full moon of November 22 will fall in your opposite sign of Gemini, suggesting you may be thinking of getting engaged or married soon. Many couples announce their engagement at the year-end holidays—that would be ideal timing for you. There are too many retrograde planets in November to ideally get engaged or married now.
As you begin November, Venus will be retrograde, continuing a weak orbit Venus started October 5. Venus will go direct on November 16, but that is the same day that Mercury will go retrograde until December 6. Although Jupiter in Sagittarius will be fantastic for your love life, Venus retrograde indicates that if you meet a new romantic interest in the first two weeks of November, affection might cool off quickly and be lacking for the term of your relationship. Give socializing a break, and start up again at the year-end holiday parties.
When planets are in retrograde, especially Mercury, Mars, and Venus, it indicates that conditions are in flux, and you should not yet make any hard and fast decisions. Conditions around you are changing, old structures are being broken up, and which way the pieces will fall is still too soon to know.
For now, attend to health matters, so you can be in a position to reap all the lovely opportunities that will be coming your way. Start making your wish list! We will not have such a torrent of retrograde planets next year as we did in 2018. This was to be a year to look back and fix what was broken, but next year is your year to enjoy to the fullest, and to start out on a new, bright path.
